Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations

Chapter 419: Chapter 419: Suspected of Impersonation

Barbara Sutton didn’t notice the change in her mood and said, ”Monica, do you think I should be brave for once? Even if I’m rejected, I want to tell him how I feel.”

Monica Usher didn’t answer immediately.

Barbara lowered her gaze, a hint of sadness flashed in her eyes, ”Because I don’t want to leave regrets in life, he’s the first person to make me feel this way.”

”Let me give you a piece of advice.” Monica pondered for a moment, ”Don’t rush to confess. You can subtly make him think you’re a great person, but this isn’t about being good to him.”

Barbara, having graduated not long ago and inexperienced in matters of the heart, didn’t understand her meaning.

She turned her eyes to Monica, ”What do you mean?”

Monica said, ”There are quite a few female employees in the company who have confessed to Finn Morgan. I know of at least a dozen, not to mention the many wealthy young ladies.”

Barbara felt an immense pressure!

Monica smiled and said, ”In this day and age, he still receives handwritten love letters, but he rejects them without a second thought.”

”Make him think I’m good?” Barbara pondered, ”Not about being good to him?”

”If you’re good to him, he’ll know that you like him,” Monica said, ”If he doesn’t feel anything for you, he’ll immediately dislike you and distance himself, because he’s not the kind of guy who enjoys ambiguous relationships with women.”

Got it.

Barbara really understood now.

Suddenly, she felt admiration for Monica, realizing that being a few years older truly makes a difference.

”Is this what they mean by ’Bloom, and the butterflies will come’?” Barbara understood the saying more deeply.

”Exactly.”

After a while, the car stopped in front of the club.

But Monica also knew that sometimes, no matter how brightly you bloom, people might not even glance your way.

Feelings are all about fate.

They got out of the car together.

Monica said to Barbara, ”You go see him. I’ll watch from outside.” This club generally had glass walls.

”Okay.” Barbara knew she was no longer the group’s deputy manager. If she went in, President Albright might tease her, which would not be good.

The club’s environment was top-notch, considered high-class in Riventhal.

Because it was Justin Kingston they were meeting, President Albright arrived very early.

He was half an hour early, not daring to slack off, accompanied by two assistants.

In the designated meeting hall, Barbara saw through the glass wall, together with Monica, the three men inside.

Judging by the seating, the one sitting in the middle was President Albright.

He was portly and beady-eyed, looking like trouble...

Barbara stepped inside, and the three men’s eyes fell on her, their expressions slightly changing.

”Hello President Albright, I’m sent by CEO Kingston, representing Kingston Group today.” Barbara remained composed, cutting to the chase, ”Our CEO had a last-minute issue, and couldn’t reach you by phone, so he sent me to tell you that our discussion with your company will be postponed.”

The old man named Albright looked Barbara up and down like a spotlight, then put down his crossed legs and stood up.

”What’s your name?” he asked as he walked towards Barbara.

Feeling the sleaziness in his eyes, Barbara stepped back two steps, ”My name is Barbara Sutton, I’m CEO Kingston’s assistant.”

”Isn’t Finn Morgan the CEO’s assistant?” Albright’s mouth curled up as he reached out to lift her chin, ”Who are you trying to fool here?”

”President Albright, please have some respect.” Barbara took another step back.

”Respect?” Albright paused, as if he had heard a new term, once again eyeing her up and down, ”You deliberately came to impersonate CEO’s assistant with such effort, isn’t it really for me?”
