Sorry, Our Captain Is a True All-Rounder

Chapter 115: Chapter 115: They Are Courting Death

Lin Jingjing and Shi Feng were the last to return, a full hour later than the other three.

As soon as they got back, the two of them collapsed onto the ground without a care for how dirty it was.

But judging by their tattered, filthy appearance, a little more dirt wouldn’t have made a difference.

”Damn, they really know how to cause trouble...” Lin Jingjing couldn’t help but complain as she recalled what had just happened.

Her hair was a mess, and her neck and face were covered in bloody scratches. She looked like she’d been through hell.

”What happened?” Mo Xuan asked, seeing the pale looks on their faces.

Shi Feng still had tears on his face; it was obvious he had just been crying.

”The five from the Sixth Corps.” Shi Feng opened his mouth to speak, his voice trembling. If you looked closely, you could see his body was still shaking. ”They decided to rest right in a snake nest, and they even smashed the eggs...”

Hearing this, the other three quickly gathered around him, placing their hands on him and patting him reassuringly.

”It’s okay now. You made it out, didn’t you?”

”Don’t be scared. A snake bite just hurts for a moment. It won’t kill you.”

”Conquer your fear, and you won’t be afraid anymore.”

One after another, they offered words of comfort, their warm hands patting his body again and again.

The fear and terror in his heart slowly began to fade.

But whenever Shi Feng thought of those slimy snakes, his body couldn’t help but tremble.

Lin Jingjing ran a hand through her messy hair, her face dark as she said, ”Those guys truly aren’t afraid of dying.”

Hearing Lin Jingjing’s ice-cold words, the others knew the five from the Sixth Corps must have done something to make Sister Lin so angry.

The story began when they were delivering meals to the Sixth Corps.

The Fifth and Sixth Corps were stationed relatively close to each other. After delivering to the Fifth Corps, the two of them headed for the Sixth.

Their mission would have been complete as soon as they handed the meals over to the five of them. But just as they were about to leave, they suddenly heard a young man from the squad say, ”Captain, there are a lot of white eggs here.”

’White eggs?’

Hearing this, everyone looked over. Amidst the dry leaves nearby were white eggs, tons and tons of them.

Lin Jingjing and Shi Feng looked over and knew at a glance that they were snake eggs.

’If this place is full of snake eggs, then there must be snakes everywhere nearby.’

Realizing this, the two of them immediately told the five from the Sixth Corps, ”This isn’t a safe place. We need to leave right away.”

”Right, this could be a snake nest.”

Hearing their words, their captain, an arrogant man, simply used his spiritual power to crush more than half of the snake eggs. He nonchalantly continued eating and said, ”What’s there to be afraid of?”

Lin Jingjing and Shi Feng stared at the crushed eggs, their eyes widening in disbelief.

”Are you crazy?!” Shi Feng’s face was a mask of disbelief.

”Aren’t you afraid the snakes will come for revenge?!”

”Snakes don’t hold grudges. What’s crushed is crushed,” the Sixth Corps’ captain, Chen Hao, said with a disdainful look. ”What are you so afraid of?”

”If any snakes do show up, we’ll just kill them, right?”

Seeing their arrogant and dismissive expressions, Lin Jingjing took a deep breath, not wanting to waste any more words on them.

Just as she was about to leave with Shi Feng, she suddenly heard a rustling sound.

Soon, they were surrounded by snakes. Being black, they blended in almost perfectly with their surroundings. If not for the touch of white at the very tips of their tails, they would have been nearly impossible to spot.

At the sound, they were instantly on alert. Lin Jingjing and Shi Feng quickly raised their laser guns and took defensive positions.

A light sphere flew overhead, casting an even brighter glow and illuminating the entire area as if it were daytime.

And in that moment, the surrounding snakes became much more visible.

”They’re White-tailed Snakes!” a girl’s panicked voice rang out.

”This kind is the most vengeful!”

Chen Hao’s expression soured when he saw they were completely surrounded by White-tailed Snakes.

It was true that some snakes didn’t hold grudges, but White-tailed Snakes were different. They were the most vengeful of all.

Moreover, these snakes lay their eggs in communal nests. They are at their most aggressive during the incubation period.

With so many eggs smashed by Chen Hao, how could the White-tailed Snakes possibly let it go?

”Everyone, on guard!” Chen Hao shouted, pulling out his laser gun.

The White-tailed Snakes were already enraged, and they lunged at the group.

Lin Jingjing fired her laser gun in sweeping bursts, shooting anything that got close.

The White-haired snake is venomous. Although its bite isn’t immediately fatal, the venom causes excruciating pain.

Eventually, the venom takes full effect, and the victim suffocates to death.

This was the White-haired snakes’ nest. Their only option was to fight the snakes off while retreating.

Their half-eaten meals were spilled on the ground because of the White-haired snakes’ appearance, a sight that pained them deeply.

’And we haven’t even filled our stomachs.’

Lin Jingjing was busy clearing a path at the front, all while looking after Shi Feng, who was right behind her.

Surrounded by so many snakes, Shi Feng’s face had turned pale.

But he forced himself to keep going, determined not to hold Lin Jingjing back.

Lin Jingjing saw that none of the laser bullets he fired were hitting any snakes, and she knew just how terrified he was.

But the snake nest was huge, and they had only made it about halfway out.

Lin Jingjing had no other choice. She had to summon Big Tiger from her Spiritual World.

After summoning Big Tiger, Lin Jingjing grabbed Shi Feng and threw him directly onto the tiger’s back.

”Big Tiger, get him out of here!” Lin Jingjing shouted. With a loud roar, the tiger bolted toward the exit.

But how could the enraged White-haired snakes let them go? All the nearby snakes swarmed toward them, not even sparing the tiger.

They bit Big Tiger, injecting their venom.

As a creature from the Spiritual World, Big Tiger was unaffected by the bites and venom.

But Lin Jingjing was a different story. The injected venom directly caused her head to throb with pain.

She endured the pain, forcing herself not to recall the tiger.

”What are you doing? Run!” Lin Jingjing yelled at the others, who were still standing in place. Her face was a mask of irritation.

”Aren’t you going to run?” Her voice was cold and detached.

”I know, we’re trying to run, aren’t we?” the girl shot back while firing her weapon.

But tangled up with all these snakes, how could they possibly get away easily?

Seeing so many White-haired snakes, Lin Jingjing summoned Xiao Lü as well.

Xiao Lü was an Emerald King Snake. Lin Jingjing hoped it could intimidate the frenzied White-haired snakes.

The Emerald King Snake, now shrunken down, coiled around Lin Jingjing’s body. It let out a series of hisses at the other snakes.

Its black-bean-sized eyes stared coldly at the White-haired snakes before it.

[Withdraw!]

Perhaps the Emerald King Snake’s presence did have some intimidating effect, as the White-haired snakes didn’t press their attack as tightly.
