Pokemon: My Trainer Simulator

Chapter 123: Chapter 120: Severe Poison Cuisine

Evening.

In the spacious main bedroom.

Baimu was lying on the bed, searching online and asking how to legally purchase a mountain, and the cost of acquiring one.

Undoubtedly, most responses were unreliable.

But there were still one or two responses worth considering—

Nowadays, most of the wilderness in various regions has been designated as nature conservation areas, with forest rangers stationed everywhere, prohibiting anyone from privately owning or developing land.

Therefore, if Baimu wants to acquire a mountain in other regions, he can only obtain it from the ancient clans with hereditary land or purchase it from some super-rich individual.

In short, either be exceptionally wealthy or very powerful, or possibly both are necessary.

”So, to get a mountain, you must be at least at the level of the Four Heavenly Kings or even a Champion?” He scratched his head, not too surprised.

The main series regions are full of talent, with powerful trainers everywhere, and wealthy individuals are as numerous as sparrows, already distributing all the benefits.

For someone from other regions like him to insert himself, the only way is to become a Four Heavenly King or a Champion.

But Baimu just wants a mountain, a mountain that will satisfy Aggron.

”In any case, making as much money as possible is the right move.”

Clearing his mind, he suddenly heard an ear-piercing screech outside after turning off his phone.

”What’s going on?”

He got up and went outside, suddenly seeing Aggron and Mawile moving the princess bed they bought earlier—since the new home didn’t have a princess bed, they had to move this one over.

The princess bed has been used for less than two months, hardly considered old, so there’s really no need to buy a new one.

What’s more, Mawile is somewhat attached to its bed.

”What are you doing?” Baimu curiously asked Aggron and Mawile.

”Chi-do~”

Mawile pointed to the main bedroom and made a soft noise.

Surprised, Baimu asked, ”Do you want to sleep in the main bedroom? Aren’t you afraid of the emptiness? If that’s what you want, I don’t mind...”

”Chi-do!”

Mawile shook its head frantically, the calming bell on its head ringing disorderly.

It realized the Trainer completely misunderstood its meaning, puffing up its cheeks in frustration like a bun.

At this moment.

”Glug~”

Aggron kindly pointed the way for Baimu, making a lot of gestures.

Baimu suddenly realized and asked, ”You want us to sleep in the same room?”

”Chi-do!”

Mawile turned its face away from Baimu, showing a look that was completely different, appearing rather proud and aloof.

However, after spending so many days together, Baimu had gained some understanding of it.

If it were truly unwilling, Mawile would outright refuse, just like how it wouldn’t eat green peppers no matter what; with a few more words, it would get angry and turn its big jaws on you.

”Let me give you a hand.”

Baimu patted its head, ignoring the ”you’re so annoying” expression it showed while desperately shaking its head, and helped Aggron move the princess bed inside.

The space in the earlier two-story small building was limited, unable to accommodate so many Pokémon, so they could only stay in Pokeballs. Now this room is big enough to fit a Steelix—

But now it can’t since an extra princess bed has been added.

”Let’s head to the backyard for some exercise, there’s still enough time.”

Not wanting to waste such precious time, Baimu pushed the two Pokémon to the backyard and then went to the large kitchen to call Chansey, who was experimenting with various kitchen utensils, only to find it staring at a bowl, lost in thought.

This contemplative posture was quite rare for Chansey, invoking a bit of curiosity in him.

”What’s wrong? What’s going on over here?”

”Lucky!”

Chansey jolted, quickly reaching for the bowl, but its hands froze mid-action and lowered its head dejectedly.

Baimu had a chance to see the contents of the bowl—

A thick, seemingly glowing mass of multicolored substances.

A corrosive smell seemed to fill the air.

”...A new culinary creation?”

Uncertain, he glanced at Chansey, which rubbed its tiny hands with its head lowered, showing a hesitant look.

Clearly, this was a cooking failure.

Baimu didn’t feel angry; even chefs occasionally create lethal glowing dishes, only accepted by Snorlax with immunity traits, so Chansey making something toxic isn’t too unusual?

”Try harder next time; maybe you’re not quite used to the new kitchen here, you’ll get better with practice.” He comforted Chansey and gently stroked its head.

But the usual gentle gesture seemed ineffective today.

Chansey didn’t recover, feeling even more dejected, raising its head several times but stopping just short of speaking.

Only after seeing no impatience on the Trainer’s face did it slowly voice its predicament.

Baimu then learned that in the past couple of days, all the dishes Chansey made turned out like that.

No matter how simple the dish, it ended up as a pungent unidentified substance; such an unexpected situation had never occurred before, making it extremely distressed, even to the extent of believing it had lost its culinary talent.

Losing culinary talent wasn’t a big deal, but it didn’t want to disappoint the Trainer, hence had kept it a secret.

”How come I haven’t seen the failures before? Did you... did you eat them?” Baimu didn’t pay the current issue much attention but changed the topic.

”Lucky...”

Chansey shyly lowered its head.

”You silly thing...”

He quickly realized that Chansey had quietly eaten the failures, luckily not yet detected with signs of food poisoning by the Pokémon Center...

Wait.

When was the last move inspection?

”Do you use Healing Bell on yourself each time after eating?” Baimu suddenly asked.

Seeing the light in his eyes, Chansey hesitated before nodding, ready to be scolded, knowing it was wrong.

But unexpectedly, Baimu wasn’t angry; rather, he joyfully laughed.

”You might have learned Severe Poison!”

”Lucky?”

”Don’t be surprised, the poisoning effect by food differs from the toxicity caused by attribute energy; your Healing Bell is not yet at the level to instantly cure food poisoning, so what’s cured must be the latter.”

He elaborated, ”Of course, this needs specific testing to confirm; I’m just guessing now.”

Though it might sound far-fetched, the logic in the Pokémon World is often quite straightforward.

It’s easy to figure out with testing.

Excitedly heading to the backyard, Baimu shared this possibility with Mawile and Aggron, encouraging them to train while taking Chansey to the Pokémon Center.

Remarkably, the black technology of the animated world includes move detection, used by Shinji in Jewel Drill to identify a Starly’s Swallow Return move.

Yet the Illustrated Guide is slightly expensive in the Ore Region, so Baimu hadn’t bought one, opting for periodic checks at the Pokémon Center instead.

Now, buying it seems unavoidable.
