World, start!

...

The information in the world introduction is extensive. First, the area Su Xiao is in is the New World, the most dangerous area in Pirate World, with unpredictable weather and pirates of immense strength everywhere. The Four Emperors rule the New World, and the Navy hesitates to enter, making it a paradise for pirates.

The Four Emperors are:

Whitebeard Edward Newgate, the strongest of the Four Emperors, indifferent to wealth and status, regards family (crew/subordinates) as his most valuable treasure.

Beast Kaido, with extremely abnormal survival ability, loves suicide.

Red Hair Shanks, has a heart as vast as the sea, most forces show him respect.

Charlotte Lingling, a prolific Four Emperors, strong individuals among her offspring, she’s formidable herself, obsessed with sweets.

Judging from the timeline, Whitebeard is still alive, and the other three have their conflicts, but no one dares to provoke Whitebeard lightly.

Whitebeard has his troubles. According to the spies he planted within the Navy, his second division captain, Fire Fist Ace, was captured. This news is unconfirmed, but it still worries Whitebeard.

Perhaps caught wind of this, the other three Four Emperors have been restless, particularly Charlotte Lingling and Beast Kaido, who have begun seizing territories as these Great Pirates have keenly sensed an impending shift in the New World’s dynamics.

Consequently, Charlotte Lingling set her sights on the affluent island of ’Dressrosa,’ but this island is the domain of Sea Rascal Donquixote Doflamingo, who collaborates with Beast Kaido.

Attacking Doflamingo’s turf is tantamount to directly provoking Kaido. Others don’t dare, but fellow Four Emperor Charlotte Lingling does, even though she and Kaido were part of the same pirate crew, they now have their own factions.

In their youth, they were members of the Rox Pirates, the maritime overlord before the Roger Era. One can imagine how powerful a pirate crew that young Four Emperors bowed to would be.

Now, they each have their own forces, and temporary breakups over territorial disputes are common.

Charlotte Lingling sent her son, Charlotte Katakuri, to seize Dressrosa, causing Doflamingo a headache. Though formidable, in terms of comprehensive strength, he’s no match for Katakuri.

Luckily, Doflamingo’s collaborator Kaido also sent reinforcements. Kaido dispatched one of his Three Disasters, Drought Jack, to assist.

Presently, the Dressrosa sea area sees Doflamingo and Jack vs. Charlotte Katakuri, as a storm brews. The sea waves are too high; all three are Devil Fruit Users. Devil Fruit Users can’t come into contact with sea water extensively, as it temporarily saps their strength, so all three hide in the cabin.

Charlotte Katakuri is a fierce character, the BIG MOM Pirates’ strongest next to captain Charlotte Lingling.

As for subordinate pirates and ships, both sides are roughly equal. If Doflamingo and Katakuri were to fight one-on-one, Katakuri has an eighty percent chance of victory. His strength is terrifying, plus he has a noteworthy helper—his brother Charlotte Cracker.

With two BIG MOM Pirates’ generals personally present, Doflamingo and Jack face significant pressure. In terms of strength, among them, Katakuri is the strongest. He’s awakened Paramecia-type Devil Fruits and possesses Three Color Haki, with his Observation Haki even allowing him to foresee the future.

Fighting such a foe, the pressure on Doflamingo and Jack can be imagined. Despite their not being lightweights, Katakuri is too formidable, especially with Charlotte Cracker’s assistance, known for his bounty of 860 million as a Great Pirate.

Both sides have engaged fully, as Katakuri’s forces already reach Dressrosa’s nearshore if not for the sudden storm, they might’ve reached Dressrosa Island by now.

Based on the world introduction, Su Xiao roughly comprehended the current situation. His task this time is somewhat special; Promotion and Main Task feel like one, or more accurately, share the same target.

[Promotion/Main Task: Join a faction (First ring).]

Difficulty level: Level 20

Task information: Join any faction—Donquixote Family, Beast Pirates, BIG MOM Pirates.

Task information: Promotion/Main Task consists of four rings.

Task deadline: 12 hours.

Task reward: 10000 Paradise coins.

Task punishment: forced execution.

...

Judging from task information, Su Xiao’s Promotion/Main Task seems simple. Is that really the case? Certainly not.

Having just entered Pirate World, he was teleported onto a ship under cannon fire; the smell of the sea, burning stings his nose, with a hint of blood.

Once the storm halts, the random battles resume. Amidst chaotic sea warfare, joining a faction isn’t too hard. If Su Xiao wishes to join Big Mom’s forces, merely killing pirates from Donquixote Family or Beast Pirates suffices—this serves as a pledge.

Choosing which faction to join is the crux.

Donquixote Family: ruthlessly merciless.

Beast Pirates: a group mostly plagued by mania.

BIG MOM Pirates: a classic pirate group where the captain is a ’psychopath,’ a terrifyingly obese Big Mom.

Most Contractors face difficult choices, but Su Xiao has long decided which faction to join; only by doing so can he fend off the CP Department’s harassment.

The ship swayed heavily, rain kept pouring, Su Xiao leaned steadily against the gunwale, Bubu Wang was right by his side, A Mu was on another ship.

Su Xiao gazed at the dark clouds above; this downpour should last for some time.

But in the next moment, the rain droplets gradually lessened, the clouds dispersed at an observable speed, and within half a minute, the sea turned calm and the sky was endlessly clear.

Bubu Wang was completely astounded, if not for the wet ship beneath him, he’d think the previous scene was an illusion.

”Raise the sails!”

”Ho~”

The pirates of the Donquixote Family on the ship seemed accustomed to New World’s unpredictable weather. They all drew their Sailor’s Knives from their waists, stood by the gunwale, and stared intently at several large sailboats in the distance.

”Who are you?”

The pirate leader who had shouted earlier glanced at Su Xiao; judging by Su Xiao’s attire, he discerned Su Xiao wasn’t part of the Donquixote Family.

”Your ally.”

’D·Assassin’ handgun appeared in Su Xiao’s hand; he was ready to test the gun’s power.
