Treasure Hunting System： The Ocean Conquerer

This was the main reason they came here.

Alka and the others shook their heads.

Although there were many books in the library, they had already searched specifically within certain categories.

”There are almost no books about the time before the Divine War, with no historical records from that period. You can only see many archaeological discoveries and some people’s speculations.”

After speaking, Alka looked at Simon.

Simon had also gone to the Holy Machine Church on Left Island today. Given the Holy Machine Church’s style, their library would definitely be bigger, and they would care even less about knowledge that might be classified as forbidden.

”I also didn’t find any substantial information, but I did come across some intelligence that might be related.”

Upon hearing this, the others, who had been engrossed in their meal, looked up.

Simon said, ”In the internal archive management, I noticed several renegade sects. Only one is considered a heretical sect, while the rest are labeled as Cultists.”

”Their philosophies and deeds are more or less related to world destruction, claiming to have received some sort of revelation from the world.”

Upon hearing this, everyone instantly understood the implication.

It was obvious that, just like them, these groups had connected to the core of the world through some special means, experiencing that painful cleansing. They would also likely have learned about the world’s intense desire for self-destruction.

If among these individuals there were those whose previous actions were related to preserving the world’s environment, they would have fallen into extremism, much like Julia. Making such a choice would be nothing unusual.

”Correspondingly, there are also many sects whose doctrine is to save the world. Most of them are heretical groups.”

A similarly reasonable choice. The path chosen was also much more challenging.

Perhaps only a Church as abnormally open and inclusive as the Holy Machine Church could allow for such occurrences.

”This indicates that in the Endless Sea, those who know the true nature of the world are not few,” Julia said.

Everyone nodded in agreement with this view.

”Ah, what a mess.” Jason leaned back in his chair and sighed.

”Have any of you heard any information about Treasures, maybe some well-known treasure legends or something? After all, we are a Treasure Hunting Team.”

Alka, eating his food, looked at the others and asked.

They couldn’t forget their main job, and indeed, their funds were running low, especially for Jason.

At this, Jason perked up. He quickly swallowed the food in his mouth and said, ”I have a piece of Treasure Information here. It has been circulating on this island for a long time and is somewhat credible.”

”Oh, tell us.”

Jason shared the news he had learned at the tavern today.

After listening, Alka thought for a moment and said, ”Go ask again tomorrow. We’ll check the Church’s archives for any relevant information.”

Jason and Simon both nodded.

The night passed uneventfully.

「The next day, before the break of dawn, everyone left the Sound of Dawn.」

After all, nights in this world lasted for ten to twenty hours.

”Chadite, get me a map of Gemini Island. If possible, also look for maps of the surrounding island chains and see if you can buy them. Basically, buy a copy of any map available on this island, as long as it doesn’t seem fake and meets my standards.”

Chadite nodded and parted ways with Alka.

Everyone on the ship knew Alka’s craving for maps. Whenever they had the time and opportunity, they would help gather maps, regardless of the regions they depicted.

Alka went to the Church alone and found an elderly Priest behind a counter in a room beside the library.

”Is there anything I can help with, child?”

”I’d like to ask if there’s any information here about the Nafasi Clan.”

Upon hearing this, the elderly Priest looked up, his slightly yellowed and cloudy eyes glancing at Alka.

Seeing Alka’s youthful appearance, he helplessly shook his head.

”Another young person eager to get rich. It happens every year. Ah, treasure hunting isn’t that easy. It’s very dangerous, requiring countless efforts, and you might not even obtain equivalent wealth. Moreover, it might have already been looted by others. Such wishful thinking.”

He muttered on, but he still came out from behind his counter, aided by a cane.

Alka quickly stepped forward to support him.

The Priest was visibly pleased with Alka’s actions.

”A polite child, that’s good.”

With Alka’s assistance, he came to a deeper bookcase inside.

”From the bottom, count up to the third shelf. There’s a file numbered 1616. The decoding phrase is ’6161’, spoken in the common tongue.”

Upon hearing the elderly Priest’s words, Alka nodded.

Reaching to open the bookcase, he stood slightly on tiptoe to get the file, which was near the top.

He channeled his Magic Power, uttering ’6161’.

A resistance vanished, and Alka took the document down.

It was a file made with some peculiar construction. It bore the emblem of the Holy Mother and various pieces of recorded information.

The Spells inscribed on it were for protection and destruction. If one tried to open it by force, they would likely gain nothing.

”Yes, that’s right, this is it. It cannot be taken off the premises. Based on its confidentiality Level, only twenty percent of the information can be copied. After you’ve copied it, I must check your transcription.”

With that, the old man raised his head and asked Alka, ”Would you like to copy it?”

”I need to.”

”You can use the space beside my counter. Copy it there while you read. Paper and a pen are available.”
