Treasure Hunting System： The Ocean Conquerer

Chapter 695: Chapter 314 Twin Treasures_3

She possessed the unique and exquisite beauty characteristic of merfolk. Her eyes were closed, her expression serene yet cold. Behind the exquisite and hauntingly beautiful face, long strands of pale green hair fell, swaying back and forth on the seabed with the current. This was a hair texture unique to merfolk; even underwater, it flowed as if in a breeze, rather than clumping together.

Her fishtail was a vibrant green, its scales like carved jade. This was markedly different from Julia’s iridescent, gradient coloration.

The three could clearly feel that this merfolk had lost all signs of life. Although her body showed no signs of decay, life had long since departed.

With hands clasped as if in prayer, the merfolk held something. A song emanated from her throat.

Julia swayed her fishtail, gliding beside the merfolk, and gently embraced her. The moment Julia touched her, the merfolk’s song instantly ceased. Her grip on the object she tightly clutched loosened.

A shell drifted down, landing in Julia’s hands. Julia gazed at the shell for a moment before placing it into her Pocket Ring.

At that moment, Alka, on the ship, watched as the blue dot disappeared from the map. This indicated that the treasure had already been claimed by someone else and was no longer ownerless. It seemed Julia and the others had acquired the treasure.

Soon after, Pororo crawled out of the previous tunnel entrance. He climbed onto the vine-covered layer and moved aside, waiting for his teammates to ascend.

The next to emerge was Julia, cradling an exceptionally beautiful merfolk in her arms. However, observing the merfolk’s pale skin and lifeless face, it was clear she was a corpse, though how long she had been dead was uncertain. Yet she looked as if she had just died, with no visible signs of decay. Looking at the merfolk’s exquisite face, one couldn’t help but feel it was a pity.

The people on the ship immediately made space.

”No need, let her float on the water’s surface,” Julia said. Gently, she placed the body onto the sea surface.

The merfolk’s body floated on the water, not sinking. Matilda also emerged from the tunnel entrance and looked at the body floating there.

Alka watched Julia and asked, ”How do you plan to bury her?”

From Julia’s demeanor, it was clear she intended to bury the corpse; it was just unclear how she would do it. After all, as a merfolk, her burial would undoubtedly be different from a human’s; a land burial would be too strange.

Julia gazed at the body, then looked up at Alka. ”How long until we leave this area?” she asked.

Upon hearing this, Alka took out a map. This map was of the region Chadite had copied the day before, covering only the Land of Spirits area.

Alka looked at the orange dot on the map and their current location. After a moment’s thought, he said, ”Very soon. We’ll see if we can obtain the Nafasi Clan’s treasure vault. If we can, we’ll get it before leaving. If not, we’ll depart immediately.”

Their current location was somewhat distant from the orange dot. If they were to cross the Sea of Moisture, which was formed by vines, it would take a long time at their current speed. The Flying Swallow couldn’t accelerate here. Despite the route being direct, the speed was too slow, so Alka had abandoned that plan. It would be better to return to the outskirts of the Sea of Moisture and take the Sound of Dawn in a half-circle route. Although it was a detour, the Sound of Dawn was much faster, and the journey would be far more comfortable. This was far superior to being crammed into the small Flying Swallow. Furthermore, with the boost from the Sea of Moisture’s natural currents, they might save more than half the travel time.

Upon hearing Alka’s words, Julia nodded. A transparent Crystal Stone appeared in her hand.

Looking at the Crystal Stone, Alka, Chadite, Lucilia, and Pororo on the ship immediately recalled something. This item was undoubtedly the Crystal Stone that had previously sealed Julia in the center—the place where they first met.

Julia took the Crystal Stone, infused it with Magic Power, and gently placed it on the corpse’s chest. With a flash of light, the Crystal Stone seemed to liquefy, flowing like water to envelop the body before solidifying into a large crystal. It was exactly like when they had first seen Julia.

The Crystal Dragon, Ulllius, descended, her limbs landing in the water. Her immense weight immediately pressed the surrounding vines downward.

”I told you you’ve been eating too much recently,” Jason couldn’t resist teasing upon seeing this. Then, he was suddenly sent flying from the ship, crashing into the distant seawater.

Everyone turned to look at Jason’s landing point, then silently turned back to the Crystal Stone.

The Crystal Dragon retracted her tail, as if her previous action had nothing to do with her. The way the crystal had just solidified indeed resembled the Crystal Dragon’s attack method.

Ulllius watched the crystal and exhaled gently. It was similar to her breath attack but far less powerful, like the difference between a stream of water and a fine mist. The iridescent Energy transformed into a fine, icy mist that adhered to the crystal. The entire crystal instantly gleamed, with shimmering points of light appearing even within its depths. This added a unique radiance to the crystal, but it was more than just its appearance.

”Thank you,” Julia said to the Crystal Dragon, witnessing this scene. After speaking, she gently touched the crystal, and it was absorbed into her Pocket Ring.

Luckily, the corpse was slightly curled. Combined with the fact that there were few items already inside Julia’s Pocket Ring, it fit. The crystal now encased a corpse, no longer a living being, so the Pocket Ring could naturally store it. If it had been the living Julia sealed within, that would not have been possible.
