Sorry, Our Captain Is a True All-Rounder

Chapter 109: Chapter 109: Blue Crystal Ore

”Not bad. At least he managed to save his own life,” Yun Yiyou praised.

Everyone looked at her when they heard this, then turned their eyes back to the large screen.

Meanwhile, in the office, Captain Li clapped his hands. ”This pretty boy isn’t half bad.”

Looking at Shi Feng’s face, he suddenly remembered Shi Feng rubbing his nose and saying, ”Dodging isn’t weakness. It’s a skill that needs practice.”

’Looks like this guy is pretty confident in his own evasion skills.’

The three of them dragged the large bear back. Lin Jingjing set down the wooden spatula she had fashioned from a tree trunk and began stirring the chicken in the pot, which was covered in foam.

Lin Jingjing looked up and saw the massive bear behind them. She smiled, walked over to take a look, and said, ”Such a huge bear. Looks like dinner is sorted for tonight.”

”Are bear paws tasty?” Shi Feng asked, glancing at the creature’s massive paw.

Back in civilized society, they had only ever seen bears in zoos. This was their first time seeing one in the wild, let alone killing it.

”Who knows?” Feng He shrugged.

”But we can find out today,” Shi Feng said with a grin, patting the huge bear.

”I don’t think so,” Lin Jingjing said, shaking her head. ”It’s too big. We won’t be able to process it properly.”

”Besides, there isn’t enough time.”

”Ah, what a shame,” Shi Feng said with a sigh. ”I really wanted to give it a try.”

”Alright, get back to work. We’re running out of time,” Lin Jingjing said, patting him on the head.

They all got busy, each working on their tasks in silence.

With the fighting over and the team just cooking, the online viewers found it incredibly boring and started to leave.

The viewership plummeted from tens of millions to just a few million. The VIPs in the viewing room also switched to a different live feed.

After landing on the Fourth Corps’ channel, they switched over.

The five members of the Fourth Corps had no idea they had just walked into major trouble. They had wandered into a cave filled with giant vampire bats.

The bats hung upside down from the stone walls of the cave, their eyes shut in a deep slumber.

As the five members of the Fourth Corps entered, the large, hovering light orb followed them, instantly illuminating the entire cave as if it were day.

Upon seeing the bats, the people in the viewing room began to whisper amongst themselves.

Beisang, however, watched the giant vampire bats, stroking the back of one hand with the other.

’There should be Blue Crystal Ore inside.’

Not even the First Corps had ever explored this cave.

”Are you sure there are fragments in here?” asked a woman walking beside the leader, her laser gun at the ready as she scanned their surroundings warily.

”It’s marked on the map,” the man replied, studying the map in front of him intently.

”But it looks so creepy in here,” another woman added. The sound of water droplets hitting the ground one by one was enough to make one’s skin crawl.

Strange, intermittent noises also echoed through the cavern.

”There isn’t... something in this cave, is there?” a man at the rear asked, his brow furrowed as he scanned the darkness.

”No way. It’s too quiet for that,” the man in the lead said confidently.

Everyone in the viewing room fell silent at his words. The commander of the Fourth Corps buried his face in his hands in embarrassment.

If only they’d look up, they’d realize the cave didn’t just have a problem—it had a huge one.

”Blanwen, your squad is pretty arrogant, aren’t they?” The speaker was a woman from the Second Corps. Dressed in a white uniform, she was leaning back in her chair with her legs crossed, looking completely at ease.

”They’re young and full of spirit. It’s normal,” Blanwen said calmly, taking a sip of tea from the table beside him.

Although he was mortified, he had to project an air of confidence.

”That’s not being young and spirited. It’s a clear case of their ambition outweighing their ability,” Alderick, the commander of the Fifth Corps, said with a sneer.

”They’re almost at the deepest part of the cave. Do you think they’ll make it out?” Beisang asked slowly.

The five of them continued forward, completely oblivious to the pairs of crimson eyes that had begun to flicker open on the ceiling behind them.

They walked deeper still, completely unaware.

Watching this, Yun Yiyou suddenly thought of the five-person culinary squad. ’If it were them, they would have probably sensed something was wrong the moment they stepped into the cave, wouldn’t they?’

When they reached the middle of the cave, it opened into a large cavern. The entire space was filled with Blue Crystal Ore, all of it emitting a soft blue glow.

It was all unmined. Blue Crystal Ore had a wide range of uses. Once refined, it could serve as a power source for mechas or be used in laser guns and cannons.

Furthermore, Blue Crystal Ore was not abundant, so finding a deposit required a good deal of luck.

The five from the Fourth Corps were indeed lucky. Unfortunately, their good luck was accompanied by some very bad luck.

The five of them stood frozen, their eyes wide as they stared at the massive field of Blue Crystal Ore before them.

”No wonder B6 Star has always been a favorite planet for mutant beasts. To think it can produce Blue Crystal Ore in a place like this,” one of the women said, her face flush with excitement. She drew a short blade and walked forward.

She used the blade to pry a few chunks loose. Holding the Blue Crystal Ore and feeling the energy it contained, the woman grew even more excited.

”This Blue Crystal Ore is thirty-year grade!” the woman exclaimed to the others. But as soon as the words left her mouth, she froze. Her eyes widened, her expression a mixture of shock and terror.

She had seen the giant vampire bats.

The bats were standing on the ground, their wings wrapped around their bodies like cloaks, their crimson eyes fixed on the intruders.

Pair after pair of crimson eyes began to light up in the darkness. There were too many to count.

”Lu He, what is it?” her squadmate asked with a frown, seeing her terrified expression.

The woman turned to follow her gaze, and what she saw made her jump.

”Shit!” Without another word, the woman raised her laser gun into a defensive stance.

When the other three men turned to look, their faces also turned deathly pale.

”So many...” the team’s leader said in disbelief, staring at the horde of giant vampire bats.

He glanced back at the Blue Crystal Ore and understood instantly. Blue Crystal Ore could be used as a power source for mechas, laser guns, cannons...

And where there was Blue Crystal Ore, creatures like these giant vampire bats were sure to be found.

”Fuck!” the leader couldn’t help but curse. ”We’ve stumbled right into the territory of giant vampire bats!”

”Everyone, on guard!”

the leader shouted, then began to back away toward the Blue Crystal Ore, laser gun raised.

As they retreated, the bats advanced, quickly filling the open space.
