Chapter 243: Chapter 242: Medical Studies Can’t Save Earthlings

“You, you mean to say………”

“You’ve killed quite a number of Followers of the Crimson Realm yourself, Shana.”

Looking at the stunned girl in front of him, Fang Zheng took a sip of his coffee before continuing.

“After those Followers of the Crimson Realm died, was their Power of Existence taken back to the Crimson Realm? No, right? In fact, no matter how many humans the Followers of the Crimson Realm devour, the total amount of Power of Existence in this world remains constant; it doesn’t change at all. And it’s impossible for Followers of the Crimson Realm to take the Power of Existence back with them as a souvenir when they leave this world. Where does that idea of consumption come from? According to the rules of the world, that’s just not possible.”

“But, but… the reality is that storms have appeared in the rift between the two worlds, right?”

At this point, Shana was completely confused.

“Didn’t the devouring of cities cause a lot of damage as well? Does this have nothing to do with devouring?”

“That’s right.”

Fang Zheng nodded at this point.

“It has nothing to do with devouring—but it has to do with transformation.”

“Transformation?”

“This was something I realized only after I gained the memories of the Ritual Snake.”

As Fang Zheng spoke, he gestured with his hand.

“The reason that the storms between the two realms occur is that the subjects being devoured—whether humans or objects—lose their own inherent forms and transform into unstable states, like this…”

While speaking, Fang Zheng picked up a sugar cube and placed it into the coffee. Quickly, the sugar cube, which was originally solid, melted into the coffee. Then, Fang Zheng shook the coffee cup; with his movements, the coffee began to sway, oscillate, and then spill over the edges of the cup from the collision. ƒгeewёbnovel.com

“It is due to such instability and oscillations, accumulating over the years, that storms are produced. On the other hand, if these Powers of Existence could be restored back to objects and phenomena, then the storm would end, and catastrophes would naturally not occur. This means that when the God of Creation took those Followers of the Crimson Realm away, their Power of Existence was not taken away with them but remained in this world. So, that would not lead to any disasters—in fact, it would even prevent disasters from happening.”

“Isn’t that all good then?”

Shana felt even more puzzled. According to Fang Zheng, no matter how you looked at it, the plan seemed too perfect to accept. The Followers of the Crimson Realm would leave and never come back. They wouldn’t take the Power of Existence with them, and these residual powers could be used to repair this world… What could be the problem?

At that thought, Shana couldn’t help but look towards Aralastor. Facing her Contractor’s silent questioning, Aralastor kept silent for a moment before finally speaking.

“But if the nature of the new world is the same as this one, then even if that world has an endless Power of Existence, there would be no guarantee that Followers of the Crimson Realm wouldn’t prey on humans, right?”

“I get it now!”

Hearing this, Shana understood why Aralastor didn’t think this was good news. As Fang Zheng had said, if the cause of “disasters” was not the consumption of the Power of Existence by Angel Envoys but the transformation of humans into unstable states due to being devoured, then no one can be certain that in a new world with endless Power of Existence, Followers of the Crimson Realm would refrain from preying on humans. For Aralastor, this was an essential point to ascertain.

Otherwise, if the “barrier” of the Void Domain were to have humans devoured by Followers of the Crimson Realm, then with the accumulation of such uncertain forms, storms and disasters would still be a matter of time—and perhaps even more widespread.

“So, Fang Zheng…”

This time, there was a questioning tone in Aralastor’s voice.

“Can you guarantee that in the new world, Followers of the Crimson Realm will not prey on humans?”

Confronted with Aralastor’s inquiry, Fang Zheng spread his hands and decisively gave an answer.

“Of course I can’t.”

“…………Huh?”

“I’m saying, Aralastor, are you going senile because of your age?”

With an expression that said “you must be joking,” Fang Zheng stared at Aralastor.

“I’m the ‘God of Creation,’ and you are the ‘Punishment Deity,’ right? Everyone has their duties. Can’t we just do our own jobs? Creating a new world is my task, but placing shackles on the new world is certainly not my business. I came here to reach an understanding with you… What? If I just nod my head and say ‘sure, leave it to me,’ are you going to wash your hands of it and leave? One plays the good cop and the other plays the bad cop—that’s how the whole drama unfolds, right? How come both roles are mine to play? Are you just going to stand by and watch? Are you trying to enjoy the benefits without putting in the effort? What kind of Punishment Deity are you?”

“No… That… Um…”

At this, Aralastor appeared quite embarrassed.

“I didn’t mean that…”

“In any case, that’s all I have to say.”

As he spoke, Fang Zheng took out a business card and placed it in front of Shana.

“Stored within this is a portion of the Grand Verse of Fate the Ritual Snake intends to use to create a new world. You can directly infuse the rule and reason of ‘no eating humans’ into it, then when I create the new world, you can release it—however, let me make myself clear. If the Followers of the Crimson Realm come to hinder you, I won’t lift a finger; the truth lies only within the range of a cannon. If you’re unarmed, don’t blame me for not showing mercy. Also…”

At this point, Fang Zheng swept a meaningful glance at Aralastor.

“Aralastor, you’d better not think about flipping the table with a ‘World Shattering’ when you can’t win the fight. I’ve already agreed with others that this is a grand ceremony for all the Followers of the Crimson Realm worldwide. If you mess it up, my next step will be to start a global war between the Followers of the Crimson Realm and the Fire Mist Warriors—should you displease me, I’ll make sure everyone’s unhappy. So, you’d better not keep thinking about doing things that harm others without benefiting yourself. Medical knowledge won’t save Earthlings…”

“Alright…”

Facing Fang Zheng’s threat, Aralastor had nothing to say; the young man had anticpitated every move he could make. Now, apart from following his script, there was no other path for him.

“As for the issue with the new world, there’s no need for you to worry.”

Knowing the principle of following a stick with a carrot, Fang Zheng immediately offered a sweetener after issuing his threat.

“I’ve decided to establish an Alliance comprised of humans, Fire Mist Warriors, and Followers of the Crimson Realm in the new world, to monitor and restrain the actions of the Followers of the Crimson Realm and prevent them from running amok. I’ve already discussed this with Sanya. Representing the neutral Kings of the Crimson Realm, some have agreed to come to the new world after the Void Mirror is established and join the Alliance to assist us.”

“Yes, the Catastrophic Fire.”

At this moment, the previously inconspicuous “Heart of Myriad Skills” finally spoke up.

“My kin and I think the Void Mirror is a truly wonderful idea, and we hope to see it realized.”

“Since that’s the case, I have nothing more to say.”

This time even Aralastor had no retort. Fang Zheng had planned even the Demon Kings of the Crimson Realm into his scheme—who was he to disagree?

If this plan failed, Aralastor was certain he would be buried by the spittle of his own kin back in the Crimson Realm. And frustratingly, unlike the other two Demon Gods, the Catastrophic Fire had no Enchanted Clan…

In other words, if something went wrong, he would have no one to take the fall for him…

“Now, there’s only one last thing I need your help with, Shana.”

At this, Fang Zheng stood up, looking at the girl in front of him. Sensing his gaze, Shana’s cheeks turned slightly red, and she hastily stood up as well.

“What is it, Fang Zheng?”

“It’s simple, just close your eyes.”

“Close my eyes?”

Although unsure of what Fang Zheng intended to do, Shana hesitated for a moment but still closed her eyes. Then she heard a familiar voice whispering in her ear.

“Sorry, Princess, but I need you to play Sleeping Beauty for a while.”

“Mmph—!”

Feeling the male breath close to her ear, Shana shuddered and, before she could comprehend the meaning of Fang Zheng’s words, her consciousness was abruptly cut off.

In the blink of an eye, the delicate form of the girl disappeared into Fang Zheng’s embrace, while he raised his hand to glance at the crystal ornament on his phone.

“I never thought I’d use this thing so soon… Indeed, everything has its use.”

With this thought, Fang Zheng sighed and then opened his phone to dial a number. Soon, the voice of Berupeoru echoed from the phone.

“Alliance Hierarch, it’s me.”

“Everything’s ready on my end, let’s get started… Proceed with the original plan, begin the assault on the outer realm, and let those Fire Mist Warriors know… our Masquerade Ball has returned!”

“As you wish!”
