Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 239: Chapter 238: We Are Not the Villains; We Are the Promoters of History (Part 1)

Mr. Fang Zheng’s situation was very strange.

After activating the Soulstone, Fang Zheng found that his Soulstone seemed to be different from the others.

And the biggest difference lay in the information.

[Soulstone: Ritual Snake]

[Quality: Fantasy]

[Activation Count: ∞ (???)]

[Gained Benefits: ???, ???, ???]

A Fantasy Grade Soulstone with an unlimited Activation Count?

Fang Zheng believed this was just fooling ghosts; he can’t possibly believe his luck was that good. If a Fantasy Grade Soulstone could be activated an unlimited number of times, why fear anything? He could return to the Main World and instantly dominate everything—skies, land, even the air!

As expected, it wasn’t surprising to Fang Zheng when he saw the question marks after the count; he understood that it couldn’t be so simple. Indeed, the Activation Count of the “Ritual Snake” was infinite, but on the flip side, activating this Soulstone must require extremely stringent conditions. In other words, other Soulstones could be used anytime despite having limited counts, but Fang Zheng could only use this one whenever it was willing, or conditions were met…

Damn it, now it all depended on the benefits this time. Otherwise, Fang Zheng feared he might have drawn an African warrior, which would be utterly useless and a waste of so much time…

“Rise, Black Katie, Feckoru.”

Fang Zheng leaned back in his chair, smiling as he looked down at the two subjects beneath him. With Black Katie’s arrival at his side, the second element to unlock the Soulstone had been met, and Fang Zheng had entered a rather peculiar state.

In fact, Fang Zheng would enter such a state each time he used a Soulstone. He didn’t know if it was because he absorbed memories from inside the Soulstone, but his temperament would change as well. If anything, Fang Zheng resembled more the character from the Soulstone—perfectly mimicking it, 100% accuracy.

He possessed the memories, temperament, and skills of the Soulstone—all of it. If Fang Zheng wished, he could even perfectly replicate everything about the person in the Soulstone, just like a skilled actor can embody any role. But Fang Zheng wouldn’t let this confuse his will, the same as now, as he still just sat there lazily, even his tone remained unchanged. However, upon hearing Fang Zheng’s voice, visible excitement quickly flashed across the face of the girl in the white robe, and she stood up promptly.

Behind her, Feckoru also hurriedly stood up. Only Tilia and Nanoka beside them remained silent—As beings summoned by the Dimensional Codex, Tilia obviously was not unfamiliar with Fang Zheng’s current condition. And Nanoka seemed completely oblivious to any issue, just standing there blankly… Hmm, this girl was always like that.

“As you can see, the will of the Ritual Snake has returned.”

Fang Zheng slightly adjusted his speaking technique. The will of the Ritual Snake indeed had returned, but he was not the Ritual Snake. Importantly, he was human, not a Follower of the Crimson Realm. Fang Zheng didn’t intend to give up control of his body either, so he left his words at that, letting them interpret the rest…

After all, as long as he held onto the Soulstone, the equation of him equaling the Ritual Snake stood firm. Fang Zheng didn’t know how the Dimensional Codex and the Soulstone were handling this issue, but clearly, it wasn’t a problem. Perhaps Followers of the Crimson Realm might wonder why their Alliance Hierarch was human, but once the aura of the Ritual Snake erupted, they would have no further thoughts.

This was akin to the presence of Divine Might or Dragon Might; no matter how harmless you became, the moment the overwhelming spiritual energy emerged, even if you turned into a squirrel, the lesser beings had no choice but to prostrate and bow their heads.

And now Fang Zheng’s presence was called… Serpent Majesty?

Damn it, why did that sound so low?

With the help of the Soulstone, Fang Zheng now clearly understood the Masquerade Ball plan. The first phase was to first summon the will of the Ritual Snake back to the current world. For this, they even went through the trouble of setting up something called the Tyrant or some other darn name… Of course, it was no longer necessary for Fang Zheng.

And after the will of the Ritual Snake was summoned back to this world, they would commence the second task—to reopen the space that had been sealed by the “Forbidden Arcane” in the past, then break the seal and bring back the Ritual Snake’s body.

Then came the third phase…

Fang Zheng had to admit, the Ritual Snake was a great leader; with such a deity looking over the Followers of the Crimson Realm, their future prosperity seemed assured… Really, the Goddess of Order from the Main World and gods from other worlds should take a look. To earn the heartfelt loyalty of your followers, cut the crap with divine oracles and doing nothing, and learn from the Ritual Snake. Sealed in the rift between two worlds for three thousand years, he never forgot to bless his people.

Comparing the two, Fang Zheng suddenly realized that if it weren’t for the Ritual Snake’s naivety and the backstabbing betrayal from his own kind, the Followers of the Crimson Realm under his guidance might have conquered Earth and united the Jianghu for all eternity!

Indeed, to any nation, the so-called “white left” are akin to godlike fools for comrades.

Finally, Fang Zheng understood why the Followers of the Crimson Realm despised the Fire Mist Warriors so much—those treacherous “white left,” skinning and deboning them would be letting them off lightly… But… well, who told him he was human?

Having incompetent comrades on the other side isn’t so bad, is it?

With this in mind, Fang Zheng slightly smiled, then cast his gaze towards the white-robed young girl standing below.

“Then, let’s start the second phase.”

“Yes, as you wish, Alliance Hierarch.”

Bowing respectfully, the girl replied in a soft voice.

The Masquerade Ball began to take action.

Meanwhile, Fang Zheng took the opportunity to explain the current situation to Tilia and Nanoka. After hearing Fang Zheng’s account, Tilia didn’t have much of a reaction, whereas Nanoka seemed genuinely shocked.

“Mr. Fang Zheng, you’re not deceiving me, are you? The Ritual Snake…”

“I am certainly not lying to you. In fact, as I’ve said, I am very optimistic about the Masquerade Ball’s operation. So, both emotionally and logically, I will give them a hand.”

This time, Fang Zheng was sincere, mainly because after learning of this plan from the Ritual Snake’s Soulstone, he had decided it was the best course of action—naturally, apart from its naivety, which seemed almost symbolic of the Ritual Snake itself.

This naivety was precisely what Fang Zheng needed to address, but before that…

“What you need to do next is to stay by my side.”

Walking along the corridor, Fang Zheng turned to Tilia and Nanoka at his side. It had been several days since he had brought them to the Hall of the Star Dawn. This period might have been difficult for Nanoka, but it wasn’t particularly so for Fang Zheng and Tilia. In fact, the reason they hadn’t taken any action was precisely because of the current situation. The Alliance Hierarch’s return was a significant event for the Masquerade Ball, and therefore the presence of all Three Pillars was necessary. In reality, it was just now that Fang Zheng had learned from Feckoru that all the Three Pillars had gathered, awaiting his arrival.

And this would be the moment that Fang Zheng, as the Ritual Snake, would formally appear before the Followers of the Crimson Realm for the first time.

“Creak—” The door responded and swung open as Fang Zheng effortlessly pushed the heavy wooden door and strode into the hall. Hearing the sound of the door, the three individuals inside turned to face the approaching Fang Zheng.

The person in the center, small in stature and looking to be around Tilia’s age, with short aqua hair, dressed in a white robe and a large hat, was the Shrine Maiden, also the core of the Three Pillars—The Seat of Apex, Black Katie.

To Black Katie’s left stood a tall, voluptuous woman of indeterminate age, clad in a black off-shoulder gown, her right eye covered by an eye patch. Yet, even so, her left eye and the one in the center of her forehead remained calmly fixed on Fang Zheng, unwavering.

She was the military strategist of the Masquerade Ball and one of the Three Pillars, the Arbiter of Paradoxes, Berupeoru.

And on the other side stood a middle-aged man donning a suit, wearing sunglasses, and with sleeked-back hair. His hands in his pockets and a cryptic smile at the corner of his mouth, he watched the trio approaching him.

He was the last of the Three Pillars, the General known as “The Shapeshifter,” Xiu Denan.

At this point, all three giants of the Masquerade Ball, also the Enchanted of the God of Creation, had assembled.

Seeing this scene, Fang Zheng also revealed a smile of triumph.

Next, it was time for his grand entrance.
