The Female Lead Decides to Act Wickedly

Chapter 291: Chapter 142: This Time It’s a Swindler (Part 15)_2

She hurriedly thanked her son-in-law, hung up the phone, and said to He Qingfeng with glee, ”Master He, it’s settled. Let’s go have lunch first, and then come back at two in the afternoon!”

”Thank you, Benefactor Zhang! I’m truly grateful for your help this time!”

Unlike the previous pleasantries, at this moment, He Qingfeng was genuinely grateful.

Having personally come to this large hospital, he realized just how busy it was.

No wonder there were scalpers, the patients from all over the country were just too many, too many.

To register normally, it would probably take until next year.

With the connection of Old Lady Zhang’s son-in-law, they had only waited half a day to see a doctor, which was a huge favor.

”Ah, Master He, you’re too polite. I’m also very happy that I could help you.”

Old Lady Zhang was smiling so widely she couldn’t close her mouth, and she was extremely satisfied with her son-in-law who had made her so proud.

However, Old Lady Zhang did not know that her most satisfying son-in-law was, at this moment, being approached by danger.

”...Are you Doctor Liang?”

The doctor was writing medical records in his office when suddenly the door was pushed open.

The doctor was startled, and upon glancing up, he saw a patient’s family member.

The face looked somewhat familiar, and after thinking carefully, the doctor remembered it was the son of an old man he operated on last month.

That man had been somewhat irritable, and during the old man’s hospitalization, there had been several quarrels with the medical staff.

In the end, the family member had ignored the doctor’s advice and forcefully processed the discharge procedures for the old man.

Could it be that the old man really had a problem?

The doctor was full of alarm and suspicion, and as he looked up from behind the computer, he asked, ”What’s the matter?”

”Are you Doctor Liang? Did you perform the operation on my father?” The man in his forties, with a dark and sturdy build, spoke with a very unfriendly tone.

”I am indeed Doctor Liang, but I see many patients every day, and I’m not sure which one is your father—”

Before the doctor could finish speaking, the burly man swore angrily, ”You don’t know? You performed surgery on my dad, and it’s only been a few days, now you pretend not to recognize him?”

”What’s with that attitude, Doctor Liang?”

The doctor was somewhat speechless; how did this become an issue of attitude.

Looking at the menacing appearance of the burly man, the doctor was on edge, yet he still stood up and said politely, ”Family member, if you have something to say, please just say it.”

If there’s an issue, talk about it; don’t bring up attitude.

He was a surgeon, he earned his living through skill, not through service attitude.

”Should I say it straightforwardly? You quack, you killed my father with your treatment!”

The burly man rushed toward the doctor in three or two steps, crying out in grief and indignation, ”I said not to have the surgery, but you all insisted on it, we spent tens of thousands, and now the person is gone!”

Doctor: ...Without the surgery, your old man could have died on the spot!

Besides, no doctor in the world dares to guarantee they can definitely cure a patient.

Doctors are humans, not gods!

But, Doctor Liang knew, the patient’s family was in a rage, and they simply wouldn’t listen to his explanations.

He looked around; it was lunchtime, and the other office colleagues had gone for lunch or were still working overtime.

Alone, facing a family member in such a state of anger was quite dangerous.

”Don’t be rash, let’s talk this out calmly!”

Doctor Liang tried to appease with a gentle voice while quietly shifting toward the door.

Medical disputes were crazy nowadays, and some vicious family members would readily take a doctor’s life.

Doctor Liang felt he had a clear conscience, but that was no match for a family member fixated on blame.

Doctor Liang moved cautiously, the family member ultra-sensitive.

He noticed Doctor Liang’s subtle movements and grew even angrier, ”Doctor Liang, you killed my father, and now you’re trying to run?”

With that, he pulled out an art knife from his pocket.

A few clicks, and the blade was extended.

”Doctor Liang, my dad is dead, and you’re not going to get away with it!”

A cold glint flashed by as the sharp art knife blade darted towards Doctor Liang.

Doctor Liang quickly dodged.

He had made it to the door, just a few more steps and he would be able to rush out.

Just at this moment, somebody was coming in, colliding directly with Doctor Liang.

Doctor Liang nearly fell but managed to grab the arm of the person, steadying himself while shouting, ”Run, he has a knife!”

The newcomer was a young intern doctor. Hearing this and seeing the fierce face before him, he was so scared he forgot how to react and blocked the doorway.

Doctor Liang: ...

Cursing inwardly, he nevertheless forcefully pushed the intern out of the door.
