Pokemon: My Trainer Simulator

Chapter 92: Chapter 89: Magnetic Slingshot

”Here it comes.”

At the moment Slowbro landed, ignoring the presence of Invisible Rock.

Baimu realized Shanren was finally getting serious, bringing out one of his powerful Pokémon, and instinctively warned Mawile, ”Watch out for its Spiritual Power! Rush!”

”Chido!”

Mawile responded, surrounded by electric light, shooting towards Slowbro like an arrow.

The speed was akin to lightning, proving its state had never been better.

But just as it was about to reach Slowbro, a shocking event occurred.

Slowbro’s sincere eyes emitted a blue light, followed by an intangible wave surging forward like tides.

At the forefront, Mawile felt as if an endless sea appeared in front of it, with the large jaw at its nape emitting a red glow, frantically tearing at the Spiritual Power, yet completely unlike its previous ease against Meowstic.

In the next moment.

Mawile was violently knocked away!

Whoosh!

Its body screeched through the air, but fortunately, it regained balance before landing, using the power of Electromagnetic Levitation to forcibly halt its backward flight.

When it looked up again, it was astonished to see the rampant dust storm suppressed by a mighty invisible force.

Yellow sand scattered everywhere.

The field no longer appeared as dim as before.

”Mawile’s offensive and Quicksand Hell were both shattered! Slowbro demonstrated a terrifying Spiritual Power! Can Mawile break through this impenetrable web of Spiritual Power?!”

The host’s excited voice echoed throughout the arena.

Just like in previous matches, Shanren’s Slowbro used its unrivaled Spiritual Power to crush its opponents, and Baimu and Mawile were no exceptions.

Yet, this did not instill fear in the latter duo.

On the contrary.

They felt joy, because their opponent finally revealed true strength, unreservedly showcasing its power.

Their task at this moment was to use their force, their willpower, to breakthrough this strength, seeking a sliver of victory opportunity.

In Pokémon battles, as long as the Trainer and Pokémon do not give up, nothing is absolute!

”Are you ready?”

He asked softly.

”Chido!”

Mawile clenched its fist, emitting a resolute cry.

The electric light around it suddenly brightened, then extended numerous substantial currents into the ground, large rocks broke through the earth, entwined with electric currents forming a dragon line behind it.

This strange maneuver left Shanren puzzled, but he couldn’t allow his opponent to perform such bizarre tricks.

”Strong Mental Will!”

”Yado!”

Slowbro’s eyes glowed blue, its vast Spiritual Power suppressed Mawile with invisible force!

But at this moment.

A loud explosion erupted behind Mawile!

The line of rocks behind it collided with one another, exploding with thunderous roars, propelling the former at greater speed, with stronger momentum, against the next one.

Ultimately, the rock under Mawile’s feet exploded with terrifying speed and power.

And within this fearful kinetic energy, Mawile’s body transformed into a shadow at an alarming speed, unrecognizable to the human eye, charging towards Slowbro!

”Shattering Bite!”

Avoiding the debris, Baimu shouted.

Shanren widened his eyes, quickly glancing at releasing Spiritual Power Slowbro, immediately noticing a deep rumble from its front, a dark red glow tore an opening in its proud Spiritual Power.

The menacing large jaws pierced through the opening, emitting Dark Light, fiercely biting Slowbro’s head!

Bang!

Energy exploded!

Choking smoke engulfed both Pokémon in an instant.

What was that just now? What exactly did Baimu do?

The host was also very surprised and couldn’t grasp the situation immediately. Upon asking the guests, one pondered for a few seconds, concluding that the explosion of rocks increased Mawile’s propulsion.

Yet soon this was refuted by another guest.

”If I’m not mistaken, this should be a simplified Magnetic Slingshot.”

”Magnetic Slingshot?”

”Yes, Contestant Baimu’s Mawile utilized electromagnetic levitation to alter the trait of rocks containing trace amounts of metal, temporarily transforming them into magnets. By repeatedly striking them, it accumulated potential energy, ultimately granting Mawile an extraordinary burst of speed.”

The guest displayed an expression of amazement, ”This is a very unique technique usage trick. Although I somewhat understand the principle, I wouldn’t dare say I could replicate it myself.”

The host quickly reiterated the guest’s words.

Most of the audience felt as if they were listening to an incomprehensible text.

Magnetic Slingshot?

What is that? Is it something a Pokémon can do?

—Of course, it can.

Born from Baimu’s whimsical idea, Mawile completed this trump card through countless experiments. Since it doesn’t succeed every time, with a higher failure rate than success, it’s rarely used.

It’s because there’s no other choice now; Slowbro’s spiritual power is too terrifying. Without this method, close combat wouldn’t even be possible.

Moreover.

This usage also causes harm to Mawile.

After all, though Mawile is a Steel Type Pokémon, it isn’t made entirely of steel. The internal shock from the transfer of potential energy can make it uncomfortable for quite a while. In fact, if not careful, fractures in its legs are possible.

So using this move means Mawile is going all out.

”Rush!”

Baimu doesn’t know how much longer it can hold on, only hoping to reduce Slowbro’s stamina as much as possible.

The dust cleared away.

Revealing Mawile once again lunging at Slowbro.

”Mind Head Hammer!”

Shanren remained calm, letting Slowbro check its status—

Better than expected.

He was prepared for Slowbro to be instantly defeated like Meowstic, but it seems Mawile still can’t fully transfer that power to the opponent.

What a pity.

Shanren felt regret for Baimu but had no intention of showing mercy.

Between the two Pokémon, the ferocious large jaws and the head cloaked in a pink halo clashed fiercely, once again triggering explosions and intense ground shaking.

The attribute energy is both stable and unstable, capable of temporarily coexisting with conflicting attributes in a Gorgeous Competition, yet able to explode upon a mere touch in a battle.

The fundamental reason lies in the will of the Pokémon.

In battle, there’s no need for excessive flair. Each time attribute energy is detonated, not only can it create damage quickly, but it also provides a moment to catch one’s breath. Why not do it?

The dust was stirred by the two Pokémon.

After successfully closing in, Slowbro found it difficult to gather enough spiritual power to blast Mawile away, as it took too long to counter the rush, and too little might be easily broken through.

However, Slowbro’s close combat skills were also impressive, even managing to suppress Mawile, which was suffering from recoil due to the Magnetic Slingshot.

The two Pokémon battled fiercely, the ground quaked continuously, and countless sand and gravel flew about.

”Water Fluctuation!”

”Rush!”

Using Rush once again.

As if there were no other moves.

Because Baimu had no choice, Mawile’s raw strength couldn’t match its opponent, and the starting speed of Thunder Fist was slower than Slowbro’s moves, making it susceptible to counterattacks.

Only Rush had the power to speed up as the opponent used offensive moves, allowing Mawile to engage fiercely with Slowbro—

Yet this time, as the collision occurred, Mawile suddenly dodged, causing Slowbro’s Water Fluctuation to smash into the ground, while it twisted its body, not opening its jaws but smashing down like a hammer!

Boom!

Slowbro’s head took a heavy blow, meeting the ground intimately, causing water waves to soar skyward and the earth to tremble incessantly!

The sudden turn of events shocked the audience.

The host shouted, ”Mawile suddenly shifted its position and avoided the Water Fluctuation! Despite its stamina being put to the test, it managed to pull it off!? It just performed a—uh.”

Before he could finish speaking.

White mist gently drifted away.

Mawile lay in the muddy ground, eyes dizzy, while Slowbro slowly stood up.

As the attacked Pokémon, Slowbro remained resilient!

”So that’s it. Just now, Mawile was like a flickering candle flame, executing its last move at the brink of collapse. Such a pity, if it held on a bit longer, it could have taken down Slowbro.”

A guest sighed.

And the surviving Slowbro received new instructions from Shanren.

”Slacking Off.”
