Treasure Hunting System： The Ocean Conquerer

Their actions were exchanges of costs for virtually no gain, simply proving they were capable of anything.

After saying goodbye to Bref, Alka returned to the building.

He shared some of the conversations he had with Bref with everyone.

”Are you going alone to the Demon-Defending Fortress?”

Alka nodded and then promised, ”Don’t worry, I’ll definitely stay on the walls. I’m mainly going to see and personally experience the battle intensity of that area.

I won’t take a dangerous step targeting Kalande, rest assured, those around me will remind me too.”

Upon hearing this,

those who originally wanted to dissuade him couldn’t help but nod.

Already at the Sixth Stage, with the treasures complete except for the Crown, it’s a bit too timid to be overly cautious in this situation.

After all, one must face the Devouring Mouth.

There’s no point in avoiding it.

No matter where it is.

Seeing that the others had no major objections, Alka chatted with them for a while and began to pack up.

The next morning, he casually followed a convoy to the front lines.

They walked silently along the way.

No demon ambushes, no monster attacks.

A rare quiet journey as Alka arrived under the grand gates of the Demon-Defending Fortress.

Looking up at this exaggerated structure before him,

or rather, it couldn’t even be called a building, it’s a mountain.

It’s an artificial mountain range, aligned in front of him.

The surrounding environment showed that these three peaks clearly didn’t grow naturally, but were man-made. Then, on the peaks, relying on parts of the mountain, a grand and majestic fortress was constructed.

The back doors alone were over ten meters tall, flanked by smaller doors for people to pass through.

The gates were wide open because this was the road leading to the back, with various goods and injured being transported continually. Behind them, on either side of the gate, were filled with various supplies and tents.

These items clearly couldn’t be transported inside the fortress, indicating that space inside was somewhat tight.

Alka walked through the central road, looking at the supplies and tents on both sides.

Inside were some resting soldiers and mercenaries, most of whom had bandages wrapped around them.

It was clear that those residing here were wounded soldiers, yet they were out of immediate danger and recovering stage but were directly recuperating here outside.

Alka assessed that the soldiers’ injuries shouldn’t impact combat, merely requiring rest.

One vehicle after another of goods continued moving along the road, with the way into the fortress being wide enough for three transport vehicles abreast.

There were more goods stacked around, not yet transported in.

At the gate and around, many members of the Holy Mother Church and Seed of Life were present, seemingly conducting inspections.

The defenses here were unusually tight; Alka hadn’t yet approached the gate, still several hundred meters away, when soldiers and various personnel had already noticed him.

Their gazes upon him held scrutiny and examination.

”Lord Alka?”

A guard nearby suddenly called out.

Hearing this, Alka turned to look.

Recognizing this guard, he suddenly remembered—this should be a soldier who had stayed at the Demon Hunting Fortress, possibly here for rotation.

”Lord Alka, you’ve actually come here.”

He merely gave a greeting but didn’t rashly approach, for he still had his own duties.

Instead, it was his captain beside him who exchanged a few words and, wielding his weapon, came over.

Looking at Alka, he said, ”You are indeed Lord Alka.”

”I wouldn’t call myself that, but I am Alka.”

He nodded respectfully at Alka and then said, ”This must be your first time here. Do you need me to take you to the Holy Mother Church’s station?”

Hearing this, Alka nodded and said, ”Thank you.”

”It’s my honor, my lord.”

Saying that, he gave some orders to his team before leading Alka towards the gate.

Upon reaching the gate, he stood aside and said to Alka, ”Please undergo inspection, this is a necessary procedure.”

Alka nodded and walked up directly.

Conducting the inspection was a guard wearing an emerald robe, with dark green vines upon them and pointed ears.

He politely nodded to Alka.

Then took out a piece of emerald Crystal Stone and gently placed it on Alka’s chest.

Alka could distinctly feel a wave of something scanning him.

Instantly feeling it was some kind of abyssal aura repellant wave, an internal scan.

After the scan, the soldier looked at the Crystal Stone in his hand, giving Alka an odd glance.

”Is there a problem?” Alka asked.

The guard shook his head, ”No, rather there’s absolutely no problem. You don’t have a trace of abyssal invasion on you.”

After all, being at the World Scar, and fighting with demons. In such situations, having no residual abyssal aura inside the body was indeed peculiar. So cleanly as if newly arriving on this continent.

Yet clearly, Alka was not newly arrived here.

But from other soldiers standing nearby, he learned that Alka, here at this Demon-Defending Fortress, the name of Alka was known. Apart from new recruits and those soldiers rotating from even more distant fortresses, more or less had heard of it.
