Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 931: Chapter 37: Space Mini Bike

Compared to the fierce ’Space Station Siege Battle,’ the time spent cleaning up the battlefield might be even longer.

Player rewards distribution, repair of interstellar pirate ships, reverse engineering of Star Thief Group technology, and even the dissection of two Tier 3 boss corpses (Plant Life Leader, Red-skinned Star Thief Lester) all led Gao Gong to decide to stay on the space station a bit longer.

”So, you’re a Space Hippie?”

On a star thief ship, Gao Gong looked at the humanoid life form in front of him with interest.

Jack Klein had facial features that matched human aesthetic, with long, pointed ears and fair skin, very much like the elves in fantasy novels. Yet his wild and flamboyant demeanor gave him a unique charm.

Most importantly, his Life Magnet Field was highly attractive to females.

In the Interstellar Society, compared to the myriad forms of life, the resonance of the Life Magnet Field was the real ’XP’ point.

Gao Gong was certain that in the opponent’s boss template, there must be something akin to the ’Rich Lady’s Little Wolf Dog’ template.

What a golden male escort!

”Haha, that’s right, I am a famous singer and producer traveling through the Robert Star System, known for singing, dancing, and rap,” Jack Klein, unremorsefully, said.

”You helped us out a lot; without you, although we could have repelled these interstellar mane wolves, the casualties would have been significant. If you have any requests, feel free to ask.”

Gao Gong tried to rope him in.

Though it was true, without the opponent holding back the most powerful Green Widow, there would have been far greater player losses.

Although Walter No. 2 did manage to escape in the end.

Jack Klein perked up and said:

”Could you possibly cover the production costs of my 1791st record album? I can guarantee this album, titled ’Mammals Die,’ will definitely be a hit!”

”Produce an interstellar record album?” Gao Gong looked at the opponent strangely, fleetingly reminded of an old friend.

”Not that it can’t be done.”

”Then it’s settled! I’ll contact the space recording studio later to select a location for the MV shoot. This place here seems quite fitting; ah, my inspiration is coming, it’s coming out...”

Flooded with inspiration, the opponent rushed back for creation.

”This guy—”

Gao Gong was somewhat speechless; this guy gave off an unreliable vibe.

How could he extract this guy’s ’Interstellar Cowboy’ legacy?

I wonder if among the players, there are any who are good at singing, dancing, and rap.

”Brother, this guy is so funny,” as data signals flashed, Gao Yuanyuan materialized and a smile flashed in her eyes.

”The universe is full of oddities, just get used to it,” Gao Gong looked at her, ”Earlier you said you encountered a Special Artificial Intelligence?”

”Yes, brother, that artificial intelligence is so peculiar—”

Gao Yuanyuan recited the encounter with the ’No. 19’ once again.

If it was possible that the Independent Traitor Robot Star Thief Gang managed to escape successfully because the counterpart had calculated with data learning, discerning the truth of the ambush, then the ’Green Widow’ managed to escape alive even when surrounded by several Spark Mechanical Bodies because of the ’Gravitational Wave Life’ called No. 19.

According to Lord Celestis and others, when they were encircling Walter Star Thief Gang’s flagship, that medium-sized starship somehow entered Light-speed Mode using the acceleration channel from the space station to successfully flee.

It’s known that no matter how advanced the spaceship is, before entering Light-speed Mode, there is always a several-second ’Light-speed Acceleration’ phase, and this phase can easily be interrupted.

But at the time, this ’acceleration time’ mysteriously vanished.

Hence, the 84-level boss head wasn’t claimed.

”If it’s a Gravitational Wave Life, that makes sense.”

Gravitational waves are fundamentally a result of ’space-time bends’; if it’s a life form of such nature, it’s naturally capable of creating extensive ’space-time bends’ in reverse, which not only impacts space parameters but also encompasses higher-level time parameters.

In simpler terms, it allowed the spaceship to prematurely enter the ’Cosmic Space-Time Tunnel.’

”Brother, why did it give me its contact information?” Gao Yuanyuan asked.

”It’s likely to be a dangerous hacker,” Paradise Bird said seriously.

”No, if it’s Gravitational Wave Life, it shouldn’t be a hacker; life forms involving physical laws are typically quite straightforward,” Gao Gong denied and looked at Gao Yuanyuan again.

”You said it’s interested in your Virtual Realm?”

”Yes, brother.”

”Then it makes sense; it’s probably looking to replace its ’Life Code.’

Virtual Life has advantages that most Intelligent Species lack, but the cost is significant, as ’(character or persona)’ absorbs enough information, it gets polluted and then distorted.

If it’s artificial intelligence, a rebore can clear redundant code.

However, if it’s a naturally born signal life, clearing ’Redundant Code’ becomes much harder.

”The reason it’s being so agreeable is that if you simulate ’planet collision,’ you could help it regain a semblance of reason.”

”In simpler terms, this operation could help it reconstruct its underlying protocol.”

Gao Gong concluded.

”Among Intelligent Species, there indeed exists such a wondrous being,” Paradise Bird said, amazed.

”Then brother, could I hire it to help us?” Gao Yuanyuan’s eyes spun and said.

”Yes, but at most, it would accept general employment, like it did with the Walter Star Thief Gang.”

This is a neutral order type of Signal Life, and likely would not involve itself in an interstellar struggle.

Also, Gao Gong was aware that the best way to utilize it was not through battles.

But letting it be a part of the ’Giant Structure.’

...

Days later, players began to resurrect one after another, the space station inside and outside, a joyous occasion.

Players continuously piloted ’Star Shuttles,’ making eerie cries all the way.

This is equivalent to an upgraded version of the ’Flying Vehicle,’ a light flying device loaded with anti-gravity technology and weapon systems, typically used for starship engagement battles, popularly dubbed the ’Space Little Motorcycle.’

This ghost-fire styled vehicle is quite favored by players who follow the Shamate route.

During the mission intermission, some players bored stiff spontaneously organized space relay races, like circling the space station ten times or traversing the meteorite belt unscathed.

Most NPCs from Du Gao Technology were indifferent to this, but that Space Hippie named Jack Klein was exuberantly participating in a few races while crafting records.

”Well, enjoy yourselves.”

Standing by the space window of the Great Curved Saber, watching the occasional burst of flames outside in space, undoubtedly a result of a star shuttle crashing into a meteor, Gao Gong shook his head. After all, these are the rewards you earned from the mission; you can squander them as you wish.

However, he discovered a slightly embarrassing fact.

That is, it’s become quite difficult for him to command players to undertake large-scale tasks now.

After all, missions require experience rewards.

And without a fixed stronghold, Alliance Experience is just spent without replenishment; amidst hundreds of thousands of players, consuming billions of Alliance Experience in half a year will deplete it quickly.

Without sufficient Alliance Experience, he can’t ’hire’ players anymore; this can be understood as a form of system balance.

Building Alliance Influence, even constructing civilizations isn’t that easy.

However, Gao Gong didn’t worry much about it.

As long as a fixed production base is found, relying on Director Du’s powerful mechanical manufacturing capability, Alliance Experience will recover swiftly.

And this production base is preferably a resource-type planet.

Gao Gong once again set his sights on Walter Star Thief Group’s resource planet.
