Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations

Chapter 405: Chapter 405: The Feeling of a Heartbeat

Finn Morgan finished his meal and left first, while Barbara Sutton sat there alone, watching his figure walk away.

She felt a bit dazed; was it true just now? She had lunch with her dream guy.

Her heart felt sweet, yet there was a hint of the sadness of parting.

Because he was there, she woke up early every day, filled with motivation, especially looking forward to seeing him.

But now that he left, Barbara felt as if her whole mood darkened.

Before entering the main building after lunch, she saw her reflection in the glass wall, which due to the lighting, gave her an illusion of being about eight feet tall.

So she stopped, picked up her phone to take a picture of the glass reflection, and then posted it on Moments.

As soon as she returned to the office.

Barbara Sutton found that Monica had liked her post and even left a comment.

This made Barbara think of her again, and she wondered how she was doing lately, planning to visit her after work.

The afternoon passed quickly.

Because she had trained with Monica Usher, Barbara Sutton’s work efficiency was high, and Finn Morgan also thought she was excellent, a talent with potential.

After work, she bought some fruits and went to Monica Usher’s apartment, letting herself in with the fingerprint password.

It just happened that she hadn’t gone to the gym today.

”Monica, are you home?” Barbara Sutton set down some jackfruit, ”I brought you your favorite.”

”Have you eaten?”

”I’ve eaten,” she replied, ”I thought you weren’t home.”

”Aren’t you working overtime?” Monica Usher looked in good spirits, ”Seems like being with me was quite taxing, working late every day.”

”It’s alright,” Barbara Sutton said with a smile, ”Being with you, I can learn a lot.”

Monica Usher noticed she looked radiant, ”Anything majorly happy happening lately? Tell me about it?”

”Nothing,” she laughed, her smile both charming and bashful.

Having been through it herself, Monica Usher immediately saw something, ”Are you in love?”

”No!” she denied, but her heart skipped a beat.

That expression, that demeanor, Monica Usher knew.

She smirked, nibbling on jackfruit as she asked, ”Who’s the person? Come on, tell me?”

”No one,” she continued denying.

”Barbara Sutton, if you don’t say, I won’t ask in the future either,” Monica Usher said, ”I won’t be able to give you good advice. As someone who’s been through this, I’ve gained some new insights about relationships.”

It seemed President Usher had completely let go; she could talk about it so casually?

”Special Assistant Morgan,” Barbara Sutton softly spoke, not daring to look up at her, her heart was anxious too.

Monica Usher was slightly taken aback, looking at her in disbelief, ”...”

The living room fell into a brief silence...

”I don’t know if this is right,” Barbara Sutton bit her lip, feeling a bit flustered inside, and looked up at her, ”But I’ve found myself feeling differently about him.”

Monica Usher said nothing, choosing to listen.

She gathered her courage and continued, ”Once I accidentally bumped into him, he helped me pick up scattered papers, our fingers touched, and it felt like an electric shock, I was numb all over.”

Monica Usher slowly regained her composure from the shock, ”And what about him? Does he feel differently about you?”

”I don’t know,” how could she dare to ask?

”So you’ve fallen for him, do you admit it?” Monica Usher asked directly.

Barbara Sutton was silent for a moment, then sighed lightly, ”I lose sleep over him, I look forward to seeing him every day, I’m full of motivation because of him every day... these emotions make me happy, but also a bit of suffering, because I don’t know what he thinks.”

”He...” Monica Usher said bluntly, ”he has a fiancée.”
