Chapter 1274: Chapter 89: Energy Blocking

The blue smoke drifted, and the Dragon of Resurrection Spirit in Su Xiao’s hand gradually turned gray-white, with the life energy inside showing signs of drying up.

Last time, Su Xiao absorbed about one-third of the energy from the Dragon of Resurrection Spirit, increasing his Blue Steel Shadow Ability from Level 30 to Level 39.

This time, Su Xiao absorbed the remaining two-thirds of the energy completely. With the increase in his power, the maximum amount of energy he could absorb at one time also significantly increased.

However, even after absorbing all the energy from the Dragon of Resurrection Spirit, the Blue Steel Shadow Ability didn’t see a significant leap in improvement, or rather, it only increased by one level.

The energy required to increase from Level 39 to Level 40 for Blue Steel Shadow was astonishing, even exceeding the total energy needed to go from Level 30 to Level 39.

With a crisp crack, the Dragon of Resurrection Spirit in Su Xiao’s hand shattered, turning into a sky full of crystal fragments that gradually disappeared in the air.

Su Xiao closed his eyes tightly, sitting cross-legged on the bed. The blue smoke on his arm dissipated, and the grinning skull, which had swelled to the size of a basketball, disappeared.

The Blue Steel Shadow energy surged within Su Xiao, leaving him with only 2 points of mana. This situation occurred because almost all of his mana had been converted into Blue Steel Shadow energy.

The nature of the Blue Steel Shadow energy within him hadn’t changed, but this energy was continuously being compressed, which wasn’t a change in quantity but a change in quality.

Su Xiao didn’t feel anything unusual within him, so he chose to quietly wait for changes in the Blue Steel Shadow energy.

After a full hour, the Blue Steel Shadow energy within him finally calmed down.

[Blue Steel Shadow Ability has been raised to Level 40.]

...

Fully absorbing the Dragon of Resurrection Spirit only increased the Blue Steel Shadow Ability by one level, but Su Xiao wasn’t disappointed because he felt a significant change in the ability.

[Blue Steel Shadow: Level 40 (Active Skill)]

Usage Conditions: After activating (Blue Steel Shadow), the Hunter consumes 120 mana points per minute, and it automatically deactivates when mana falls below 1%.

Skill Effect: After activating (Blue Steel Shadow), each close combat attack burns 230 mana points of the enemy and causes true damage equal to 1.6 times the burned mana points (368 true damage). The enemy will experience intense pain from the mana burn, and while enduring the severe pain, there is an 18% chance of triggering one of three abnormal statuses: paralysis, immobilization, or dizziness, with a duration of 0.2 to 3 seconds.

Defensive Form: Song of Pride (Active), which can generate energy shields in any shape to defend against enemy attacks. The strength of the energy shield is proportional to the consumed mana, with a single mana consumption limit of 700 points (an increase of 100 points).

External Emitter Form: Energy Blocking (Active), insufficient Blue Steel Shadow energy strength, this ability cannot be used currently.

Note: Blue Steel Shadow Skill can awaken this ability at Level 40, and can use it at Level 50.

...

As Su Xiao previously sensed, the Blue Steel Shadow Ability showed significant changes, with all the values increased, allowing him to understand the ability better.

Firstly, the Blue Steel Shadow’s basic effects are threefold: annihilating enemy mana, causing true damage, and having a certain chance to control the enemy.

As for the Song of Pride ability in the defensive form, it is another way of operating the Blue Steel Shadow energy, belonging to the advanced usage category.

As for the newly appeared ’Energy Blocking,’ Su Xiao is not yet clear about the effect of this ability, as it is only at the initial awakening stage. To use it freely, the Blue Steel Shadow Ability needs to reach Level 50.

Energy Blocking is an active ability, which is quite interesting. From the name of the ability, it is evident that its main function is to block energy.

Block Su Xiao’s energy? Unlikely, so it only leaves the possibility of blocking enemy energy. As to what form the blocking takes, whether it requires close combat or long-range, that is unknown.

If this is a long-range ability, it would be very powerful. Blocking the enemy’s energy, especially mages, would essentially mean a magic ban ability.

A mage who is banned from magic, no, even if a Mage Lord is magic banned, Su Xiao could slice the opponent in seconds unless the opponent’s close combat ability could fend him off.

It is too early to fantasize about these things now. It is very difficult to raise the Blue Steel Shadow Ability to Level 50. With the energy needed for the Blue Steel Shadow Ability now, even given a dozen Dragon of Resurrection Spirits, it might not be enough to raise it to Level 50.

As the level gradually increases, the energy required by the Blue Steel Shadow increases incrementally. The energy needed to increase from Level 40 to Level 41 exceeds the total energy needed to go from Level 30 to Level 40. It’s that outrageous.

No wonder the Shadow of Annihilation Law developed the dangerous ’Core of Devour’ ability. It makes sense; with such a huge energy demand, no one can afford to rely solely on soul crystals to obtain energy.

With the Core of Devour, it’s different. In times of difficulty, the Core of Devour can not only devour energy, but it’s also a lethal weapon to kill enemies.

Su Xiao exhaled a long breath. Overall, his current strength is significantly stronger than when he first left the original world. Pursuing further strength enhancement in the near future seems improbable, as the resources he obtained are largely converted into strength, and the remaining resources either have unknown functions or are not easy to deal with.

[Legendary Honor ×1]

[”Moon God Silver Ring (Suit 1/2)”]

[???]

Three items remained. Su Xiao wasn’t planning to sell the Legendary Honor, as it would have great use in the future. After all, every time he undergoes a world, he can forge a piece of equipment for free (Brother Reed).

As for the ”Moon God Silver Ring,” putting it on the trading market for consignment would suffice, while the last [???] gave Su Xiao a headache just looking at it.

Su Xiao, a veteran Hunter within Reincarnation Paradise, had never seen such a bizarre thing ever since entering it.

This thing didn’t even have a name; the whole shape was an irregular crystal, filled with crystal-clear smoke that sometimes formed the shape of a crown or a throne, constantly changing.

Upon returning to Reincarnation Paradise, Su Xiao tried identifying this thing. Given the precedent of [World Tree Ring], he had high expectations for it.

The identification result ’failed,’ not because Reincarnation Paradise couldn’t identify it, but because Su Xiao couldn’t afford the identification fee.

[To fully identify ’???’, it requires 600,000 Paradise Coins, Soul Crystal (Large) ×10, Throne source of gas, Crown Water Brocade, Cold legacy of kings.]

With Su Xiao’s financial resources, he could barely scrape together 600,000 Paradise Coins and ten Soul Crystals (Large). However, as for Throne source of gas, Crown Water Brocade, Cold legacy of kings, he had no way of obtaining these items or equipment.

He had heard of these three pieces of equipment, which formed a golden suit, as famed as the Demon Hunting Suit, known as the Ice King Set. For Ice Element Mage Lords, the Ice King Set’s value, exceeds even three high-rated legendary level pieces of equipment.

Of course, this value applies to Ice Element Mage Lords. For those skill-oriented Ice Element mages, the Ice King Set is trash, or rather, the set’s ability is too advanced for them. To the uninformed, a piece of gold worth 100,000 is more valuable than a rare mineral worth 10 million. That’s the principle.
