Treasure Hunting System： The Ocean Conquerer

The sky was studded with stars, and a full moon hung high above.

An endless stretch of emerald grassland extended into the distance.

Alka walked over along the road from afar.

Silvery moonlight poured down from the sky.

He looked at this expanse of jade-green grass.

Compared to other places that had been heavily tainted by the breath of the Abyss, the reason this place could grow such a vivid green lawn was mainly thanks to its proximity to the ruins of the former Moon Worship Temple.

From far away, one could see, on a slight rise in the ground, a human figure sitting cross-legged in midair.

She lifted her head slightly, facing the moon.

For some reason, you could always feel the moonlight converging upon her, as if she were more favored by the moon than everything around her.

Alka slowly drew closer and casually sat down somewhere that wouldn’t disturb Chadite.

Lately, Chadite’s Meditation was always done in this area.

And nights like this one were her favorite.

At night, the moon would not hang motionless in the same spot like the Eternal sun of daytime.

As time passed, the moon began to trace an arc across the sky.

But the moon’s radiance would always gather on Chadite’s body.

It seemed Chadite used this method to better understand her Treasure and increase her control over it.

Before long, the pure moonlight on Chadite’s body gradually dispersed, as though she were returning from some special state.

Her cross-legged legs dropped down, and she stood upon the grass.

She stood there for quite a while before finally opening her eyes, then turned her head to look at Alka, who was waiting beside her, staring at her.

She walked over, sat down next to him, and leaned her whole body against his.

”Not busy in the lab today? I remember the materials you waited so long for were delivered already this afternoon, weren’t they?”

Chadite asked with some confusion.

By rights, given the past, Alka would probably have buried himself in research for several days without sleep or rest before returning to a normal schedule.

Hearing this, Alka looked up at the moon in the sky and let out a sigh.

”It failed—and in a very serious way, with a problem that’s hard to solve. There probably won’t be any results in the short term.”

There was a hint of dejection in his tone.

Because they had reached a stage where it all came down to luck—relying on luck to obtain a Gemstone with enough hardness to serve as a carrier.

How could something like that be easy?

Chadite didn’t really understand the specifics of Their research; upon hearing this, all she could do was nod, sit up a little straighter, and pull Alka into her arms.

Alka simply went with it and lay down, resting his head on her lap.

Faced with this, Chadite adjusted her posture slightly and reached out to gently place her hand on Alka’s face.

With her soft palm, she slowly rubbed his cheek.

Alka raised his hand and clasped the back of Chadite’s hand.

The two of them stayed like that, maintaining this posture, lingering beneath the moonlight.

”Tell me... do you think we can do it?”

Chadite gazed at the limitless grassland, propped her hands under her own head, and suddenly asked.

”We’re working at it, aren’t we.”

”Mm...”

She nodded, then suddenly lowered her head, looking at Alka, meeting his eyes and studying him closely.

She abruptly reached out, touched Alka’s face, and gently stroked it.

”The connection between your Spiritual Body and your physical body has weakened again.”

It seemed the moonlight Treasure allowed her to see spirit and flesh.

On hearing this.

Alka could only nod helplessly.

”The kingdom has been stretched far, far too wide. With the help of the Dream Kings, the kingdom has developed too fast.

That’s led to me already having trouble suppressing the power I have in the Dream Realm... Right now there’s almost a two-stage difference.”

In reality, Alka’s strength was at the Sixth Stage, but in the Dream Realm his strength had already reached the Eighth Stage.

Hearing this, Chadite’s expression turned a little worried as she asked, ”Will you end up facing a predicament of separation?”

This, however, made Alka shake his head: ”No. Because once I reached the Eighth Stage, the power in the Dream Realm already started to slow down and align with reality.”

Only after hearing this did Chadite nod in relief.

”I still remember the first time I met you,” Chadite suddenly said.

At that, Alka couldn’t help but ask curiously, ”Oh? Then what did I look like to you back then?”

Chadite smiled: ”You were really dazed, and you looked very lost, yet also sort of excited.”

”Wow, so you dare describe me like that.”

As Alka spoke, he suddenly rolled over, wrapped Chadite in his arms, and the two of them tumbled together across the grass.

After one roll, Chadite ended up sprawled on top, lying against Alka’s body.

Her head rested on his shoulder.

Alka tilted his head and pressed his cheek against the crown of Chadite’s head, feeling the smoothness of Chadite’s Silver Threads and the faint fragrance drifting from them.

He reached out and held her close.

”I still remember—I still remember the first time you took me out to search for clues... by the wheat fields...”

Alka reminisced as he spoke.

Chadite would occasionally chime in with little additions.

They recalled, bit by bit, everything they had experienced.

Suddenly, Alka flipped over, pinning Chadite beneath him, the tip of his nose brushing against hers.

He looked at Chadite’s delicate face and those beautiful eyes, bright as crystal.

”I love you.”

Chadite stared at Alka with shining eyes.

”I love you too... Then do you love Lucilia?”

”...”

Alka didn’t answer. Instead, he moved in closer and pressed his lips to Chadite’s exquisite mouth.
