Treasure Hunting System： The Ocean Conquerer

”By the way, do you need this?” The strange fishman selling newspapers pulled out a small badge, about the size of a thumb, and asked.

Jason, who was reading the newspaper, turned his head upon hearing this.

Looking at the badge in the fishman’s hand, it was a Flying Fish Badge, identical to the flying fish on the plaque overhead.

”What’s this for? A complimentary gift?”

The fishman blinked his somewhat dark blue eyes at Jason, noting his apparent ignorance.

”A Flying Fish Badge. If you’re sailing on the Endless Sea and want to buy a newspaper, just carry this badge, and the nearby flying fish will deliver it to you.”

”That’s amazing!” Jason took the badge, asking in surprise.

”Yes, yes, it’s just that amazing.”

Seeing Jason take the badge, the fishman said no more. He returned to his seat and flipped through the book in front of him.

Holding the badge and newspaper, Jason headed towards the port.

Passing by an inn, he glanced up.

Come to think of it, they lived on the ship during sea voyages, and even when docked. It wasn’t about saving money. The rooms on their ship were much better than most rooms in those inns—more comfortable and familiar. After all, the Sound of Dawn was a ship built by the Holy Mother Church’s private shipyard, at great cost to them. Moreover, it featured rooms tailored to each of their needs. On the huge ship, there were only a few of them and the Puppet Girls. There was no crowding at all. Compared to ordinary inns or other ships, theirs was like a relatively luxurious hotel. Unless the place they were staying was too far from the port, making it inconvenient to return, they always stayed on the ship if possible.

Lost in these thoughts, he soon arrived at the port.

Passing through the workers transporting goods, he reboarded the Sound of Dawn.

”How did you two get back before me?” Jason asked in surprise, looking at Alka and Chadite chatting on the deck.

Upon hearing Jason’s voice, Alka turned to glance at him.

”You’re just slow. What’s that in your hand?”

”It’s a newspaper. It covers major events in the Endless Sea.”

Upon hearing this, Alka took the newspaper to examine it. The cover featured a drawing of a flying fish. It looked like this was the so-called Flying Fish Report.

Chadite and Lucilia stood beside him, tilting their heads to peek.

The newspaper wasn’t very large. Unfolded, it had no page numbers. It was printed on both sides, totaling four pages.

”Don’t just read it to yourself; read it out loud,” Pororo said, walking over. ”He was so large that even craning his neck might not have allowed him to see.”

”Okay.”

”The headline says...”

”What’s a headline?”

Hearing this, Alka faltered for a moment.

”Uh... it’s the most noteworthy piece of information.”

”Oh, oh, continue.”

”The pirate fleet ’Evil Spirit’ was annihilated near Sokkelo Landmark Island during its raid. Twelve ships, over 10,000 pirates, none spared.

”The annihilator’s whereabouts are unknown, and there were no witnesses.”

”Flower God Tertsi has been missing for 150 days and nights. Grand Priest Politia has reissued a bounty: anyone providing accurate information will receive a Treasure.

”The last person who provided information has been confirmed to have received their reward.”

As Alka read this news, the others listening immediately interrupted.

Alka, too, seemed to have anticipated this and paused.

”Wait, wait, Flower God? What’s that?” Simon asked from the side, astonished.

The rest were all somewhat shocked.

Jason leaned against the mast and said, ”You might not believe it, but there seem to be plenty of Divines in the Endless Sea.”

”The Four Divines...”

At this, Alka waved his hand. ”It’s different. The Four Divines seem to be on a higher tier than these new Divines; they’re not on the same level.”

He hadn’t been idle at the church today either; some information there was quite openly available, at least to him. This wasn’t surprising in places within the Endless Sea where information circulated more freely.

”These new Divines are those who rose again after the events in the Broken Sea Region, or Divines who once perished but weren’t completely gone and are now seeking revival.

”Apart from these, there are also plenty of Evil Gods and other malevolent deities causing trouble here.”

”This place... is it really this chaotic?”

”Come to think of it, we actually haven’t spent that much time in the Endless Sea, have we?”

All told, they had only been in the Endless Sea for three or four years. It seemed like a long time, but in this chaotic expanse of ocean, a third of that time had been spent sailing aimlessly. The places they had actually stayed in were few and far between, aside from Gemini Island where they had first arrived. They had mostly just loitered around the Broken Sea Region.

”It seems we’re rather uninformed.”

Everyone listened for a while longer as Alka finished reading out items from the newspaper. Apart from the first two items, the rest of the news was about unfamiliar people doing incomprehensible things in unknown places.

They still knew too little about the Endless Sea’s forces and notable figures.

Before long, it suddenly grew dark.

Everyone went to the dining room and started dinner.

”Did you find any books related to the world in the church’s library?” Julia suddenly asked.
