Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations

Chapter 417: Chapter 417: A Thorny Task

The warm sunlight poured down, the gentle breeze carried the scent of flowers, blowing their hair and brushing the hems of their clothes.

Surrounded by descendants, it was a scene of tranquil times.

”Dolly’s chess skills are impressive; she won again.” Kristina Kingston admitted her loss, wholeheartedly convinced.

”There are two reasons,” Gigi said, ”her intelligence takes after dad!”

Oh, what a sweet talker!

Kristina Kingston looked at him, with a hint of curiosity, ”And the other reason?”

”My mommy taught me well!” Dolly blurted out, her big eyes turning into crescent moons with her smile.

Kristina Kingston was momentarily taken aback, then her expression relaxed significantly.

In the elegant and simple CEO office of the Kingston Group.

Justin Kingston, dressed in a black handmade shirt, sat at the desk. He had just signed a document and picked up his phone.

In the recording studio.

The phone in Mary’s palm suddenly lit up. Although it was set to silent, she happened to notice it.

She stood up and showed the screen to Mia through a soundproof glass wall.

She was recording and saw the lit screen, signaling Mary to answer first.

Mary swiped the answer button and softly spoke, ”Hello, Mr. Kingston.”

”Where’s Mia?” Justin Kingston’s deep, magnetic voice came through.

”She’s recording. Do you need to speak to her?”

”When will you guys be finished?” Justin asked, ”I’ll come to pick you up.”

”It might be a bit late tonight,” Mary truthfully told him, ”The director just came over and invited us to a celebration party, and Mia agreed to go.”

”Celebration party?” Justin was surprised, but upon thinking it over, he could only accept it, ”Well, I’ll go too. I’ll come by to pick you up and try on some dresses. When will the recording be finished?”

”Soon, about half an hour or so.”

”Okay, wait for me.”

After saying that, Justin hung up the phone.

Anton Miller as the lead actor would definitely go, how could he let Mia meet him alone?

No way, no way, as the rightful partner, Justin had to go too!

At the entrance of the office, Barbara Sutton held two reports and knocked on the open door, ”CEO Kingston.” She walked inside, ”Please approve these, they’re a bit urgent.”

Justin looked up at her, dialed a number, but found it couldn’t connect; the other line was busy.

So, he took the reports and told Barbara, ”Stop everything you’re doing and go to the club across the street to meet Aether Group’s President Albright. Let him know I have a last-minute situation this afternoon, and the meeting is canceled.”

After saying this, he began to review the reports.

Barbara memorized his words, extracting the critical information.

The club across the street, Aether Group’s President Albright, meeting canceled... This kind of task was new for Barbara, as she had never dealt with the heads of client companies directly before.

Even when she worked with Monica Usher, she hadn’t been involved.

If the other person were easy to talk to, it would be fine. But if they were prone to mood swings and irrational behavior, she might not be able to handle it.

”Did you hear what I just said to you?” Justin asked.

”Heard it, CEO Kingston.” Barbara told herself this was a test, and she had to complete it perfectly!

Barbara took the signed reports and headed down, planning to file the documents on her way.

To save time, she decided to go to the club immediately.

She had just delivered the reports to the finance department and re-entered the elevator, where two other female employees were present.

”Did you hear? Kingston is going to cooperate with Aether Group.” One female employee shook her head, sighing, ”I really don’t know what CEO Kingston is thinking.”

”Aether’s reputation is so bad. Mainly their boss’s personal conduct is awful, with a very chaotic private life. Many female subordinates can’t escape his clutches.”

”Maybe our CEO Kingston doesn’t know, doesn’t read gossip.”

”Or maybe he simply doesn’t care about these things. It’s not about making friends, just doing business, right? As long as there’s money to be made.”

Ding, the elevator doors opened.

The two female employees walked out, leaving Barbara stunned alone.
