Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations

Chapter 223: Chapter 223: Thankfully, Anton Miller Was Here

Aethelburg, in Aurelia University Hospital.

Justin Kingston lay covered in blood on the operating table in the emergency room, with seven or eight surgical experts working in perfect harmony, trying to pull him back from the grip of death!

The most crucial thing right now was to stop the bleeding. He had a head injury, and his consciousness was already unclear; he didn’t respond to the doctors calling him.

All the doctors were in a state of extreme tension, racing against time.

”Mia...” With whatever will he had left, he uttered a very weak voice, which the doctors couldn’t hear and had no time to decipher.

In the last moments of life, the person Justin most wanted to see was still her.

Outside the door, several attendants were anxiously waiting. Not many people were informed about CEO Kingston’s car accident. The executives of the Aethelburg branch were also unaware, so no one came.

At Sovereign International Airport, travelers came and went in front of the terminal.

Mia Lane stood still beside a tall stone pillar, taking one last look at the city’s architecture before leaving.

Not far away, a shifty-eyed man had been staring at her for a long time and was now quietly approaching her.

Just as Mia turned around, the man suddenly snatched her bag from her shoulder and took off running!

”Ah!”

She nearly stumbled from the force, but once she regained her footing, she instinctively chased after him—

”Stop! Thief! Thief!! Someone’s stealing!!”

”Stop! Give me back my bag!! There’s no money inside!!”

”It’s full of worthless stuff! It’s useless to you!”

The man looked back every few steps, running as if he had stolen five million, incredibly fast!

Mia chased frantically, though she was quite agile, being a girl, the gap between them grew, and she was anxious and desperate!

In this era, not many people act bravely for a just cause.

At this moment, several airport security guards joined in the chase for the thief!

Anton Miller, just out of the airport, inadvertently saw this scene and, after focusing, realized it was indeed her.

He took off running after them!

Mia was out of breath and stopped, panting heavily.

”Are you okay?” Anton Miller grabbed her, who was exhausted to the point of collapse.

At the familiar voice through her ears, Mia turned abruptly, meeting the deep eyes of the man, ”Hurry! Help me get my bag back!! I’m begging you! That bag is very important to me!”

Anton Miller released her and strode forward in pursuit!!

Long legs do have an advantage, and Anton Miller, like a long-distance running athlete, quickly overtook the few airport security and got closer to the robber who committed the crime in broad daylight.

Anton Miller sped up, and as he passed by, he accurately grabbed the strap of the bag!

With another strong pull, he jerked the bag into his hand, flinging the thief far away!

He dashed a few steps forward, and before the thief could steady himself, he caught him by the collar, ”Let’s go to the police station! It’s comfy there!” then handed him over to the airport security guards who had arrived.

Then Anton Miller ran back, soon reaching Mia’s side, handing her the bag, ”Quick, check if anything’s missing.”

”Thank you!” She opened the bag like a treasure, cup, keychain, jade pendant, photo album... they were all there.

She nearly cried tears of joy, bowed deeply to him, ”Thank you so much!”

Anton Miller’s face also showed a faint smile.

Mia suddenly felt a bit uncomfortable in her stomach, inhaling sharply from the pain, her delicate eyebrows knitting slightly.

”What’s wrong with you?” Anton Miller, concerned, held her shoulder, ”Do you feel uncomfortable anywhere?”

”No.” She forced a smile, ”What are you doing here?”

Anton Miller, however, noticed her complexion wasn’t good, ”Where exactly are you unwell? Do you want to go to the hospital?”

”I don’t want to go to the hospital.”

”Then where are you staying?” he asked, ”I’ll take you back to rest first.”
