Pokemon: My Trainer Simulator

Chapter 54: Chapter 52: Special Attack and Physical Attack

Flop left, leaving behind an anonymous Pokémon World bank card with five million on it, as well as a voucher to collect Pokémon like Mightyena.

Mawile will only arrive tomorrow, and upon completion of the transaction, a deposit of two million will be returned.

Baimu watched him go, sitting at the table for a long time, feeling a slight ripple in his heart.

It wasn’t just because of the new Pokémon arriving tomorrow, but also the potential motives of the other party.

If we must say there’s something special about Mightyena and the others, perhaps besides their combat abilities, it’s the bodies that have already taken the pills.

Could it be that there’s an issue with the medicine, so the boss wants to extract the remaining medicine from the bodies of Mightyena and the others, to do something with it?

Baimu pondered secretly.

The more he thought, the more possible it seemed. The urgency of the other party was due to Mightyena and the others’ metabolism reducing the medication levels.

However.

If even Jian can get his hands on it, why does the big boss have to be so roundabout...

Pa~pa~

He patted his face, stopping his thoughts from spreading out everywhere. There were too many possibilities, and guessing a hundred would not be surprising. The reason he was letting his thoughts run wild was just a tinge of regret.

After all, in some sense, he had bowed to money and status.

Ultimately, it was still due to a lack of strength.

Unable to say no to everything he detested, therefore everything he currently owned was like sand in his hands, a moon in the water. A gust of wind could take it away.

With this in mind, Baimu’s desire for strength became even stronger.

Backyard.

Chansey was relaxing under the dappled shade of trees.

The blazing sun made it sweat profusely, but it was worried that going inside would disturb its trainer and others in conversation, so it had no choice but to curl up under the shade that barely provided any cover.

Lairon...

Hmm? Where’s Lairon?

Baimu was momentarily stunned, then quickly saw this guy carrying a rubber tube from who knows where.

He thought it was going to water a sapling, but unexpectedly, it headed straight to where Chansey was, moving the switch at the end with its paw. A stream of clear water gushed out, cascading down Chansey’s head in a parabolic arc.

”Lucky~”

Chansey immediately displayed a look of joy and comfort.

”Guda!”

Lairon merrily wagged the hose, cooling off Chansey and watering the tree at the same time — truly two birds with one stone.

I’m so smart~

Holding the hose, it lifted its head, letting the clear water spray into the sky and fall back down like a shower, as if it were celestial dew.

Sizzle...

The sound of water droplets evaporating was endless.

Baimu’s expression was a bit strange. A steel and rock Pokémon should be weak to water, right? Maybe these droplets were no match for the water energy composed of attributes, and were nothing to Lairon...

This is a Pokémon that can learn Water Fluctuation!

”Playing with water? Count me in!”

He voiced out, interrupting the peaceful afternoon of the two Pokémon. Despite wanting to let Lairon and them play longer, if he didn’t get stronger, this beauty would be impossible to keep.

After playing with Lairon and Chansey for a while, Baimu began today’s training.

First, it was necessary to understand the new states of Lairon and Chansey.

[Pokémon: Lairon]

[Attribute: Steel + Rock]

[Gender: Male]

[Height: 103cm / Weight: 135kg]

[Trait: Hard Head]

[Level: 35]

[Moves: Tackle / Harden / Mud Shot / Metal Claw]

[Iron Wall / Fierce Charge / Iron Head / Digging / Brute Force]

[Rock Lock / Quicksand Hell / Iron Tail / Rock Burst]

The life-and-death battle had once again increased its level, and it had learned Quicksand Hell and Iron Tail upon evolution, with Rock Burst being a reward from the simulator... Its attributes seemed somewhat monotonous?

Baimu felt it necessary to learn a move of a different attribute to broaden Lairon’s attack scope, and ground attribute moves were undoubtedly very suitable.

Therefore, the next targets are to learn Heavy Slam and Earthquake.

Additionally, considering the nature of this Pokémon, he decided to train its endurance ability a lot, as for the choice between physical attack and special attack...

He hadn’t decided.

If not for coming to a world based on an animated series, Baimu would have undoubtedly overwhelmed physical attack without a second thought.

But the animation, considering the real combat aesthetic, often obscured these game-like base value contents like physical and special attack.

From his current viewpoint, the damage calculation in this world seemed to operate on a different algorithm.

Whereas previously physical and special attack held a significant weight in final damage calculations, the higher the stats, the higher the damage.

However, the animation was similar to the new game ”Legendary: Arceus” algorithm — enhancing the influence of type superiority, move power, and effort value on damage, while reducing the impact of the dual attack species value.

Of course, it was only similar, meaning the dual attack species value wasn’t unimportant; just not as critical as before.

No longer a decisive factor.

Besides, there’s another aspect affecting damage not present in the game — attribute energy. This increases with level and is tied to move power. The higher the power, the more energy output, definitely not fixed in animation.

Like Pikachu’s Burst Seed exceeding the original output power of Hundred Thousand Volts, and its low-power performance in the staged match against Parasect.

Various unbalanced game-external rules produce one result —

If Aggron wanted to go the special attack route, it was feasible too, focusing on special attack training, though the power might be slightly less, it wouldn’t feel like scraping.

Thus, it’s easy to see why everyone loves having Pokémon equipped with [Destructive Death Beam] regardless of special attack level, as this move often produces a terrifying destruction far beyond its special attack should allow.

The complete forms of quasi-gods remain insurmountably powerful, not only because of their high species values but because they often learn a variety of massively powerful moves, and if they are evolved types, their levels aren’t low either.

This kind of creature occupies a high position in the Pokémon World with outstanding scores in multiple aspects.

”Let’s train stamina first, stamina is very important.”

Baimu gently patted Lairon’s slightly hot head, ”With persistence and the simplest way — running laps, just start by getting used to it, then we’ll add other content in the future.”

”Guda!”

Lairon was more than willing, eagerly starting to run.

Beside them.

Chansey, slightly nervous yet expectantly, looked at him, trying to get his arrangement.

”Don’t just watch, you too, start running.” Baimu smiled, pushing it forward, ”However, you are different from Lairon, feel free to run a few laps then stop if it gets hard, don’t push yourself.”

”Lucky~”

Chansey cheered as it chased after Lairon.

The two Pokémon had different tolerances to hot weather, so training Chansey’s stamina by running laps under the sun wasn’t the best option.

[Pokémon: Chansey]

[Attribute: Normal]

[Gender: Female]

[Height: 112cm / Weight: 35kg]

[Trait: Natural Recovery]

[Level: 32]

[Moves: Pound / Defence Curl / Tail Whip / Egg Bomb / Minimize]

[Sing / Healing Fluctuation / Healing Bell / Telekinesis]

As a Pokémon appearing in the first generation, Chansey’s skill pool, updated over generations, had become incredibly deep, learning all sorts of moves.

Physical attack, special attack, and transformation were all there.

But since it still couldn’t attack other Pokémon directly, it could only restrict and hurt them indirectly, so Baimu decided to teach it functional moves like [Severe Poison], [Electromagnetic Wave], [Invisible Rock], [Exchange Field], etc.

Essentially making it annoying, even if it doesn’t directly output, it can still hold its own.

But how to learn these non-same-type moves?

He thought for a moment, deciding to check this information online. A major feature of the internet era is information sharing, where many unique skills are spread online either actively or passively.

These are invaluable treasures.
