Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations

Chapter 430: Chapter 430: Keep It from the Madam

Butler Shelby rushed to the coffee table, glanced at the caller ID, and quickly picked up the receiver, ”Hello, ma’am! How is Mr. Kingston?”

”Mary made it back safely, right?” Mia Lane finally relaxed; otherwise, how could the news be delivered?

”She just got back. Is Mr. Kingston seriously injured?” That was his main concern.

Hearing Butler Shelby’s anxiety, Mia Lane calmly replied, ”Luckily, it didn’t harm the bones or tendons, just the dagger went a bit deep. The wound has been stitched up. Don’t tell Mrs. Kingston about this for now to avoid her worrying, remember?”

”I understand.” Butler Shelby was still worried, ”How long until he recovers? It must be painful, right? How is he doing?”

”He has to stay at Dr. Shelby’s for a week, and if Mrs. Kingston asks at Emerald Cove, say Mr. Kingston is on a business trip.”

”Alright, alright.” Butler Shelby nodded fervently.

Mia Lane added, ”There’s nothing else, just wanted to inform you guys.”

”Okay.”

Not long after the call ended, Finn Morgan’s car stopped in front of Ian Shelby’s villa.

He wasn’t at ease, so he purposely came by to check.

In the room, Justin Kingston briefly went over work matters with Finn Morgan, not avoiding Anton Miller who was lying on another bed, staring at the ceiling.

Some projects were confidential.

But regarding his company’s affairs, Anton Miller wasn’t interested.

He had also taken painkillers and was now lying there, numb like a child, almost humming a tune.

Yet in his mind, he replayed the scene of Justin Kingston taking the stab for him.

Over and over... His mood suddenly became heavy.

In the living room, Mia Lane called the director, ”Sorry, I have some things to deal with recently. The dubbing might be delayed by a week, but I’ll ensure to catch up afterward.”

”No problem at all,” the director said cheerfully, ”Everyone has busy times. Honestly, just having you agree to voice our drama is already our greatest honor. We have no demands of you.”

Mia Lane didn’t say much, simply thanked him, and then hung up the phone.

As Finn Morgan was leaving, Mia Lane walked him to the yard, ”I’m entrusting you with the company’s matters.”

”It’s my duty,” Finn Morgan responded, ”I’ll also keep the company’s situation confidential.”

The next morning.

Clearwater Bay.

Kristina Kingston woke up feeling unhappy, as if a heavy stone was weighing down her heart, with a constant sense of foreboding.

She couldn’t accept the news about her son attending the script wrap party with Mia Lane.

Especially since he was involved with Anton Miller again, that kid just made her uneasy.

After being with Mia Lane, her son’s tastes declined; he didn’t even distinguish the occasion, and Kristina worried that if it continued, he’d end up common.

”Grandma, are you unhappy?”

As she went downstairs, Gigi and Dolly suddenly appeared.

Kristina Kingston looked at the children, her expression softening slightly, ”Not at all.”

”But you have the words ’unhappy’ written all over your face!” Children don’t lie.

The children held her hands on either side, ”Shall we go downstairs?” guiding her downstairs.

”Grandma, can you talk to us?” Gigi asked as he walked, glancing back at her, ”Did you have a nightmare last night?”

Dolly comforted in her tender voice, ”Dreams are fake, Grandma, don’t be scared! Dolly will sleep with you from now on!”

Listening to the children’s chatter, Kristina Kingston felt a sense of healing.

She sighed lightly, her mood naturally improving a lot.

Breakfast was still lavish, with the children’s favorite foods.

”Grandma, did you watch the news?” Gigi sat in the dining chair, took a sip of milk, and blinked his big eyes, ”Is it because Dad and Mom went to the crew’s celebration party that you’re upset?”

This little guy, is he a mind reader?

Facing his gaze, Kristina Kingston felt inexplicably awkward.
