The Female Lead Decides to Act Wickedly

Chapter 259: Chapter 131: This Time It’s a Swindler (Part 4)_3

Su Min collapsed smoothly into the arms of several aunties, her eyes closed as a gurgling sound came from her throat.

Then, her body shuddered, and she slowly opened her eyes.

The stiff, gloomy look from before was gone, replaced by Su Min’s original simplicity and spiritual movement.

”Fifth Aunt, what, what’s happened to me?”

Su Min seemed to have no idea what had just transpired, her face filled with confusion.

”It’s, it’s nothing!” said the Fifth Aunt who Su Min had addressed, her feelings complex as she was unsure of how to behave toward Su Min.

Had it been before today, Fifth Aunt would certainly not have given much regard to Su Min, a wild girl abandoned by her own parents.

But, just now, she had witnessed Su Min being possessed by a ghost, an impact and fear that were indescribable.

If it had merely been fake haunting, including Fifth Aunt, none of the villagers would have been so frightened, nor would they have easily believed in Su Min’s supernatural abilities.

The events of Su Yong’s family being beaten and their woodpile attacked had not been witnessed firsthand and had not made a profound impression on everyone.

However, the locked doorboards suddenly bursting open, Su Yong’s wife’s clothes catching fire—these supernatural events unfolded right before everyone’s eyes.

Apart from possession by ghosts and malevolent spirits seeking vengeance, no other plausible explanation could be conceived by the crowd.

...Could it be that Xiaoya, this little girl, truly possessed supernatural abilities, capable of communicating with spirits and inviting vindictive ghosts to avenge her?!

This was what the onlooking villagers thought, and Su Yong’s family, who had experienced such supernatural occurrences firsthand, were terrified out of their wits.

Su Yong’s family, including his son, had completely dropped any ill intentions towards Su Min.

They almost treated her like an esteemed ancestor, worshipping her.

The money Su Yong had obtained from Su Min’s real father over the years was paid back with interest to Su Min.

Moreover, Su Yong’s family took the initiative to propose renovating the old house left by her grandmother and then respectfully moved Su Min in.

On the household registration, Su Yong was still listed as Su Min’s ”guardian,” but Su Min was already independent.

A thirteen- or fourteen-year-old girl living alone in the newly renovated old house was not harassed by anyone.

Of course, there were some who didn’t believe in superstitions, hoodlums who climbed walls in the dead of night.

But, the next day, these people could be seen rolling and crawling with gifts to Su Min’s courtyard, kneeling on the ground, kowtowing and begging for mercy, just pleading with Immortal Nun Su not to summon ghosts to scare them anymore!

Witnessing such a scene, not just the people of Su Family Bay but villagers miles around began to believe in Su Min as the ”Immortal Nun Su.”

Following this, there were those who not only truly respected her but also came to make a scene, approaching Su Min with claims of supernatural occurrences in their homes.

What with claims of weasels making trouble at home, children crying without end, elderly suddenly becoming possessed... essentially, Su Min could help with anything.

The name of ”Immortal Nun Su” grew increasingly renowned.

Most astonishingly, while acting as a witch, Su Min continued her education.

She studied all the way through college, where she even took Chemistry, a subject clearly grounded in science.

Su Min: ...Even a swindler needs scientific knowledge, right? Otherwise, how could she create ”special effects” like spontaneous combustion or explosions?

After graduating from college, Su Min did not stay in the city but returned to her hometown.

Su Min’s real parents did try to arrange her life, but Su Min put on a show of a haunting for her blood relatives as well.

With several years of professional study, Su Min’s ”business” skills were much stronger than they were at thirteen.

The effects were more impressive too, scaring her real mother into developing high blood pressure—sob sob, who can handle it when you flick on a light and suddenly there’s a ghostly figure in the bathroom mirror!

Father Su and Mrs. Su were thoroughly frightened and didn’t dare to provoke Su Min again.

Su Min returned to her hometown and continued her role as a witch.

Villagers muttered behind her back: ”This girl’s all spooky and such, even though she’s good-looking and went to college, no one, no one would dare to marry her!”

Just when everyone thought Immortal Nun Su would remain a spinster, she ended up getting married.

The identity of her partner was even more astonishing—a Taoist from Guiyuan Temple!

Not one of those charlatans posing as Taoists from the outside, but a government-certified true Taoist.

”Aren’t Taoists supposed to be celibate, how can they get married?” The villagers didn’t understand the different types of Taoists and just found it absurd.

It was the pilgrims who had come to watch the Taoist wedding who helped explain: ”Taoists are divided into Quanzhen Sect and Zhengyi Sect, Taoists from the Quanzhen Sect cannot marry, but those from the Zhengyi Sect can.”

”Guiyuan Temple belongs to the Zhengyi Sect, and the temple master, True Master Qingfeng, is proficient in talismans, of course, he can marry!”

The villagers were half-understanding, but seeing the grand wedding of He Qingfeng and Su Min, with many Taoists in Taoist robes coming to offer congratulations, and even the county’s religious department leaders attending the ceremony, everyone knew their marriage was legitimate and lawful!
