Pokemon: My Trainer Simulator

Chapter 106: Chapter 103: Skills Gushing Forth

After a storm-like meal.

The three Pokémon, including Aggron, glanced at the spotless empty bowls and looked up eagerly at Baimu, clearly wanting another serving.

Even Chansey expressed its desire so straightforwardly, which shows how delicious the glowing dish truly is. Baimu himself was also impressed, resisting the urge to lick the bowls with great sentiment.

Bear in mind that he has only browsed through memories once, far from mastering the essence of glowing cooking, and many seasonings in the kitchen are insufficient, with vital frying pans and Fierce Fire Stoves missing.

But these things can be improved sooner or later.

Unfortunately, he doesn’t possess a chef’s extraordinary talent, so it’s unlikely he’ll ever extend into the realms of desserts, soups, steaming - similarly incredible glowing dishes - which is truly regrettable.

”No, resist, eat less but more frequently.”

Baimu waved his finger, ignoring the pitiful looks from the three Pokémon, rejecting their request for more food.

Chefs usually feed according to the theory of eating less but more frequently, including Golduck and Snorlax. Despite their large one-time intake, they actually digest quickly.

While Aggron and its kind consume more and might not digest properly, Baimu is well aware.

”Oof...”

The three Pokémon were quite dejected, but their attention soon shifted elsewhere.

”Roar~”

Aggron swayed its shoulders, shook its head, expressing joyfully that its body suddenly felt much lighter, even after playing and training with Mawile and the others, and despite a nap, it felt a bit worn out.

Yet, after just one bowl, its body warmed up quickly, feeling completely at ease.

It looked at Mawile and Chansey; they too were experiencing that inner joy, with relaxed expressions on their faces.

”Qiduo~”

”Lucky~”

The medicine works this fast... no, the glowing cooking is already taking effect?

Baimu had once speculated that the magical glowing dish might benefit Pokémon’s growth.

Although he didn’t receive a direct answer, the chef’s Pokémon indirectly confirmed this.

Including the subsequent primary purpose of the chef’s nurturing was only to enhance Pokémon’s combat awareness, without much effort on level and techniques, at least not high-intensity training like Miniskirt.

This clearly shows that this dish indeed positively affects Pokémon’s growth to some extent.

As for the specific situation...

There are many reasons causing the upward growth curve of Pokémon, and quantification is extremely difficult.

Compared to quantified data, Baimu is also more interested in this thing’s ”principle.”

Can a world where idealism reigns supreme ignore sense?

A bunch of very ordinary ingredients yields results that are incredibly magical under the blessings of cooking techniques, akin to magic.

Hmm—

Camping curry?

Baimu couldn’t help but think of this special interactive gameplay in Sword and Shield, where the curry segment aligns closely with the glowing dish’s effects.

And the curry comes in different qualities, from Charizard level to Koffing level, each possessing various growth benefits - such as restoring strength, gaining experience, increasing intimacy, curing abnormal conditions, and recovering attribute energy flow.

The chef’s innovative recipes seem like a flip-side as the curry equivalent.

”In any case, struck it rich!”

Baimu confirmed undoubtedly as he nodded.

Mawile realized it couldn’t have another bowl, turning around disappointedly and heading back to its room.

However, Aggron regretfully watched the big bowl in front of it, pawing at it like a tabby cat that hasn’t eaten for three minutes, creating a clanging sound as if doing so would miraculously reveal more food.

”Stop being playful! That’s poor manners, understand?”

Baimu knocked its large iron head, picked up the bowl and dish, and went to the kitchen to wash them.

Chansey hurried to catch up, as it always did, actively offering to help wash the dishes. But during this, it would occasionally turn to glance at Baimu tidying up the stove, seeming on the verge of saying something.

”I know you want to learn, and I will teach you, don’t worry.”

He was very clear about Chansey’s intention, and smiled, patting its head.

”Lucky!”

Chansey beamed, happily washing the dishes.

Baimu watched its back, knowing for sure that he would teach it, but he mustn’t rush. At least not until Aggron and Mawile have acclimated to the taste of the glowing meal; teaching recklessly isn’t wise.

Otherwise, given Chansey’s softness, it would undoubtedly fulfill their every request, and the healthy plan of eating less but more will be gone forever.

——

Nighttime.

Baimu trained alongside Aggron and the others while tallying his current reward stock.

Regarding techniques, there’s a skill machine with five designated attributes, one for ”String Shot,” one for ”Feather Rest,” and one for ”Strong Mental Will.”

For levels, it’s possible to raise by five up to Level 70.

Regarding Pokémon clues, there are two clues with specific attributes, one of which is noted as excellent.

For simulating object memories, there are Miniskirt’s boxing memories and a chef’s cooking memories, available for repeated browsing.

That’s about it.

Strong Mental Will could be used immediately for Chansey, but Baimu is worried that abruptly letting Chansey learn a strong and efficient attack move might lead it to overexert itself.

He could see Chansey’s mindset as a trainer, realizing that once it gradually accepted indirect attacks, direct attacks would not be far off, avoiding forcing it unnecessarily.

He keeps it for now.

After all, neither Mawile nor Aggron can learn it.

Additionally.

Baimu plans on activating two skill machines; it’s best to use them instead of stockpiling them aimlessly.

Choosing Fighting-type and Psychic-type attributes.

Many Fighting-type moves can be learned by all three Pokémon, minimizing the chance of disappointment;

Whereas Psychic attributes are loaded with various transformation moves like Reflective Wall, High-speed Movement, Protective Wall, Magic Reflection, and Exchange Field—dreamy moves.

Based on the results of these two moves, he would then consider activating a third one.

”Let’s go.”

Baimu took a deep breath and opened a skill machine.

The original entry turned blurry and shifted into a new appearance in the next second.

[Move - Brute Force (Choose a Pokémon to use)]

Eh?

Brute Force?

This is great! Aggron can learn it, and it’s powerful! Very nice indeed!

Though not exactly what he wanted most, it still expands Aggron’s striking range, which is quite remarkable.

He hurriedly opened the second one.

[Move - Gravity (Choose a Pokémon to use)]

Another type of force?

Ah! This move is great too! It can counter float traits and Flying attribute Pokémon with a striking move!

Baimu’s team’s mobility is limited. Once Mawile’s off the stage, those flying speedy long-range attacking Pokémon become hard to deal with.

Letting Chansey learn this move means no matter how high they fly, they have to come down!

Very beneficial indeed.

He gazed at these two moves with great satisfaction, unable to resist looking at the skill machine again.

Aggron and Chansey now have new moves, but not Mawile, which feels a bit neglectful; why not activate another skill machine?

Which move should be chosen? Fairy Attribute [Playful]? Or General Attribute like [Sword Dance] or [Defend]?

After much thought, Fairy attribute’s chance of getting Playful is quite slim, further likely to end up with a temporarily unusable move.

Conversely, General attributes offer broader possibilities.

Baimu nodded, choosing General Attribute.

[Move - Passing the Baton (Choose a Pokémon to use)]

Pass... baton?
