Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 245: Chapter 244 The Beginning of the Opening

Hall of the Star Dawn.

The previously empty fortress was now bustling with activity. The great doors that once remained tightly shut were now open, and the streets, along with the city walls and the towers, were teeming with the figures of the Followers of the Crimson Realm. Many of them still bore scars of battle, yet they seemed not to care, loudly boasting of their bravery and victory.

No wonder these Followers of the Crimson Realm were so excited. Although they were all nominally underlings of the Masquerade Ball, the secretive nature of the organization meant that there wasn’t much for them to do on a daily basis. This was the first action taken by the Masquerade Ball that involved all the Followers of the Crimson Realm since its inception.

Not to mention, their targets were their sworn enemies, the Fire Mist Warriors.

What excited the Followers even more was that this was a complete victory. Several Fire Mist Warrior strongholds had been completely obliterated, and even the famously powerful warriors were thoroughly vanquished in their attacks. Such a decisive victory had not been experienced by the Followers of the Crimson Realm for many years.

Let alone the news of heading to the Hall of the Star Dawn to celebrate the victory, and the rumors of meeting the supremely exalted being of the Masquerade Ball from the legends, as well as the full disclosure of the organization’s goals that had been pursued for thousands of years. All of this had the Followers of the Crimson Realm as excited as if each of them had guzzled dozens of barrels of vodka.

However, not all Followers of the Crimson Realm were delighted by the victory.

“What in the world is that Alliance Hierarch thinking!”

With a thud, a King of the Crimson Realm complained as he slammed down his goblet, resembling a beetle of about the same height as an elephant standing on two legs. At this moment, he sat outspokenly in a chair not far away, drinking and grumbling.

“If we had just pushed a little harder, we could’ve completely eradicated those bastards. But, we were ordered to withdraw, and it was specifically noted as an ‘Alliance Hierarch’s command.’ Damn it! Without that guy, we could have earned many more victories!”

“But, we had already achieved our mission’s objective at that time.”

Looking at the King of the Crimson Realm, who might be speaking out of drunkenness, a Follower of the Crimson Realm wrapped in a long robe, who looked like a child, quickly tried to pacify him.

“As the saying goes, do not pursue a defeated foe. If we had continued, the Fire Mist Warriors cornered might have become a threat to us.”

“So what? Did those scoundrels consider what it would mean to corner us when they were hunting us down with their tools? It’s all retribution! The retribution that traitors deserve! Those who betrayed our people, who sold their strength to humans, they don’t deserve to be considered residents of the Crimson Realm like us!”

As he shouted, the large beetle waved his four arms about, and with his movements, his cup swayed, spilling copious amounts of liquor.

“Besides, what kind of Alliance Hierarch is that? Isn’t he just a human? Why should someone like that be our leader? We could consume humans whenever we want if we wished it! It’s a joke, a human seeking to lead the Followers of the Crimson Realm—he’s far from qualified! And to think, even the Three Pillars and the Grand Priestess Black Katie show him such respect. Doesn’t he realize how honored he should be? What an attitude!”

Upon hearing the beetle’s words, the Follower by his side could only sigh helplessly.

Just as Fang Zheng had thought, the Masquerade Ball was established on the strength and long-standing prestige of the Three Pillars, the wisdom of Advisor Berupeoru commanded respect, and all Followers of the Crimson Realm sought the counsel and words of encouragement from the Grand Priestess Black Katie upon arriving in this world. They also admired the formidable power of General Shudenan the Shapeshifter.

Compared to these three, the Ritual Snake, whom they had never seen before in person, was naturally intangible to the Followers of the Crimson Realm. They were mostly plagued by a vague sense of confusion that they “remember there is such a person, but he has nothing to do with me.” Not to mention, Fang Zheng’s appearance here as a human being had many of the Followers feeling extremely astonished.

They would never truly believe that their leader was a human, but “Why does our leader appear in the form of a human?”—many Followers of the Crimson Realm had their doubts about this.

“I’ve got a great idea!”

Just then, the large beetle seemed to have thought of something and abruptly stood up.

“That settles it!”

“Wait a minute!”

Seeing his comrade’s rash demeanor, the Follower of the Crimson Realm beside the large beetle suddenly had a very bad feeling.

He couldn’t possibly be thinking of doing something foolish, could he!

“Elder Brother, the time for the audience has arrived.”

“Is that so?”

Hearing Tilia’s voice, Fang Zheng opened his eyes and stood up. In front of him, aside from Tilia, Black Katie and Berupeoru were also already prepared.

“Then, let us go.”

After saying that, Fang Zheng walked down the stairs and headed toward the other side of the corridor. Behind him, Tilia, Black Katie, and Berupeoru silently followed the man’s figure.

Moving forward together.

“———————”

The Daimon slowly opened.

At this moment, the Followers of the Crimson Realm who were originally bustling about suddenly grew quiet. They turned their heads to look at the opening Daimon and Fang Zheng, who walked out from it.

Fang Zheng, at this moment, was no longer dressed in his usual leisurely and casual attire. He was dressed in an exquisite, tailored suit, with a pure black cloak wrapped around him. His medium-length hair was neatly combed to both sides, revealing his handsome and dashing face.

However, the aesthetic standards of humans did not apply to the Followers of the Crimson Realm present, so they evidently didn’t care about Fang Zheng’s appearance. No one spoke; they just silently watched Fang Zheng, expressing their emotions toward this suddenly appearing Alliance Hierarch with their gazes.

Doubt, curiosity, longing, respect, adoration, anger.

All kinds of emotions mingled, creating a pressure that felt almost tangible, almost suffocating. Had it been anyone else, they probably would have stopped in their tracks, but for Fang Zheng, he felt something entirely different.

Is this what a deity feels?

This is the equal “will” of the “God of Creation,” toward all things. The desires of the Followers of the Crimson Realm, the desires of the Fire Mist Warriors, the desires of humans, even a blade of grass, a flower, a fish, a bird. Their wishes, their thoughts, are all permissible.

This is the realm of a god!
