Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations

Chapter 202: Chapter 202: Kneeling in Admission of Guilt

”I admit.” Monica Usher nodded, hesitated for a moment, then said, ”But I regret it deeply. If it weren’t for my actions that day, Mia Lane wouldn’t have entered his world, there wouldn’t be a child.”

Kristina Kingston looked up at her.

She continued, ”I just wanted to have him. I love him, but I don’t know what to do to make him love me.”

Thinking about her feelings for him over the years, Monica Usher’s lips curled into a smile, but a hint of sadness flashed in her eyes. ”He never saw me. I’m afraid I’ll grow old without ever being with the person I love, so I wanted to use a child to tie him down. If I were pregnant, there would be a bit more hope.”

Kristina Kingston was unexpectedly moved, feeling somewhat heavy-hearted.

Unrequited love is one of the most painful things in the world.

”As long as I still love him and can stay by his side, my life isn’t too bad.” Her face was full of sorrow.

”And the other day, when you messed with my medicine? Was that also because you love him?”

Kristina Kingston’s gaze fell upon her face like lightning, making Monica Usher’s heart nearly stop!

”I...” She faced the sharp gaze of the middle-aged woman from the sofa, her mind in fragments. Mia Lane had said she wouldn’t expose her!

”If Jerry Garcia hadn’t told me, I think I would have never known that I dodged a bullet.”

Jerry Garcia?

Facing Mrs. Kingston’s deep, cold gaze, Monica Usher’s legs folded as she knelt down.

Mary stood not far away, staring at her with wide eyes, rejecting her!

How can someone be so bad?!

”I’m sorry, Auntie.” For a moment, Monica Usher felt the world turn blank, as if it lost all sound, ”I was momentarily confused, I didn’t mean to harm you. You’ve been so kind to me; I’ll never forget that.”

She looked up, her voice filled with anguish, ”Auntie, please forgive me. I swear I’ll never do something so foolish again. Truly, never again!”

”Auntie...”

As she looked up, Kristina Kingston saw the mottled traces of tears on her face.

In her memory, Monica Usher would never cry.

She was stronger than boys; Kristina Kingston had never seen her cry before. This is the first time.

A few tears further tugged at her heart. After all, she had supported this child all these years, reprimanded them, and though they had made mistakes, it hadn’t caused any major harm. How could she not forgive?

Seeing Mrs. Kingston’s eyes also moisten, Monica Usher’s voice cracked with sobs, ”As long as I see a glimmer of hope for spending my life with Justin Kingston, I’m filled with anticipation for life. Without him, life has no meaning.”

”Auntie, I love him so, so much... That’s why I lost control. Please forgive me; I promise I won’t act foolishly again.”

”You can punish me however you like, demote me, kick me out of the company, but please don’t make me leave Justin Kingston...”

”Alas!” Kristina Kingston sighed heavily, ”Go back and reflect on this carefully!” She seemed somewhat disappointed in her, but still didn’t utterly condemn her.

Monica Usher watched as Auntie got up and left. She sat on the ground crying, her heart aching as if torn apart.

Mary turned and followed the lady toward the living room.

Monica Usher drove away from Clearwater Bay, her mind close to exploding.

The images before her eyes started to overlap, she tightly gripped the steering wheel, pressed the brake pedal, and calmly parked the car by the side of the road.

She only felt a wave of grievance, nobody understood her love for Justin Kingston.

With tear-blurred eyes, she looked out the window; if Auntie sentenced her to death, what would she do? A sense of helplessness enveloped her.
