Reincarnation Paradise Park

Chapter 1277: Chapter 92: I’m Not Targeting You Today

In the lounge, Su Xiao reclined on the sofa for a short rest. He had been waiting for 1 hour and 50 minutes. If his opponent did not accept the match within the next 10 minutes, he would directly advance to the tenth rank in the arena.

Su Xiao had reached the top ten in the arena back in the First Tier and obtained the King of Arena Mark. When he advanced to the Second Tier, the arena reset, and the King of Arena Mark was taken back.

The attributes of the King of Arena are quite good. Su Xiao believed that the Third-tier arena would definitely offer higher rewards. If the rewards were similar to those of the King of Arena, his opponent would never avoid fighting.

The rewards for the top ten in the Third Tier could not be compared to those of the King of Arena. Giving up the tenth rank would be equivalent to forfeiting such rewards.

Just as Su Xiao was speculating about the rewards for the top ten in the Third Tier, a prompt from Reincarnation Paradise appeared.

[The opponent has accepted the match.]

[Match completed, opponent rank: 10th place (Third Tier).]

Su Xiao glanced at the time. He had already waited for 1 hour and 57 minutes. The timing was so precise that the other party was definitely stalling. The implication was clear: ’Want to challenge me? Then patiently wait in the rest cabin for two hours.’

The sensation of teleportation surged. Su Xiao picked up a glass of water from the table, emptied it in one gulp, and the glass shattered into powder in his hand.

As the flashes of light and shadow settled, Su Xiao found himself standing in a sand arena. The diameter of the arena was about 300 meters, surrounded by a large, tiered spectator stand.

The stands were already teeming with people. This time, not only were the idle workers there to watch the battle, but also many Contractors, who were there both to appreciate the competition and to learn combat experience.

[Betting function has been disabled.]

Receiving this notification, Su Xiao frowned. Betting could also be a significant source of income. Judging by the current situation, it seemed that betting was not allowed for the top ten matches due to the reward mechanism.

”It’s finally starting, been waiting for nearly half an hour.”

”Do all top ten matches start so slowly?”

”Lachin is just an idiot. This is the fourth time I’ve watched him, and the guy often delays match times.”

”Why do you keep watching his matches then?”

”It’s business, kid. You’re young. You don’t think the arena is just about matches, do you? It supports many people’s livelihoods.”

The audience engaged in heated discussions, but most of them were mere bystanders. They were unaware of the matching time limit for the top ten. To those spectators, the duel should have started already, especially since they had spent Paradise coins for the viewing rights.

In the sandy field, Su Xiao adjusted the metal mask covering the lower half of his face. While he would reveal his true appearance in Reincarnation Paradise, he preferred not to show his face in the arena as a way to conceal his combat style.

Recently, Su Xiao noticed that many Third-tier Contractors recognized him, as the reputation of Night of Beheading seemed to be growing, with both advantages and disadvantages.

Ignoring the increasingly lively stands, Su Xiao looked toward his opponent, who stood 100 meters away, a sullen, gaunt man.

The gaunt man had a stern look, closed eyelids, a thin face, and fierce triangular eyes, emitting a faint scent of blood. He was called Lachin, the core member of a certain Adventure group.

”Hey, kid over there.”

Lachin’s voice was frigid and seemed to hold an old grudge against Su Xiao. As he stomped on the sand, a large area of it withered and turned gray.

Unperturbed by Lachin’s demeanor, Su Xiao noticed something strange; his opponent had two daggers stabbed in his thigh, one gold and the other purple, an intriguing combination.

Even if the purple dagger suited him, there was a two-grade difference between purple and gold quality. No matter how suitable, Su Xiao would never choose to use a weapon of such low-grade quality.

This might be sensible for accessories, but weapons must be reliable for direct combat.

For someone ranked in the top ten of the arena, using a purple dagger seemed rather shabby.

Considering Lachin’s unpleasant attitude, Su Xiao reckoned that this guy was likely enhancing equipment in the Equipment Strengthening Hall. He happened to match up with him at that moment.

Even without thinking too hard, it was clear that one of Lachin’s weapons had broken during enhancement, which explained his grudging mentality. Due to the lack of time, he couldn’t contact a trader and had to grab an emergency weapon from the market.

Lachin’s triangular eyes narrowed, as he scoped out Su Xiao, sensing the Blood Energy emanating from him, yet remained indifferent. After all, in Reincarnation Paradise, who wasn’t stained with blood?

”Today is not about you; I’m just in a foul mood.”

As Lachin finished speaking, the countdown to the match started.

[Three, two, one, match, begin!]

The moment the match was declared, Su Xiao slowly drew the Dragon Slash from his waist, and the long knife emitted a sharp ring.

As Su Xiao unsheathed his blade, Lachin twirled the daggers in his hands, smirking with a signature grin, reminiscent of a psychopathic killer.

The battle commenced, and the animated chatter of the audience began to fade.

On the field, Lachin lightly leaped back as the light around him distorted, making his entire figure vanish—this guy was of the Invisible Series.

In this 1v1 arena, those specializing in invisibility have a natural advantage. However, Su Xiao doesn’t care if the opponent is of the invisible type.

The yellow sand field is quiet; Lachin didn’t leave footprints in the sand. This is the terrain he selected, and he wouldn’t be stupid enough to choose terrain that’s disadvantageous to him.

With a flick of Su Xiao’s left arm, the Boundary Line shoots out, the metal threads dispersed around him, slowly descending.

The opponent is of the invisible type, so there’s no need to actively rush towards them; just wait for them to approach.

Standing still with a long knife in hand, Su Xiao knows the traits of invisible types all too well. When Lachin reveals himself, it will surely be with confidence to injure him, followed by a ferocious, storm-like attack.

One minute, two minutes...

A full ten minutes passed, yet Lachin still hadn’t appeared. The audience erupted in boos. Of course, those booing were the casual spectators; those skilled in combat knew that once Lachin appeared, the battle would end in a very short time.

Su Xiao, standing there, moved his neck. Judging by his stance, he seemed full of flaws.

In the Shadow World, Lachin crouched low on the ground, only ten meters away from Su Xiao, waiting for his chance.

Lachin had been staring at Su Xiao for ten minutes, his expression no longer as gloomy as before, but full of alertness.

In Lachin’s perception, Su Xiao seemed like a deceptive beast, seemingly full of flaws, yet he dared not approach within seven meters of him.

Lachin sensed the Perception Circle around Su Xiao. Once entered, a sharp long knife would slay his neck.

A metal line lightly grazed by, barely missing Lachin’s shoulder. At the same time, a pair of eyes turned to Lachin.

”Shit!”

Lachin cursed softly, leaping sideways.

Boom!

Yellow sand erupted like a bomb detonating in the earth as Su Xiao vanished from where he stood, charging directly at Lachin.

Swoosh, swoosh, swoosh...

Intertwining blade aura slashed towards Lachin, even before Su Xiao reached him, Lachin was already enveloped by the vast blade aura.

Lachin released the dagger in his hand; a chain linked his wrist to the dagger, using it to spin the dagger into a ring.

Amidst the chime of metal, the golden dagger shattered more than ten blade auras, Lachin, like a nimble monkey, darted through the gaps of blade aura.

Lachin evaded the blade aura, but Su Xiao was already charging head-on.

An assassin whose stealth has been broken facing a close combatant head-on — the result is predictable.

Clang.

The long knife rang out, a severed arm soared high with a dagger of broken blade still in hand.

Clutching his severed arm, Lachin retreated a few steps. His strength wasn’t weak, the primary reason for losing an arm with one slash was the gap in weapon quality.

”Shadow Raid!”

Lachin muttered under his breath, a mass of shadow-formed blades appeared around him, intending to push Su Xiao away first.

Blades of shadow sparkled, several shadow blades were slashed away; a few shadow blades cut into Su Xiao, merely leaving some blood marks.

Splatter!

Blood splattered, Lachin’s chest was fully opened, several vital organs were damaged.

”Since when did tanks have such attack power!”

Today, Lachin learned something new. From the blood marks on Su Xiao, he deduced Su Xiao was a ’Tank’, and no close combatant could have such defensive power.

A hand broke through the shadow blades, gripping Lachin’s throat; the metallic touch at the neck told Lachin he was defeated.

A long knife pierced through Lachin’s heart, at the same time, his neck was twisted with a crack, and he dissolved into a mass of light particles in Su Xiao’s hand.

[Arena Ended, 277 Consecutive Wins!]

The audience remained deathly silent, the entire battle lasted ten minutes, with only 17 seconds of actual confrontation. Lachin hadn’t unleashed his terrifying attack ability before being broken out of stealth by Su Xiao, then slaughtered with a few slashes; this is the common weakness of invisible types — low defense ability but high comprehensive survival ability.

Su Xiao disappeared from the yellow sand field, only then did the audience begin to react.
