Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 240: Chapter 239: We Are Not the Villains; We Are the Promoters of History (Part 2)

“Ah, who would have thought that our Alliance Hierarch, during his travels, would actually find new Enchanted?”

Among the Three Pillars, the first to speak was Xiu Denan. His sharp eyes, hidden behind sunglasses, stared fixedly at Fang Zheng as he began to speak.

“Morpheus, does the Hierarch think it’s time we, the Three Pillars, need replacements?”

“Of course, I have no such plans, General.”

Hearing Xiu Denan’s question, Fang Zheng glanced at him. He knew very well that the other was not seeking trouble without cause.

“Speaking of which, didn’t you say you dislike wearing such serious clothes?”

“Depends on the occasion, I might change.”

In response to Fang Zheng’s question, Xiu Denan reached out his hand, pushed his sunglasses, and then slightly curved the corners of his mouth as he replied. Fang Zheng, however, paid no mind, simply walking up to the three of them. He first silently swept his gaze over them before finally speaking.

“What I’m about to say might surprise you, but I still need to say it…”

At this point, Berupeoru, Black Katie, and Xiu Denan all changed their demeanor, looking quietly at the man before them, silent, yet simultaneously awaiting his speech.

“Berupeoru.”

“At your service.”

Upon hearing her name, the tall beauty stepped forward, bowing her head respectfully.

“Do you still remember what our Imperial Command is?”

“Of course, Hierarch, we are to create a new world where the Followers of the Crimson Realm can do as they please…”

“Correct.”

Hearing Berupeoru’s response, Fang Zheng nodded in satisfaction — or rather, he felt that even the Ritual Snake attached to him thought the same.

“So, what next?”

“…Next?”

Faced with this unexpected question, expressions of surprise and uncertainty appeared on the faces of Berupeoru, Black Katie, and Xiu Denan.

“Correct, after creating a new world, what do you plan to do next?”

“This…”

Upon hearing Fang Zheng’s question, Berupeoru, the foremost strategist among the Three Pillars, fell silent. Honestly, she never anticipated that her Hierarch would ask such a question. All along, Berupeoru had focused solely on how to fulfill the Imperial Command; as for what would happen after it was fulfilled… Frankly, if it weren’t for Fang Zheng’s question at this moment, she hadn’t even considered it.

“Can’t we do as we please then? That beautiful new world is what we all long for, isn’t it?”

At this moment, Xiu Denan also spoke, unsure whether he was probing Fang Zheng further or simply helping Berupeoru out of a difficult situation.

“What about you, General?”

“I…”

Facing Fang Zheng’s shifted target, Xiu Denan suddenly felt as if he had inadvertently dug himself a hole.

“Does the so-called ‘do as you please’ really exist?”

Looking at the three before him— including Black Katie — all quietly contemplating this question, Fang Zheng finally guided them into the main topic.

“For three thousand years, the Ritual Snake has pondered this issue. Creating a new world, a world that satisfies the Followers of the Crimson Realm, is our hope. But the problem is, no one is sure what kind of new world the Followers of the Crimson Realm really wish for. Look at you, not even you can specifically define what ‘do as you please’ means. So what about the other Followers, what would they think?”

As he spoke, Fang Zheng’s voice grew heavier.

“You should understand that even the God of Creation cannot perform creation without the desires of others, but if the wishes of others are unclear, problems will arise. Three thousand years ago, the desires of our brethren were simple and clear, but now… it may not be the case.”

“You mean…”

“People change, so does the world.”

Fang Zheng waved his hand dismissively.

“Three thousand years ago we failed, but that does not mean we must accept failure three thousand years later,”

Saying this, Fang Zheng paused for a moment.

“So, we need to communicate and exchange ideas with others.”

“You mean…”

Upon hearing Fang Zheng’s words, Berupeoru looked surprised, and Xiu Denan, who had removed his sunglasses without anyone noticing, and Black Katie, who also slightly widened her eyes, showed a hint of astonishment and surprise on their otherwise expressionless faces. freёwebnoѵel.com

“Berupeoru, I want you to find the Enchanted of the Guiding God and invite them to the Masquerade Ball, and I will go talk to the Punishment Deity.”

“No way!”

Unexpectedly, as soon as Fang Zheng finished speaking, the first to object was the usually reticent Black Katie.

“He is the deity who holds the power of Judgment and Conviction, capable of slaying even gods! Alliance Hierarch, you are putting yourself in danger! This is a very dangerous act!”

“I don’t see any danger in this,”

Looking at the pale-faced Black Katie in front of him, Fang Zheng gave a slight smile.

“Well, perhaps you don’t know that the current Contractor of the Catastrophic Fire in this world is also my student. I taught her for a while, and sometimes, pushing potential allies to the opposition is not a good choice.”

As he spoke, Fang Zheng reached out and gently touched Black Katie’s head. Feeling Fang Zheng’s touch, a blush appeared on Black Katie’s white cheeks, while Xiu Denan clicked his tongue uninterestedly but said nothing.

“You need to understand,”

Withdrawing his “reckless right hand,” Fang Zheng looked again at the Three Pillars before him.

“We are here to change all this, but we are not the villains; do not assume the whole world is our enemy, as this does not benefit the execution of the Imperial Command at all.”

“You are still so naive… Alliance Hierarch,”

Hearing Fang Zheng’s words, Berupeoru couldn’t help but remark, while the other two also displayed similar expressions, clearly remembering the event three thousand years ago when the Ritual Snake created the “Great Shackles” and invited the Fire Mist Warriors to the ceremony, only to be betrayed by them.

“The failure three thousand years ago might not be a bad thing; thanks to those Fire Mist Warriors, we were able to closely examine our entire plan and start over. Without these three thousand years, it would probably have been impossible to find such a way out. It’s like the saying ‘A blessing in disguise,’ if the ‘Great Shackles’ had been successfully constructed then, the consequences might have been worse than we imagined.”

“………”

This time, the Three Pillars said nothing but were deep in thought, just as their Alliance Hierarch said, at that time they had only thought about the immediate effects of the successful construction of the “Great Shackles,” without considering its further impact and changes…

“But… are you really going to take the risk yourself?”

Berupeoru was still a bit worried, but Fang Zheng clearly did not care too much.

“Given my personal relationship with the other party, it’s most appropriate for me to deal with it myself. If it was any of you, I suppose it would turn into a fight,”

Fang Zheng was not joking; these three might not be too afraid of Shana, but they were definitely wary of Aralastor. He felt that if he sent Black Katie to find Shana, then the outcome would be that only one of them would come back alive to him.

“And even if it were a fight, I would not lose to those Fire Mist Warriors,”

“I understand,”

This time, Berupeoru was quickly persuaded, as Fang Zheng’s battle record was indeed formidable. Being a human who had single-handedly defeated seven Fire Mist Warriors, they had been initially surprised, but now they were more composed. After all, with the strength of the Ritual Snake, not just seven Fire Mist Warriors, but even seven hundred would not pose a problem.

Of course, provided he wasn’t trapped by the “Forbidden Arcane.”

“But Alliance Hierarch, are we really letting them interfere with our plans?”

Xiu Denan spoke again, seeming quite reluctant—understandably, as it was a plan of the Followers of the Crimson Realm, and letting the Fire Mist Warriors join could lead to the same kind of backstabbing that happened three thousand years ago.

“No,”

In response to Xiu Denan’s question, Fang Zheng shook his head.

“I’m just going to achieve a consensus with the Guiding God and the Punishment Deity; as for the grudges between the Followers of the Crimson Realm and the Fire Mist Warriors…”

At this, Fang Zheng narrowed his eyes.

“The accounts that need to be settled, will still have to be settled.”
