Reincarnation Paradise Park

Chapter 1259: Chapter 74: Acting Separately

The Undead Signal Flare ascended into the sky as Su Xiao looked up at it. It wouldn’t be long before the Undead Army arrived.

[Hint: You have entered the survival phase.]

The prompt from Reincarnation Paradise indicated that Su Xiao had passed the short initial phase and entered the second phase.

”Bu Bu, record this map.”

Su Xiao tossed a pointer to Bubu Wang and tasked him with recording the map of the Undead Empire.

Bubu Wang took out a camera and snapped several photos of the map in Su Xiao’s hand.

”Follow this route to the Dark Moon Marsh. After that, find a way to locate the Relic of the Annihilation Law near the Dark Moon Marsh. Most Undead Clan higher-ups know the location of the Relic of the Annihilation Law, which the Undead Clan refers to as ’Nortoec.’

’Nortoec’ is a transliteration; translated, it means ’Land Where Life Halts.’ The Relic of the Annihilation Law is a perilous place within the Undead Empire.

”Woof,”

Bubu Wang barked, meaning: ”Master, you don’t need my healing ability anymore?”

”Not for now.”

It’s not that Su Xiao didn’t need Bubu Wang’s healing ability, but someone had to find the Relic of the Annihilation Law. His original plan was to locate the Relic of the Annihilation Law during the initial phase and hide inside it before the survival phase arrived.

What he hadn’t expected was for the initial phase to be so brief, ending almost as soon as it began.

The combination of Bubu Wang and A Mu can handle most dangerous situations. Bubu Wang is good at reconnaissance, healing, negotiation, and other abilities, whereas A Mu is a Main Tank, close combatant, and controller. More importantly, they’re not human, making their actions far more convenient in the Undead Empire.

Bubu Wang walked away with A Mu following behind, looking back every three steps. The possibility that today’s farewell could be forever wasn’t far-fetched; in fact, it was highly probable.

Su Xiao was a Hunter in Reincarnation Paradise, capable of quickly becoming stronger, but he also had to bear greater risks, something he realized long ago.

Reincarnation Paradise is not a charity organization, nor is the original world a game instance. Every native here has their own beliefs and thoughts. For example, the small team leader he encountered on the Wall of God: in a ’game,’ he would only appear for a few seconds like an NPC, but in the real original world, such a small character might handle matters that could cost him his head with finesse.

What Su Xiao was about to face was countless undead armies. They feared neither life nor death and would combine into various battle formations to surround and kill Su Xiao. Leading them was an Undead Commander more seasoned and sinister than that small team leader.

Survival in this configuration is no simple task. The human sea tactic sounds ordinary, but it’s also the oldest and most commonly used tactic.

From now on, the only thing Su Xiao needed to do was survive and break through toward the Dark Moon Marsh until Bubu Wang and A Mu found the Relic of the Annihilation Law.

After Bubu Wang and A Mu walked into the distance, Su Xiao didn’t linger. One dog, one ox traveled in an arc toward the Dark Moon Marsh, significantly reducing the chance of encountering the undead army, while Su Xiao took a straight line to the Dark Moon Marsh, unusually rash but also allowing him to reach the Dark Moon Marsh faster.

The signal flare would not immediately bring the undead army; it would only expose Su Xiao’s general location.

Half an hour later, in a small village of the Undead Clan.

Around the village were fences, and at the village head hung an animal skull, resembling that of a goat. Wisps of cooking smoke rose from the village, but there wasn’t a single undead inside.

Su Xiao stood at the village entrance, staring at the smoke rising above. The deathly silence inside the village put him on alert.

Most buildings in the village were wooden structures. Some wooden pens held livestock of unknown breed.

The cooking smoke from above the village made it clear that the villagers had just left. They hadn’t had time to pack their belongings, as if someone had given an order, prompting all the villagers to abandon their tasks, extinguish the cooking fires, and leave the village hastily.

Su Xiao had passed several similar villages along his way; this was the fourth one, all showing similar signs.

For this situation to occur, there was only one possibility: the Undead Clan had guessed Su Xiao’s destination. They might not have known he wanted to reach the Relic of the Annihilation Law, but they certainly knew he was heading straight for the Dark Moon Marsh.

The undead orchestrating all this was definitely not simple-minded. They were applying pressure on Su Xiao, creating an invisible force, seemingly telling Su Xiao: ’I know where you want to go, and I’ll be waiting for you on your path.’

It appeared this way on the surface, but the reality was that the other party had two more purposes: to reduce the undead casualties and to block Su Xiao’s information channels, preventing him from acquiring intelligence from undead civilians.

If it were only one village, it might have been a coincidence. But four consecutive villages gave rise to only one possibility: the undead had already discovered Su Xiao’s general direction.

Boom.

A dull sound came from a dwelling within the village, and a Red Signal Flare ascended into the sky.

Su Xiao dashed into the village, quickly arriving at the dwelling that had launched the signal flare. The Blade Aura shone, and the home’s four walls were shattered, wooden fragments collapsing.

A figure leapt from the house’s remains. Dressed in leather armor, the figure had gray-white skin and green pupils, the most evident traits of the Undead Clan.

After bursting out from the building, this undead charged at Su Xiao without the slightest hesitation. Judging by his execution, this was undoubtedly an Undead Soldier, probably a scout.

The Undead Soldier had obviously been lying in wait here, just in anticipation of Su Xiao arriving near the village. When Su Xiao did get there, the Undead Soldier had only two tasks: launch the signal flare and try to hold Su Xiao as long as possible. Before accepting this mission, his officer had talked with him for a few minutes, roughly stating that if he died, his family’s livelihood would be secured, and his offspring prioritized in recruitment, ensuring a glorious future.

Therefore, the Undead Soldier charged at Su Xiao without hesitation.

With a clink, a half sphere spewing thick red smoke fell at the Undead Soldier’s feet. His forward momentum stalled as he thought of something and looked towards the sky.

There was no exploding signal flare in the sky. Su Xiao had already pulled it down with the Boundary Line and sliced it in two.

The Undead Soldier immediately drew a backup signal flare from his waist; it was an iron barrel with the thickness of a cup’s mouth, with a pull ring attached at the bottom.

Splatter!

Blood sprayed as an arm flew off. It was unclear when Su Xiao had moved in front of the Undead Soldier. Before the soldier could scream from the pain of his severed arm, Su Xiao sliced open his throat.

Scalding blood spurted meters away as Su Xiao sidestepped the spray, catching the signal flare mid-air. It might be useful later.

”Human, your slaying technique is very skilled.”

A deep male voice sounded. Su Xiao turned to see a burly undead standing on a distant dwelling, exuding an aura suggesting he wasn’t a soldier from the undead army. More notably, his human language was fluent, lacking any stiffness.

”The Undead King promised to reward the one who takes your head with the position of Xiang Lan. Coincidentally, I am very good at killing humans, though you are a strong one among humans.”

The burly undead grinned, showing a mouth full of flat teeth, looking fierce and terrifying.

”Remember my name, it’s Aou Nansa.”

Seconds later.

With a thud, Su Xiao tossed aside the half of the corpse he held. Aou Nansa’s blood-soaked face showed only terror.

”What was this guy’s name? Nansa something? Forget it; moving on is more important.”

Su Xiao shook off the blood from his hands and headed out of the village.
