The Female Lead Decides to Act Wickedly

Chapter 19: Chapter 019: Return

He Tiantian never considered becoming a doctor, but still, during her college entrance exams, she scored exceptionally well and was accepted into the medical university in the provincial city.

Five years of undergraduate study, three years for a master’s degree, along with regulated training and internships, to obtain a medical practitioner’s license, He Tiantian would need to stay in the provincial city for at least a decade.

If she happened to meet someone she liked, she might even settle down in the provincial city.

He Hongtu and Tian Zhenzhen were reluctant to part with their daughter and moreover, the county was too small, severely hindering their career growth.

He Hongtu felt that, with the capabilities of their family of three, they could totally open a larger, more upscale health club.

But resources in the county were limited.

No matter how hard He Hongtu and his wife tried, they had reached a saturation point.

”Move to the provincial city!”

He Hongtu was very decisive and, after several days of thought, he came up with the idea.

”Mm-hmm, moving to the provincial city would be good,” Tian Zhenzhen said. Although she was reluctant to leave the place she had lived in for half a lifetime, she wanted to be with her daughter even more.

And besides, Tian Zhenzhen was very clear in her heart that the reason their health club had become such a miraculous establishment was mainly due to He Tiantian.

Over the years, He Hongtu and Tian Zhenzhen had learned some skills in traditional Chinese medicine from He Tiantian, enabling them to perform independent acupuncture, cupping, and concoct medicinal meals.

But it was He Tiantian who possessed superb medical skill.

Those elderly people or critically ill patients with incurable diseases who found their way to He’s Club came solely because of He Tiantian.

If He Tiantian left, leaving only He Hongtu and his wife behind, this favorable situation would cease to exist.

He’s Club was very likely to revert to its previous state.

For several years, He Hongtu and Tian Zhenzhen had acted as ”Divine Doctors,” providing much relief to patients tormented by their ailments, and their vanity and sense of achievement were greatly fulfilled.

They couldn’t return to those days when people pointed their fingers and called them ”scammers.”

He Tiantian had once said, ”What if I don’t go to the provincial city? With my medical skill, I don’t really need to go to school to learn more—”

With her medical skill, it would be more like she should be teaching the teachers!

Before He Tiantian could finish her self-praising remark, He Hongtu interrupted her bluntly, ”No, you must go to university!”

Of course, He Hongtu knew his daughter had real talent.

But, to thrive in this society, not only talent was needed; formal education, networking, professional certificates, and so forth, none could be overlooked.

Moreover, precisely because his daughter had great talent, she deserved to go to a place where opportunities were broader.

For them, letting their daughter stay in such a small and broken county town was to bury her talent.

Though He Hongtu and Tian Zhenzhen were not those traditionally sacrificial parents, their love for their daughter was undoubted.

If possible, they also hoped their daughter would be accomplished, able to live a respected life, at ease with food and clothing.

And later, perhaps find an equally excellent son-in-law and have a healthy, adorable little baby...

Whenever He Hongtu and his wife thought of these things, they suddenly felt—that sort of life would truly be complete!

Their daughter had to go to the provincial city, and they couldn’t bear to be separated from her, so, it was decided—they would move!

...

A month later, a mid-sized store with over four hundred square meters split over two floors was being furiously renovated in a high-end residential community in the provincial city.

Merchant neighbors and passing pedestrians or residents grew curious when they saw the storefront had changed tenants again, casting extra glances whenever they walked by.

A nosy and enthusiastic lady would even lift the barrier curtain and rush into the shop to inquire, ”What are you opening here? Rent isn’t cheap at this spot. Some previous tenants couldn’t even make enough to cover the rent, not to mention turning a profit!”

Physical stores are having a tough time nowadays.

Especially after the pandemic, many shops that had been around for over a decade, including brand franchises, closed down.

And the state of smaller, independent merchants was even more pitiful.

”This is a health club, specializing in—” Out of years of professional habit, He Hongtu always met these curious elders with a friendly smile.

However, he had barely said ”health club” when the inquisitive lady’s expression changed, muttering, ”Another scammer selling health products, no wonder they can afford such expensive rent.”

Without waiting for He Hongtu to say another word, the lady hastily left, fearing that if she didn’t move quickly, she would be harangued into buying some health products by a scammer.

He Hongtu: ...

”Haha, I told you before, there’s no need to do things like in the past. We’re different now, we don’t need to actively seek out new clients!”

Tian Zhenzhen saw her husband looking completely baffled and couldn’t help but burst into laughter.

Even He Tiantian, who had come to help, couldn’t help covering her mouth and giggling.

She threw down her rag and grabbed He Hongtu’s arm, ”Dad, it’s time to change your old habits. Our family, although selling health products, will never lack customers!”

So, there was no need for He Hongtu to sell products through ”enthusiasm,” ”service,” and the like as before.

If it ever came to that, then her years as the little Divine Doctor would’ve been in vain.

Sure enough, when the health club was newly renovated and officially opened, the doorway was piled high with flower baskets from customers and friends.

Off-duty detectives in plain clothes, professors exuding an air of academia, noblewomen in brand names, bosses driving luxury cars... all came to celebrate the grand opening.

But that wasn’t even the most exaggerated part.

At noon, a bus loaded with a full fifty or sixty elderly people drove down from the County, arriving all dusty and travel-worn.

”Congratulations! Wishing you prosperous business!”

”Little He, that’s not very kind of you, secretly moving the club to the Provincial City!”

”The usual set, please!”

”No worries if there’s no buffet, just let Tiantian prepare some ’herb packs’ for me, I’ll stew them at home!”

”Exactly, exactly, can a living person be pissed to death?!”

”We’ll visit the store every month or two to get new ’herb packs’ and take the opportunity to enjoy the Provincial City!”

People chattered non-stop, making the store incredibly lively.

Card swipers swiped, QR code scanners scanned... the eagerness to pay was as if they weren’t buying health products worth thousands, but sale-priced eggs from the supermarket.

The scene was so astonishing that onlookers were left agape.

Holy shit!

What was the deal with this health product seller, anyway?

But soon, the good reputation of He’s Club for medicinal meals spread quietly through the Provincial City.

”Ding! Completion of World Script Improvement Task! Scriptwriter He Tiantian receives 1 point reward!”

”Scriptwriter, you may choose to return to the real world or continue to accept new scripts!”

He Tiantian never married in her lifetime, but she experienced several beautiful and pure romances.

After saying farewell to her parents, who had become universally praised as the ”Great Kind Man” and ”Living Bodhisattva,” He Tiantian also aged slowly.

At the last moment of her life, suddenly, a long-lost mechanical voice rang in her mind!

”...Student Xiao D, if I return to the real world, what will become of this world in the book? Will I, will I retain the emotions and memories of this lifetime?”

He Tiantian truly couldn’t bear to leave.

How she wished that this world really existed, and that her parents were really her parents.

”This world within the book has now become an independent Small World and will operate on its own. After your Divine Soul departs, your emotions will be extracted. Tiantian, this is for your own good, retaining emotions each time would drive you mad!”

”Student Xiao D, you mean to say, I can retain emotions!” He Tiantian grasped another key point.

Student Xiao D: ...

”You can. But for your own good, you should still try to extract them, otherwise—” your various emotions will affect each other, and you will eventually lose yourself and completely break down.

”I want to keep just this one! Is that okay?” He Tiantian said earnestly.

”...Alright! If you insist!” Student Xiao D spread his hands.

Immediately after, He Tiantian felt her Divine Soul leaving that world and entering into a void space.

And in that originally empty space, suddenly a huge bookshelf appeared.

There were no books on the shelf.

But at that moment, the fist-sized orb, Student Xiao D, slightly shook its body.

A streak of golden light flashed, and a book appeared on the top shelf of the bookcase.

He Tiantian floated over and took a closer look, only to find the cover of the book inscribed with a line of text: ”Evil Supporting Female Character is a Scammer” Author: Beauty Xuanji

The next instant, those words turned into powder and were replaced by a new title: ”Female Supporting Character is a City Little Fairy Doctor” Scriptwriter: He Tiantian
