Chapter 1296: Chapter 7: Obsession

This shadow moved at an incredible speed, like a tiger shark slicing through the water.

Su Xiao’s pupils slightly contracted. Through his goggles, he judged that this was not a shark, but a human in a diving suit.

The other person wore a diving apparatus, and the black diving suit wrapped them tightly. Just in terms of underwater speed, Su Xiao was not even half as fast as the opponent.

The power of firearms is greatly reduced underwater. Dragon Slash appeared in Su Xiao’s hand. Judging by the opponent’s intentions, there was a high chance they were here for him. In other words, the opponent was likely a Contractor from Big Mom’s forces.

It’s obvious that the opponent’s goal, like Su Xiao’s, was to destroy ships underwater.

If the opponent didn’t actively approach, Su Xiao wouldn’t bother with them. However, it seemed this guy had the idea of killing Su Xiao. The drop rate of the Scarlet Card in an open world isn’t low.

Splish splash～

The shadow swept past, causing the surrounding water currents to rush violently.

Su Xiao held his sword without moving, staying vertically aligned as he awaited the opponent’s attack.

With a swish, a thin spear harpoon shot towards Su Xiao. He caught it barehanded; it wasn’t very fast.

As soon as Su Xiao grabbed the harpoon, its tail end bounced open. Just as he was about to throw it away, a feminine voice came through.

”I don’t mean any harm. You’re that ’Third Tier Hope,’ right? Let’s not interfere with each other, mwah mwah.”

In a string of silvery laughter, the harpoon in Su Xiao’s hand shattered. It was a recording from the shadow. Her intention was clear: they should destroy each other’s camp ships without direct conflict.

Of course, Su Xiao wouldn’t refuse this request. Her underwater speed was very fast, likely due to mastering underwater skills.

The shadow flashed away, disappearing from Su Xiao’s view. She was a Fourth Tier female Contractor with a Buddha Nature personality.

Su Xiao put away Dragon Slash. He was not very skilled at underwater combat, and as he prepared to sabotage enemy ships, two figures caught his eye.

Gulu gulu, a string of bubbles rose from Su Xiao’s mouthpiece, and his mouth twitched a few times.

Not far away, Bubu Wang was swimming fast with a mouthpiece in its mouth, its fur floating in the seawater.

Bubu Wang paddled expertly, which might be ’some kind of talent.’ Behind Bubu Wang was A Mu. Although A Mu had soaked in the swamp for a long time a few days ago, this Honest Niu couldn’t swim at all.

A Mu could hold its breath for a long time, but unfortunately, it couldn’t swim, so it had to grab onto Bubu Wang’s tail.

Being grabbed by a large hand on its tail, Bubu Wang’s experience was imaginable. Therefore, after dog-paddling a few times with its front paws, its legs would instinctively kick A Mu in the face, with every kick landing on A Mu’s cow face.

Bubu Wang felt helpless; it was an instinctive reaction. A Mu was innocent, its cow head echoing with every kick.

This duo could no longer be described as hilarious. They were heading straight for Su Xiao, seeming to deliver a ’hilarious strike.’

Su Xiao waved at Bubu Wang, signaling them to follow, then swam towards the sea surface.

Six ships remained under Big Mom’s forces. From the current situation, both sides had started a boarding battle.

Su Xiao swam under one of Big Mom’s ships. An Alchemy Bomb appeared in his hand. He activated it and stuck it under the hull.

Su Xiao planted four Alchemy Bombs under each enemy ship. It took a full ten minutes to plant the bombs under all six enemy ships.

After creating some distance, Su Xiao remotely detonated the bombs. One after another, the muffled sounds of explosions rang out.

At this moment, a total of ten ships remained on both sides, all joined together with a red substance, forming a large landing area.

This red substance was solidified syrup, a Devil Fruit Ability of Charlotte Perospero. Speiro’s ability was extremely troublesome. The syrup he made could reach a hardness comparable to steel. Its only weakness was fire, or rather, it feared high temperatures. Syrup would soften when heated, eventually melting. Fire Fist Ace was Speiro’s nemesis, having pinned him down numerous times.

Once these ships were connected, the pirates on both sides clashed into a chaotic brawl, blood and limbs flying everywhere.

At the center of the battlefield, two men over three meters tall were locked in melee. One man’s entire body was chiseled with muscle, nearly bare torso. The other was thin and lanky, like a three-meter-tall stick.

The lanky man was Charlotte Perospero, while the muscular man was Pika.

Pika wielded a mighty two-meter-long greatsword, his bare torso a purplish-black, covered with Armament Haki on both body and weapon.

Speiro held a lollipop-shaped cane, formed by his Devil Fruit Ability. This cane was also over two meters long, stronger than steel, and now also covered with Armament Haki.

”I’ve long heard of one of Doflamingo’s reputable subordinates. Didn’t expect to face you today.”

Speiro extended a lizard-like tongue to lick the cane. Around him spread red syrup within a ten-meter radius, engulfing a large group of pirates. These pirates had already turned into candy, their muscles, bones, and flesh all converted to an edible form.

Speiro had a vile habit of candyfying his foes before enjoying them slowly.

”I’m truly curious about your flavor...”

Speiro sneered, swinging his cane to shatter a candyfied pirate’s skull, scattering fragments of red candy.

Speiro grabbed a piece, savoring it in his mouth. Human flesh turned into candy tasted quite delightful, or so Speiro believed.

”...”

Pika remained silent throughout. His voice was naturally high-pitched, aware of its comical nature. Facing the offspring of a Four Emperor, he didn’t want to embarrass his Young Master in front of them, hence his silence.

”Unexpected silence.”

Speiro continued taunting. He delighted in toying with opponents, especially when holding the upper hand.

Yet, something caught Speiro’s attention: half a minute ago, he felt a series of tremors under the Small Boat Island, causing it to start sinking slowly.

Both Speiro and Pika feared seawater as Devil Fruit Ability Users, and losing the landing meant the fight was over.

Shing!

A pale blue blade aura sliced through the hull, heading straight towards the sky.

Seeing this pale blue blade aura, Pika’s expression changed. With his swordsmanship, he could gauge the aura’s power.

Shing, shing, shing...

Countless blade auras slashed up from beneath the Small Boat Island, severing the limbs of many unlucky pirates. Some were hit below the belt, and the heartrending cries made Speiro and Pika instinctively close their legs.

”Your people?”

Speiro looked at Pika. Pika was stunned, and Speiro became even more puzzled upon seeing Pika’s reaction.

However, the blade auras continued to surge from below. Speiro knew his syrup, as strong as metal, couldn’t withstand these cleaves.

The sinking of the Small Boat Island accelerated, leaving Speiro and Pika not keen to continue fighting.

Speiro hadn’t revoked his ability. Currently, no intact ship could be found; removing the red syrup would sink the Small Boat Island even faster.
