Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 247: Chapter 246: Gentlemen, I Love War

The Fire Mist Warriors were naturally alert to the repeated assaults of the Followers of the Crimson Realm. Or rather, since the Band of Dorel and Montebidi Route were destroyed after the incident in the Shanghai Outpost, almost all the Fire Mist Warriors had returned to their strongholds to begin defensive preparations. It was because of this that they were able to fend off the attack of the Legion of the Followers of the Crimson Realm, which surged forth with an overwhelming momentum.

But that was all they could do.

“Tokyo, Greece, Romania… I really didn’t expect the Masquerade Ball to open up fronts simultaneously in both the eastern and western hemispheres.”

Sophie’s expression was grim as she looked at the situation displayed on the screen in front of her. This was not just because most of the data points at headquarters were besieged, but also because they had just received a shocking message from the front lines—the reason why these Followers of the Crimson Realm attacked with such frenzy, as if injected with adrenaline, was because just before, the Masquerade Ball had finally revealed their true objective.

Open the Seal, Release the God of Creation, the Ritual Snake!

This was going to turn the world upside down!!

Upon hearing this, the Fire Mist Warriors were in turmoil. They finally understood why those attacking the Outposts were so spirited; their goal was to distract the main force of the Fire Mist Warriors to allow the Masquerade Ball to fulfill this “historic mission”!

But now… what to do?

Locating the Hall of the Star Dawn was not difficult, for in order to maintain the channel between the two realms, Fang Zheng had unsealed the Hall of the Star Dawn and, with the help of satellites, they quickly found the enemy’s position. That’s where it ended, though, as the main forces of the Fire Mist Warriors were already fully engaged on both eastern and western fronts, with no one to spare to stop the enemy’s ritual.

However, it was imperative to stop them.

The resurrection of the God of Creation, the Ritual Snake, was a matter of destiny for both the Crimson Realm and Earth, and the Fire Mist Warriors were well aware of this. The problem at hand was that their strongholds were under fierce attack and if they were to divert too many troops, the only outcome would be the breach of their stronghold, allowing the Followers of the Crimson Realm who broke through the final defensive line to sweep through the Fire Mist Warriors’ rear…

“This is all part of an open conspiracy!”

Sister Sophie clenched her fists tightly, staring intently at the satellite image in front of her. That structure floating high above the inland, the Hall of the Star Dawn, seemed to mock the Fire Mist Warriors, laughing at their foolishness, mocking their ignorance. The balance of power had not yet been broken, but Sophie knew that this balance would inevitably be disrupted.

Action must be taken.

“This is our crisis, but it is also our opportunity,” she said deeply before turning to her companions.

“Indeed, the Masquerade Ball has come out in full force, tying up our forces on both the eastern and western fronts, but conversely, isn’t this the same as us tying up their forces? The Hall of the Star Dawn must be thinly defended by now. If we can assemble an elite force and breach the blockade into the headquarters of the Hall of the Star Dawn, we can stop their conspiracy!”

Sophie was moved as she spoke, clenching her fists tightly and swinging them forward.

“Thousands of years ago, the ancient Fire Mist Warriors sealed the God of Creation even amidst such perilous situations—today, we can do the same!”

“Yes!”

Upon hearing Sophie’s speech, the other Fire Mist Warriors, who had been initially confused by the sudden attack, now calmed down, their eyes filled with fighting spirit. Indeed, just as Sophie had said, if the ancient Fire Mist Warriors could seal the God of Creation under such dangerous conditions, there was no reason they couldn’t foil the evil plans of the Followers of the Crimson Realm. No matter what the God of Creation wanted to do, they could not let these damned Followers of the Crimson Realm succeed!

“But, Commander,”

the man by Sophie’s side said, his brow furrowed and his face bitter.

“Based on the current reports, we haven’t seen any signs of ‘The Shapeshifter’ Xiu Denan on any of the battlefields…”

“Which means we’ll be facing the Three Pillars,” Sophie said, a calm smile spreading across her face after hearing the man’s report.

“No matter, this is something we will have to face sooner or later. Start gathering troops immediately, and instruct each stronghold to hold off those Followers of the Crimson Realm!”

While the Outpost was preparing for the upcoming great battle, Fang Zheng was also discussing the same issue with Feckoru inside the Hall of the Star Dawn.

“Alliance Hierarch, according to reports from various places, we haven’t seen any sign of ‘Hand of Thunder’ Sophie Sabalishu. Several other well-known Fire Mist Warriors also haven’t appeared on the battlefields,” Feckoru reported.

“Classic Hollywood script—the NPCs deal with the grunts while the hero goes deep behind enemy lines to win with a single stroke, an old trick indeed.”

Compared to the worried Feckoru, Fang Zheng was much more composed.

“But can our troops withstand their attack?”

Feckoru was aware that they were also prepared; with him there and the Outpost Commander, Decarabia, plus those Followers of the Crimson Realm left to guard the Hall of the Star Dawn, they should be able to fend off the Fire Mist Warriors’ attack. But the famed and fearsome “Hand of Thunder” leading an expedition herself was not to be underestimated. Moreover, several famous Fire Mist Warriors had not appeared on the battlefields; if they joined the expedition, Feckoru wasn’t quite confident that they could withstand their attack.

“Of course there’s no problem, just relax a bit.”

Looking at the suit-clad man drenched in cold sweat before him, Fang Zheng couldn’t help but shake his head helplessly. The man’s anxiety was too severe; no matter what it was about, he had a pained expression, as if he feared that something unexpected might happen.

“But, Alliance Hierarch, there’s really no need for you to personally take action…”

Indeed, this was the root cause of Feckoru’s heart-attack-like panic that might require hospitalization at any moment. Generally, he had great confidence in his own Noble Phantasm. Every Fire Mist Warrior and Follower of the Crimson Realm around the world knew that the Noble Phantasm Magnesia, belonging to “Lanti” Feckoru, was a top-tier protective artifact. If it were simply a matter of defense, then Feckoru would have no problem at all.

But the problem was that in the plan, this Alliance Hierarch intended to single-handedly block the enemy’s entire army!

Feckoru was aware that as the Alliance Hierarch, there must be tremendous power at his disposal, but… you’re the boss of the Masquerade Ball, after all. Charging into battle is something the minions should handle. Shouldn’t you, as the behind-the-scenes big boss, be staying in your palace, maintaining your prestige? Why would you take to the battlefield yourself?

“Don’t worry, I take great care of my own life. But now, with the generals not at the frontlines, someone needs to step up to boost morale, right? And moreover…”

“Commander Feckoru!”

Fang Zheng hadn’t finished speaking when suddenly, a Free Method Array appeared out of nowhere, followed by the urgent voice of a Follower of the Crimson Realm Scout Soldier.

“A large number of enemy forces have appeared in the sky!”

“What?”

Upon hearing this, Feckoru was also taken aback. He quickly extended his hand to manipulate the Free Method, and soon enough, dozens of transport planes were seen hovering in the air not far from the Hall of the Star Dawn. One by one, Fire Mist Warriors were jumping out of the aircraft doors, plummeting straight down to the ground without even grabbing parachutes, leaping from the planes.

“How is this possible? How did they manage to get here?”

“They probably used a Sealing technique to block the surrounding air radar.”

Compared to Feckoru’s astonishment, Fang Zheng appeared quite calm. Logically speaking, the Hall of the Star Dawn was located inland, and so many transport planes heading to the same area at the same time would undoubtedly attract the attention of the nation. Fire Mist Warriors were always known for their low-key operations and would definitely not draw the attention of a country over something trivial. Hence, the conclusion was simple — these Fire Mist Warriors must have used a Sealing technique to block military and civilian radar stations around the world and then “smuggled” into the area undetected.

“Order the Defense Troops to attack.”

Fang Zheng decisively issued the command. He wasn’t interested in how these people got in, but since they had come, and through smuggling at that, they shouldn’t blame him for being inhospitable. ƒreeωebnovel.ƈom

Damn it, I have to take planes and high-speed rail when I return to my country, and you Fire Mist Warriors are smuggling your way here? Do you know what consequences you face for unauthorized entry into another country’s territory?

“Not one of those transport planes is to be spared, shoot them all down!”

Ever since absorbing the memory of the Ritual Snake, Fang Zheng felt a special kinship with the Masquerade Ball, but he had absolutely no fondness for the Fire Mist Warriors, especially those from Ancient Times, whom he found particularly irksome.

Uh? You’re asking why?

Don’t be ridiculous, it’s because three thousand years ago, the Ritual Snake in this world was known as Fuxi, Black Katie was Nuwa, Berupeoru was The Queen Mother of the West, and Xiu Denan was Chiyou — no wonder I was able to Summon the Ritual Snake’s Soulstone. It turns out that we were all family three thousand years ago.

Not to mention that back then, the Ritual Snake’s sacrifices were all those “Extraterrestrial Barbarians,” and Fang Zheng also saw from the memory of the Ritual Snake that those who participated in the ceremony were not only Followers of the Crimson Realm but even included ancestral Emperors of this very land — this means damn it, without those Ancient Fire Mist Warrior twerps creating a ruckus, my Huaxia Civilization would have stood united and paramount across Jianghu for eons!

As a person, Fang Zheng has always been clear about his stance. If one were to rank one’s allegiances into a pyramid, at the very top would be Fang Zheng himself, followed by friends and family, then comes the nation and fellow countrymen. Below these three levels would be those within the same cultural sphere, and then humanity at large.

Thus, after absorbing the memory of the Ritual Snake and getting to know the whole backstory, Fang Zheng naturally wouldn’t be polite to those Fire Mist Warriors anymore.

Put another way, this was like three thousand years ago, when the Ancient Gods of Huaxia and the Kings of the Ancients were trying to create a Celestial Dynasty society centered around nuclear fusion. A bunch of eco-activists from abroad, who were used to using firewood and claimed “the risk of nuclear fusion is too high and any problems could cause irreversible harm to Earth and humanity,” disrupted the ceremony on the day of initiation by smashing the nuclear fusion reactor and researchers… What the hell, as if I can tolerate that?

Science knows no borders but scientists do have homelands! A band of anarchists still wants to save the world?

You destroyed our hope three thousand years ago, and now you plan to do it once again after three thousand years? It seems the imperialists’ desire to annihilate us is truly unyielding!

As a descendant of Huaxia, the heir of the dragon, please give me one good reason not to destroy you?

And now, you barbarians have the audacity to smuggle yourselves onto our nation’s territory — are you attempting to reenact the Russo-Japanese War or the Eight-Nation Alliance?

The traitorous sellouts and quislings on the outskirts of Shanghai who betrayed us from the inside have already been wiped out. Now it’s your turn!

If I allow you to leave unharmed, I might as well write my name ‘Fang Zheng’ backward!
