Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 228: Chapter 227: It Takes More than One Cold Day for the River to Freeze Three Feet Deep

To tell the truth, when the Followers of the Crimson Realm and the Fire Mist Warriors heard that Fang Zheng had wiped out the entire Eastern European branch of Fire Mist Warriors, they were in denial.

“You can’t just say he killed them and accept that it happened. We are all civilized people, we need evidence, we need a process, we can’t just believe in rumors and barbaric words… oh my god, did he really kill them?!”

Once the truth of this news was confirmed, everyone was dumbstruck.

This was because the Fire Mist Warriors had not suffered such a major blow in a very long time!

You should know that to ensure foolproof results, the seven who went to the Eastern Europe branch were the strongest there. To tell the truth, although some Fire Mist Warriors felt this approach was not very appropriate, neither the Followers of the Crimson Realm nor the Fire Mist Warriors believed they would fail. After all, it was rare to see seven Fire Mist Warriors acting together, and even if facing the King of the Crimson Realm, it would be difficult for him to escape their joint attack. Not to mention, Fang Zheng was just a human.

And the result… all seven Fire Mist Warriors were dead?

...

Killed by a human?

Of course, strictly speaking, there were three on the opposing side; a human, a Follower of the Crimson Realm, and a Fire Mist Warrior. But “Aizenta” Tilia and Nanoka were not considered strong, a fact acknowledged by both parties. Followers of the Crimson Realm all have a True Name, and once you know the True Name, generally you understand the whole story. Tilia was virtually unknown among the Followers of the Crimson Realm, not even the Kings of the Crimson Realm had heard of her, indicating she was essentially just a newcomer.

And there is even less to say about Nanoka, whose background could be completely verified, it was certain that this Fire Mist Warrior did not possess the ability to deal with veteran Fire Mist Warriors.

So, it must have been Fang Zheng.

After learning of this incident, the reactions of the Followers of the Crimson Realm and the Fire Mist Warriors were notably different.

The Followers of the Crimson Realm mainly enjoyed the spectacle as bystanders; although many Followers of the Crimson Realm were killed by Fang Zheng’s hand, there was rarely any sense of camaraderie among them. Unless they were members of the same force or organization, if someone died, then so be it, there would be no united hatred. Besides, having personally eliminated seven problematic and strong Fire Mist Warriors in one go, the Followers of the Crimson Realm couldn’t help but applaud Fang Zheng—they were nearly ready to flood him with likes.

On the other hand, it was chaos among the Fire Mist Warriors.

With seven Fire Mist Warriors dying simultaneously, the entire branch was essentially uprooted, a situation that hadn’t occurred since the “Reformation Group” days. Moreover, these were veteran Fire Mist Warriors, the loss from their death was just too great.

So, what to do next?

“We must make our stance clear!”

Seated in the theater, a Fire Mist Warrior angrily waved his arms.

“A human, daring to kill Fire Mist Warriors, and so many of them! This is a declaration of war against the Fire Mist Warriors! We must issue a kill order, commanding all Fire Mist Warriors to surround and execute him!”

“Have you lost your mind? The entire branch was wiped out, and you still want people to go to their deaths? Look, who now dares to trouble that man? Besides, this was their own problem. I have long said that even if the Zero Hour Resurgence is a very important Noble Phantasm, it cannot be seized by such means!”

“But to sabotage the Masquerade Ball’s plan, it is necessary! According to the intelligence, the Three Pillars are each searching for the Zero Hour Resurgence, which shows that the Noble Phantasm is very important to them! We must seize the Noble Phantasm before them and then destroy it!”

“That sounds good, but that’s not a reason for you to forcefully snatch it. And … what did you just say? A human, daring to kill a Fire Mist Warrior? What do you mean? Why can’t humans kill Fire Mist Warriors?!”

“How dare you say that? Don’t you know, it’s because of whose efforts that you have been able to live peacefully?”

Accompanied by a roar, a man in a suit stood up, fiercely glaring at another man sitting nearby, wearing glasses. Facing his scolding, the bespectacled man also took off his glasses, stood up defiantly, and glared back at him.

“What’s wrong? Just because the Fire Mist Warriors saved the world, don’t we humans even have the right to speak? What’s the situation with those bastards in the Eastern European branch, don’t you know? They start fights out of nowhere in busy districts, and after the fights, aren’t we the ones who have to clean up the mess? We have made several requests to the external accommodations, hoping that they would restrain themselves a bit and not involve so many civilians. But what was your response? What was your reaction? You guys didn’t give a damn!!!”

At this point, the man clenched his fist and forcefully slammed the back of the chair in front of him.

“What? Just because the Fire Mist Warriors saved the world, does it mean humans deserve to be involved and die miserably? Asking you to be mindful feels like a great insult to you, especially during this battle. Don’t think we don’t know, those bastards started the fight in the city! Fortunately, that gentleman initiated Sealing early; otherwise, how many more people would have died because of your battles? In my opinion, they got what they deserved!!”

“How dare you say that———!!”

“I do dare to say it, if you have the ability, Launch Sealing and kill me, huh? Anyway, tens of thousands of humans have already died in the struggles involving you Fire Mist Warriors, what’s one more? Come on!!”

“I’ll kill you———!!”

“Everyone shut up!!!”

Seeing the situation spiraling out of control, finally, an elderly man dressed in a white suit who was sitting in his seat could no longer restrain himself, shouted, and stood up, interrupting the conflict. He coldly swept his gaze over the conflicting parties, but to his surprise, the man with glasses did not back down at all. Instead, he glared back at the elderly man, as if totally unfazed by his authority. Not only the bespectacled man, but also the people around him looked stern, seemingly unwilling to compromise.

Sure enough, was the conflict between humans and Fire Mist Warriors about to erupt?

Seeing this, the elderly man also sighed deeply inside. The external accommodations held not only Fire Mist Warriors but also humans working together. However, the relationship between the two sides had always been poor. The Fire Mist Warriors believed that they had fought hard to protect the humans, and thus naturally deserved better treatment. On the other hand, humans had long been complaining about the Fire Mist Warriors’ behavior of fighting regardless of time and place, but at that time, they knew that humans needed to rely on Fire Mist Warriors to survive in front of the Followers of the Crimson Realm, so even if they were dissatisfied, they had to bow their heads.

But now, with the appearance of Fang Zheng, the situation had changed.

He was neither a Follower of the Crimson Realm nor a Fire Mist Warrior, nor was he from Mistis, but a pure human being.

What was more important, the immense power exhibited by this human had far surpassed most of the Fire Mist Warriors and Followers of the Crimson Realm.

Unlike the Followers of the Crimson Realm and Fire Mist Warriors who dreaded Fang Zheng, in fact, many of the humans working outside greatly admired Fang Zheng.

Just like the analogy Fang Zheng had made to Nanoka before, the Followers of the Crimson Realm are wolves, and the humans on Earth are sheep. When wolves come, they eat the sheep, but then some wolves turn into sheepdogs to protect the sheep.

But whether wolves or sheepdogs, both are carnivores.

Although the sheep were protected by the sheepdogs, this does not mean they were willing, but without the sheepdogs’ protection, the sheep would be attacked by wolves. Thus, even if the sheep were unwilling, they could only endure.

But one day, a strong ram appeared among the sheep, not only able to head-butt the hungry wolves but also to trample the sheepdogs underfoot.

So, who would the flock trust more?

“Ethnicity shapes allegiance,” everybody understands this truth.

Past Fire Mist Warriors, relying on being the protectors of humanity, had always behaved recklessly, the humans could only boil with silent anger. But now, the situation was different; they also had their own Guardian God. Thus, the accumulated dissatisfaction over the years had finally reached the point of being vented.

“We from the Romania branch will not participate in this operation,”

Having said this, the man with glasses nodded at the old man and then turned and left. Meanwhile, the others beside him also stood up.

“The Ukraine branch feels the same. We are currently short of personnel, and we do not have powerful enough Fire Mist Warriors.”

“Latvia is reconsidering.”

“The Paris headquarters opposes this operation plan.”

Those opposing the proposal were almost all human leaders from the outside dwellings, especially those from the Eastern Europe branches who were even more vehement in their response. Just like the man with glasses said, those seven bastards had wreaked havoc on their territories more than once, and they always had to clean up after them. They were sick of them long ago. They were even well aware that the number of humans who died getting caught in the conflicts between these few Fire Mist Warriors and Followers of the Crimson Realm was not much less than the number of humans devoured by the Followers of the Crimson Realm.

From a certain perspective, these people, too, were like the Followers of the Crimson Realm, with their hands steeped in blood debts!

What about the Fire Mist Warriors? They deserved to die!

“………”

Watching these leaders exit, the expressions of the other Fire Mist Warriors varied, some showing disdain, others looking somber, while others shook their heads and sighed.

The conflict between humans and Fire Mist Warriors could no longer be concealed.

“What are your thoughts going forward?”

Leaving the theater, a few human leaders of the outside world immediately gathered together, and another person looked towards the man with glasses and asked. The man with glasses clearly already had an idea, and he quickly gave an answer.

“I plan to go find that gentleman, and have a talk with him.”

“Is that really okay?”

Hearing the reply of the man with glasses, another person beside him frowned slightly.

“Ater all, he killed so many Fire Mist Warriors and Followers of the Crimson Realm….”

“I have investigated his journey, and the Followers of the Crimson Realm and Fire Mist Warriors he has killed were all threats to humanity. As for those who posed no threat, he almost let them all go, look, he even has a Follower of the Crimson Realm and a Fire Mist Warrior following him, isn’t it the best proof? If he killed everyone he met, then these two couldn’t possibly still be with him. I want to make contact with him first, and then…….”

“And then?”

“…….I think, we humans should also have a plan.”

Hearing this, the man with glasses reached out to adjust his glasses, speaking softly.
