Pokemon: My Trainer Simulator

Chapter 133: Chapter 130: Quasi-God Acquired (20/46)

Nighttime.

Wu was video chatting with Grandma from Dragon Land, who was far away in Unova, on his phone,

”Grandma! Mission accomplished! I’ve recovered all the Deino!” he exclaimed excitedly, turning the camera to each Deino.

The elderly woman with frosted white hair on the phone saw the Deino and burst into laughter, making sounds similar to Wu’s soothing tones for the Deino.

”I’ll bring them back soon!” Wu first said this and then ran to the master bedroom to grab Baimu, saying he wanted to introduce him to Grandma.

Baimu found it hard to resist his enthusiasm, so he greeted Grandma.

”Hello, Grandma, nice to meet you.”

”You too. Wu has really troubled you, not only asking for your help but also disturbing your life,” the old woman said with a very kind smile.

”No, no, it’s just mutual assistance.”

Baimu hurriedly waved his hand.

At this moment, Wu interrupted: ”Grandma, you wouldn’t know, but Baimu is a descendant of Dragon Tamers living outside.”

He quickly explained some of his guesses.

”Oh? Is that so?”

Grandma on the phone was also surprised and carefully examined Baimu’s features.

The latter just felt a wave of embarrassment. Grandma from Dragon Land was a person of great wisdom, probably able to see through his pretense at a glance, so he quickly added: ”This is just Wu’s speculation because I have a token passed down from home, but I’m not clear about its origin.”

”Hmm... Can you show me the token?” Grandma didn’t give a direct conclusion.

Baimu’s heart skipped a beat, but he still raised the token, bringing it close to the camera for Grandma to inspect.

The phone camera probably doesn’t have high resolution, right?

It shouldn’t.

And after seeing the wooden token, Grandma squinted slightly and suddenly asked, ”Has the surface been polished?”

”Uh...”

Baimu weakly asked, ”Why do you think so?”

”Because it looks too new, though it does appear a bit old.”

Grandma sighed and continued, ”Honestly, I can’t determine its origin. This token’s design is too rare, and I’ve only seen it a few times in my youth.”

”Eh?”

Wu became interested, ”Grandma, is this token very rare?”

”Yes, it’s special. Normally, a Dragon Tamer’s token has dragon energy symbols on both sides and isn’t made of wood like this, and is narrower in width...”

As Grandma spoke, she suddenly looked at Baimu, ”Baimu, based on your appearance alone, you indeed have some elements of the Dragon People. If you don’t mind, you might try visiting places like Meteor Village or Yanmo City; you might find your roots there.”

The old woman didn’t seem to think he was lying, believing that he didn’t know his own background, and even gave him advice.

Baimu nodded to indicate he understood, feeling especially complex inside.

After finishing this topic, Wu didn’t seem to want to stop; his eyes twinkled as he suddenly said to Grandma, ”Grandma, these Deino are to be entrusted to trainers for raising in the future, right?”

”Yes, that’s correct.”

”Why not let Baimu raise one! It’s too pitiful for a Dragon Tamer to have no Dragon Attribute Pokémon!” Wu ran to the Aggron with his phone, ”Look at this strong Aggron! Baimu has raised it very well!”

”... Roar!”

Aggron didn’t quite understand what he was saying, but upon hearing him praise, instinctively raised its arms and roared, ”Thunk!”

Then he pointed the camera at Chansey, who was startled and stiffened, ”Look at this Chansey.”

Then towards Mawile—

Wu looked at its big jaw, ”Uh... Anyway, as you can see, Baimu is definitely a very suitable candidate!”

”Yes, I can see, indeed very good.”

Grandma’s voice came from the phone, ”What you’ve said is certainly worth considering, but have you asked Baimu’s wishes?”

”Baimu! Do you want to or not?”

Wu excitedly pointed the phone towards Baimu, raising his brows to signal him to agree.

He’s putting the cart before the horse...

Though it’s to give him a Pokémon.

Baimu and Grandma’s eyes met on the screen. After considering for a few seconds, he bowed to her, ”If possible, I hope you can entrust a Deino to me for training! Please!”

”Hehehe, seems like you’ve come to an agreement.” Grandma laughed and continued, ”Since that’s the case, I can agree to entrust one of the Deino to you. But which Deino it will be, I won’t decide for you.

”Before Wu leaves Pyrite Town, as long as you gain the favor of any Deino, you will be qualified to train it. I think such a basic task shouldn’t be too difficult for you, right?”

The old woman seemed to be testing him.

”Any Deino’s favor?”

Baimu’s expression turned odd at this, and Wu’s expression beside him was also quite strange.

”Yes, if you have any questions, I can answer them for you.” Grandma thought the former felt it was a bit challenging.

The result.

The two exchanged a look, and Wu slowly backed away, exposing Baimu completely, ”Ready, OK!”

The latter said, ”Alright, I’ll start now.”

Grandma: ”?”

Next moment.

”It’s chow time, kiddos!” Only to hear Baimu shout loudly.

Bam, bam, bam, bam.

A sudden clamor of collisions came from outside, followed by a chorus of tender excited cries.

”Mwooh!” ”Nughuh!”

In the blink of an eye, six Deino rushed into the bedroom, eagerly scrambling around amidst Mawile’s alarmed expression.

Clang, clang, a chaotic jumble of noise.

Mawile vigilantly defended its princess bed, using its large jaws to bump away any approaching Deino.

Not catching any scent of food, the Deino then swarmed towards food-maker Baimu, rubbing against him and even nibbling various parts of his body.

”Mwooh! Mwooh!”

These fellows resembled hungry Husky puppies, the kind already capable of wreaking havoc.

”Grandma, does this count as favor? Even though it’s towards the food I made.”

Three or four Deino clung to Baimu, with one even climbing atop his head, and he turned to speak to the somewhat startled yet amused Grandma.

”Hahaha, I haven’t seen such an interesting young person in a long time. Very well, very well, it seems you’re even more outstanding than I imagined. I indeed believe you have the bloodline of the Dragon People.”

Grandma said, ”Not just anyone can make food that leaves Deino so eager—why not try training six of them? There are Dragon Tamers in Dragon Land who raise multiple Deino, you know.”

”No, no, one is enough, one is enough.”

Baimu quickly rejected Grandma’s suggestion. Raising Deino, such Pokémon is inherently slow-developing and requires a lot of time investment for training.

Training six at a time, who could handle that?

Even with a simulator, it wouldn’t be manageable.

And so.

The matter of training a Deino was officially settled.
