Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations

Chapter 216: Chapter 216: An Unexpected Gain

Mia Lane doesn’t plan to stay too long in Aethelburg; she just wants to revisit the paths they walked and the scenery they saw.

These will be the most beautiful memories of her life.

She keeps telling herself, what feelings could a short time together hold?

Perhaps she will let it go after a while?

Yet every time she thinks about the possibility of never seeing him again, she feels so sad and remains silent.

After dinner, she put on her headphones and left, playing Angela Chang’s song ”A Diao” on repeat. The singer’s clear voice brought her a moment of inner peace.

Alone, she took the elevator up to the observation deck they had visited together. Most of the people there were fervent couples, paired up like beautiful sights themselves.

She walked around the railing; while other tourists admired the city’s 360-degree beauty, only Mia Lane looked up at the stars.

The night sky tonight was especially beautiful, filled with stars shining brightly, and the breeze was a bit cool.

She wondered how Justin Kingston was... Are the nights in Riventhal as beautiful?

Could he accept her leaving?

Does he feel as sad as she does?

Does he feel the same regret?

Or perhaps the same helplessness?

He values family so much; he must care about Kristina Kingston’s feelings too.

What Mia Lane didn’t know was that at this moment, Justin Kingston was gazing at the same starry sky with her.

Except he was thirty thousand feet high, the twinkling stars made him miss her even more.

Coming down from the observation deck, Mia Lane walked alone on the bustling street, against the evening breeze, listening to music... like a wandering soul.

She thought of that night when they walked side by side, and a bit of bitterness spread in her heart.

Is he taking his stomach medication on time?

Is he trying to eat some food every day?

Is he busy with work?

Is he still staying up late?

Does he have time to spend with Gigi and Dolly?

Has he tried to find her?

As Mia Lane walked, certain emotions in her heart began to accumulate, and she wanted to control them.

Inadvertently, she looked up and saw the photo studio where they had developed photos together last time.

It looked exquisite under the warm yellow lights, with a touch of nostalgia.

The arched facade was somewhat damaged, with twinkling light strips, exuding a kind of incomplete beauty, and some old photos hung on the outer wall.

She paused for a few seconds, hesitant but unable to resist the urge to enter, considering it was also a place marked by their footprints.

The shop owner was a middle-aged woman around forty, with standard blue eyes and blonde hair, quite plump but very friendly.

”Ah! It’s you...!” She recognized Mia Lane at a glance, exclaiming excitedly, ”Weren’t you here a few days ago to develop photos? With Mr. Kingston? You are his wife!”

Mia Lane stopped in her tracks, incredulous as she met the woman’s gaze.

Although the woman spoke English, Mia Lane understood.

Immediately after, the shop owner took out an album and handed it to her, ”Look quickly! You both endorsed Miss Alice’s debut work, with a proposal scene staged directly at the castle estate, it’s gone viral online, can we take a picture together?”

Mia Lane took the album and opened it, on the clear green lawn, in front of the beautiful castle, he knelt on one knee in front of her, placing a ring symbolizing eternal true love on her finger...

Each high-definition image was dreamily beautiful, capturing moments from the endorsement.

The shop owner could tell she was deeply moved, watching her gently slide her fingertip over the photo as if caressing the people in it.

”Mrs. Kingston, this album is for you, can you take a picture with me?” Before she finished speaking, the shop owner had already picked up her phone, standing behind Mia Lane for two quick selfies without waiting for her assent.

”Thank you! Mrs. Kingston! Why didn’t Mr. Kingston come along?”

Mia Lane closed the album, returning to her senses with a smile, ”He’s busy with work.”

”Of course, as the president of a big company, I wish you everlasting happiness!”

”Thank you, and thank you for the album.” Mia Lane’s lips curled into a smile as she tucked the album into her bag and stepped out of the photo studio.

Was this considered an unexpected gain?

In fact, even more unexpected gains were still ahead!
