Treasure Hunting System： The Ocean Conquerer

Alka looked at the mirrors laid flat in front of him, where all sorts of demons were roaring furiously inside.

Among them, the demons that were sealed earliest had already shrunk into the corners of the mirror. Perhaps they already knew they were sealed.

After all, for demons, they were quite quick to accept the fact of being sealed.

Alka picked up one and examined it carefully.

The demon inside the mirror obviously couldn’t see the outside situation and didn’t know that it was being scrutinized by Alka.

The demon in Alka’s hand wasn’t blood-red like the others but was a fiery red, as if made of lava.

There were black iron plates forming armor pieces adhered to its body.

From its appearance, it was clear this was a demon adept at manipulating lava.

This demon’s power was just at the newcomer to the Fifth Stage, making it one of the weaker ones among the sealed demons.

The weakest of these sealed demons were all at the Fifth Stage, among which there were two powerful demons with their strength reaching the Sixth Stage, also sealed by Alka.

However, after sealing two Sixth Stage demons, Alka stopped, mainly because sealing a Sixth Stage demon on the battlefield took much more time than a Fifth Stage.

It was easy to be interrupted by other demons, rendering efforts futile, making killing them directly much simpler.

Alka had killed many weaker demons but didn’t bother to seal them in mirrors.

Weaker demons, when killed in the current world, return to the Abyss, where they struggle to survive.

The Abyss is truly a survival of the fittest; when their bodies die in reality and souls return, they are bound to have issues.

Upon returning, their state in the Abyss is invariably weak.

For these weaker demons, that is fatal.

Only high-level demons of the Fifth and Sixth Stages have the foresight to prepare for their rebirth.

At this stage, demons can temporarily suppress their chaotic thoughts, though still hard to control.

Of course, the main reason is that sealing demons consumed a lot of magic power. Alka had already found himself running low on magic power in the later stages of battle and couldn’t afford to waste it on weaker demons.

In the latter half of the battlefield, Alka had given up on further sealing demons.

By then, he had little magic power left.

However, this long battle had given Alka considerable experience, and he was gradually getting used to this place.

Next time, he will focus on adjusting his attack style to target strong demons, aiming to seal them all.

Alka made those powerful demons tremble at the sight of him.

Because he would grant them eternal death.

Thinking of this, the mirror in Alka’s hand appeared, spiraling like a vortex within.

One sealing mirror after another fell into it, entering the Dream Realm.

The kingdom could now welcome new life.

However, Alka did not send all of them; he kept several sealing mirrors, containing rare types of demons that had left an impression on him in previous battles, which he planned to observe.

After finishing this, Alka lay on the bed and sank into the Dream Realm, where he could have a chat with Chadite and the others.

He casually exchanged pleasantries and talked about experiences in the Demon-Defending Fortress.

...

As Alka spent more time in the Demon-Defending Fortress, he gradually adapted to the combat frequency here.

Simply put, the most important aspect at the Demon-Defending Fortress was to only face the opponents one ought to face.

Whether stronger or weaker than oneself, it’s naturally best to avoid them.

The demons’ disadvantages still manifest here; though numerous and strong, once the fight starts, it becomes chaotic, making it impossible for them to maintain any order.

The tactics are primarily to charge and attack, and as for retreating, that depends on the situation—if retreat fails, they die on the path of charge and attack.

Moreover, once the attack begins, the whole battle requires reducing the demon numbers to a certain level for them to gradually retreat.

In such circumstances, the fortress defenders must form an elite formation with a number many times smaller than the enemy’s, relying on weapon coordination, various defensive equipment, and the high city walls, along with various buffs and shields to resist consumption.

So, everyone here clearly understands their role.

Most of the soldiers’ power is at Third Stage, and those elite soldiers attached to major forces and the Church can break through the limits of Tier Three, reaching the Fourth Stage.

They need to cooperate defensively against most demons below the Fifth Stage.

Those possessing Treasures naturally target demons above the Fifth Stage, fighting according to their strength.

Of course, in most cases, the defending humans face several demons alone, achieving victories with the help of Treasures, or with some Treasure holders working together to defeat more with less.

That’s why reducing magic power consumption is crucial.

Because you never know how intense this battle will be or how long it will last.
