Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations

Chapter 221: Chapter 221: Mary, Something Happened...

At this moment, the phone rang, and Monica Usher picked it up.

The person on the phone told her, ”President Usher, your photo album has been developed. Should I deliver it to your office, or will you pick it up after work?”

”Deliver it to the office, please,” Monica was excited. ”I’ll have my assistant meet you at the entrance.”

”Okay, I’ll head out now.”

After the call ended, Monica Usher said to Barbara Sutton, ”A few days ago, I took some portrait photos for Mrs. Kingston. They’ve been printed into an album. Could you go to the office entrance and pick it up for me? Be careful, please. Don’t let anything happen to it.”

”Why not have it delivered directly to the hospital?” Barbara Sutton was puzzled. ”It’s probably about the same distance, right?”

Monica’s expression changed slightly, and she said a bit awkwardly, ”I don’t want anyone to know I’m in the hospital.”

Barbara Sutton understood. She was the ironclad Monica Usher, a person who was usually averse to hospital environments.

”Okay, take care of yourself and press the bell if you need anything!” She got up and left.

Half an hour later, the assistant brought the album over.

Monica Usher sat leaning against the headboard, eagerly reaching out to take the album and flipping through it. Each photo had been carefully selected, with high resolution and excellent layout. She thought the album was perfect, and her aunt would definitely like it!

With a joyful smile on her face, she lifted the covers and prepared to get out of bed.

”Where are you going?” Barbara Sutton was startled.

While putting on her shoes, she said, ”I’m going to Clearwater Bay to deliver the album to my aunt!”

”There’s no rush right now!” Barbara was worried, ”You’re not fully recovered yet! The album can be sent later. The doctor said you need to rest in bed! You know there’s bruising in your abdomen, right?”

”It’s okay, I feel much better,” she insisted on leaving, ”Please help me with the discharge procedures.”

”No, I won’t!” Barbara Sutton was anxious.

”...” Monica paused, raising her eyes to look at her, her gaze slightly cold, ”Careful, I might dock your pay.”

”This isn’t about work! Dock it if you must! Here in the hospital, I’m your friend! I’m doing this for your own good!” Barbara Sutton was stubborn.

But Monica was also stubborn, ”I must go today. Either you drive or I will.”

Barbara Sutton knew she couldn’t out-stubborn her, so she reluctantly agreed, ”I’ll drive you to Clearwater Bay, but after delivering the album, we head back to the hospital, okay?”

Monica Usher was pale, indeed uncomfortable standing, as her abdomen had been severely injured, and the doctor mentioned it affected her spleen and stomach.

”Alright, have it your way,” she agreed.

For the sake of having a healthy body in the future to stay by Justin Kingston’s side, and to have children with him, Monica Usher was willing to obediently follow the doctor’s advice.

Thus, Barbara Sutton supported her into the elevator, then drove her to Clearwater Bay.

Clearwater Bay, where every inch of land is precious, remained as elegant as ever.

However, the atmosphere had recently turned a bit oppressive. The lady of the house was sullen, and the servants didn’t dare speak. There was none of the joy one might expect after healing from scars, and the lady didn’t go out shopping.

Mary felt as though the sunshine couldn’t even penetrate the gloom, feeling very stifled.

And throughout the day, Kristina Kingston felt her eyelids twitch rapidly, with a constant sense of foreboding.

She was a little restless, her mind always wandering.

Suddenly, the phone in the living room rang, her heart sank heavily, and she immediately turned to look.

She saw Mary pick up the receiver, ”Hello, this is Clearwater Bay.”

”Mary, where’s the lady?” The voice from the other end was trembling, ”Something happened...”

”What happened?” Mary asked, looking up at the middle-aged woman standing by the window, ”Tell me, I’ll pass the message, she’s here.” As soon as she finished speaking, she turned on the speakerphone.

”Mr. Kingston was in a car accident, it’s very serious...”
