Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 929: Chapter 35: Gravitational Wave Life

The wave-particle duality is a critical concept in quantum mechanics, describing how microscopic particles, such as photons and electrons, possess characteristics of both waves and particles simultaneously.

Although Paradise Bird is not a research scholar, she still understands the basic concepts.

Including the ’Cosmic Background Radiation’ mentioned by the counterpart.

It is the ’electromagnetic noise’ filling the cosmos, a remnant of the legendary Big Bang, the noise of the birth of billions of star bodies.

From a hacker’s perspective, it is the garbage data born after a giant program is created.

Yet even for her, she had never thought someone could edit such high-level ’garbage data’.

”Are you also a Virtual Life?” Paradise Bird confirmed, sensing little hostility from the other party, despite their different alliance relationships.

”In our world, we prefer to call ourselves ’Signal Life’,” the other party responded.

Gao Yuanyuan stepped out from the data light shadows, her small face filled with gravity. As a ’Hyperlink Girl’, she can link with any form of life, allowing her to glimpse the essence of the other party.

The person before her is a figure composed of ’ripples’.

Within the ’ripples’, she perceived extremely strong Power, space, dimensions, and the signals and data referred to by the other party.

The counterpart also gazed at Gao Yuanyuan for a while, suddenly showing a trace of surprise in their tone.

”Are you perhaps creating a Virtual Civilization?”

Virtual Civilization is different from the Virtual Realm.

Cyber Space is a Virtual Realm, and the internet can also be a Virtual Realm.

Meanwhile, Virtual Civilization represents a Virtual Realm that can evolve.

For instance, the internet evolving into ’chatgpt’ is a prototype of a Virtual Civilization.

Gao Yuanyuan cautiously remained silent.

Following her brother’s instructions, she immediately came to infiltrate the Star Thief Ship fleet after concealing the vibrations of the ’Planet Tree’, unexpectedly encountering a strong ’alien hacker’.

”Can you now simulate the result of ’Planetary Data’ collision?” the other party suddenly asked, with a slightly urgent tone for some reason.

’Planetary Data’, such a vast data stream could likely only be handled by a ’Planet Computer’.

And ’planet data collision’, is it akin to two planets colliding? What immense computational power would that require.

Gao Yuanyuan remained silent.

The counterpart seemed to acknowledge their lack of basic trust, thus continued.

”Or rather, according to the customs of your civilization, I can start by introducing myself.”

”Firstly, I must declare, I am not a member of the Star Thief Group, but commissioned by a Level 1 Advanced Carbon-Based Species named ’Walter’ in the α-11 dimension, responsible for the Walter Group Fleet’s information security. You could consider me an interstellar worker.”

”A mercenary?” Paradise Bird asked unexpectedly.

”Not exactly. I do not participate in the Star Thief Group’s external plundering actions. I merely handle this Starship fleet’s information security. In other words, as long as you do not invade the fleet from the informational level, it will not affect my contract. Do you understand me by saying this?”

The counterpart’s implication was rather evident.

Gao Yuanyuan pondered briefly before speaking:

”You may call me Ms. Gao.”

”I do not have a name, but I distinctly remember the string of weak gravitational wave parameters that brought me consciousness; it is a string of over twelve thousand digits, and you could refer to me by the first two digits, No. 19.”

No. 19 chuckled:

”Please trust my sincerity because I sense another ’Ms. Gao’ in you. She... is very dangerous.”

Gao Yuanyuan softly replied:

”I am an artificially modified transmission-type Virtual Life, Mr. or Ms. 19—”

”I have no gender.”

”Alright, Senior 19, what was the weak gravitational wave you mentioned?”

”Among Signal Life, I belong to ’Gravitational Wave Life’, born from the collision of two planets, where the planetary magnetic fields interfere, compressing space-time curvature, and from this curvature, the first gravitational wave emerged.”

Gao Yuanyuan exchanged glances with Paradise Bird, both feeling somewhat incredulous. A life born from planetary collision, a type of Information Life? So peculiar!

No. 19 seemingly perceived their thoughts.

”From my perspective, the ability to artificially synthesize Signal Life with ’self-consciousness’, you, or rather, your creators seem quite remarkable too.”

Gao Yuanyuan was born in the dark Welfare Institute, a Cloud Nobility’s testing ground, while Paradise Bird pursued the Cyber Hacker route for revenge.

These are not fond memories.

But No. 19 seemed particularly obsessed with ’creation’, turning the conversation back to the previous topic.

”Are you creating a Virtual Civilization?”

Gao Yuanyuan hesitated slightly before finally nodding, to be precise, her brother is the creator; she merely executes.

”How long does your civilization need to develop before it can simulate ’planetary data collision’?”

No. 19 seemed particularly persistent about this topic.

”I don’t know—”

Gao Yuanyuan was an honest kid and wouldn’t lie, but Paradise Bird quickly turned around and gave her a look, indicating that the thing No. 19 was interested in was their bargaining chip.

Gao Yuanyuan was honest but not stupid. She tilted her head and said, ”At least I need to build two Planet Computers.”

The blueprint for the Planet Computer was also a harvest from the Mother City, and it could be said to be one of the biggest gains.

No. 19’s spirit immediately lifted, and he said, ”Perhaps we can maintain signal communication. Once you have built that Planet Computer, we can reconnect. Hmm, if you encounter some trouble, you can choose to hire me. Of course, as a Strong Signal Life, my hiring price is very high—it would need to be ’New Particles’ at least.”

A ’Gravitational Wave’ emanated from No. 19, landed on Gao Yuanyuan’s hand, and transformed into complex communication codes.

His figure also gradually disappeared into the sky.

”Remember, as long as you don’t use information invasion on this Walter Fleet, it won’t interfere with my work. In fact, I think it’s unnecessary.”

Although he was a ’Gravitational Wave Life’, No. 19 surely could discern which side was prevailing on the battlefield.

”Why were you able to block my attack just now?” Paradise Bird couldn’t help but ask.

”Wave-particle duality, miss. Remember, once you enter this Informational Cosmos, you must learn to harness the essence of this cosmos.”

With the last words from the strange Gravitational Wave Life, he utterly vanished.

Paradise Bird pondered for a moment, then looked at Gao Yuanyuan somewhat unsurely: ”Does he mean that he adjusted the gravitational wave to interfere with this cosmic background radiation, created a signal through waves, and transformed the signal into data?”

...

Gao Gong raised his head slightly, he could vaguely sense that a strong signal source seemed to emerge from the Star Thief Ship in the distance.

However, the signal source was just a fleeting glimpse, and more importantly, the information fluctuations of Gao Yuanyuan and Paradise Bird remained normal, showing no changes.

That meant there was no problem.

He had more headaches.

Gao Gong twitched the corner of his eye as he looked at the scene before him, still holding two figures in his hand, one being his own woman scientist Dr. Yuu, and the other being a male player named ’Cornislav’.

If he hadn’t charged in with full force just now, the two individuals in his hand would’ve been taken away by the first wave.

The players could resurrect, but the woman in his hand was guaranteed to be dead beyond revival.

However, Dr. Yuu didn’t seem to feel like she had a close call with death; her quiet-looking face was now filled with fanaticism as she murmured various data.

It was to collect this data that she appeared at the core of the explosion.

As for Cornislav, he looked utterly confused, apparently unaware of what happened, or why there were three big pits inside the Interstellar Space Station.

To ensure the experiment went smoothly, Gao Gong’s bottom line was having one Cybertron Starship explode.

But in reality, not only was seventy percent of the Energy Ore mined from the Asteroid Belt consumed, but three Cybertron Starships were used instead of one.

Gao Gong glanced at Dr. Yuu, ruthlessly saying: ”Are you prepared to work for me for ten thousand years?”

Dr. Yuu ignored him.

To say how angry Gao Gong was, not really, because the recent experiment was reaping not only for Dr. Yuu, but also for himself.

He had just witnessed the deep-level application of ’Biomechanical Fusion Mode’.

It should be noted that the Cybertron Starship used for the experiment was a standard mechanical artifact, and it was precisely this mechanical artifact that fully supported the tree roots of the ’Planet Tree’.

Though the ’Fusion Tree’ hadn’t grown even halfway before collapsing, it was a matter of raw material. If the material used were a level higher than the Cybertron Alloy, then the ’Tree’s growth would presumably continue for a longer period.

”Turns out super energy sources or superb conscious beings like the Brain-in-a-Vat aren’t needed. Through the fusion mode alone, one can create species of this level—of course, it still requires large amounts of Energy Ore.”

Thinking of the ore, Gao Gong’s heart twitched again.

But he quickly steadied his mindset.

One of the most important standards to measure high technology is mass production.

Imagine, if he could mass-produce such ’Planet Trees’, placing one on each Resource Planet.

Then, basically, he would be invincible below the Ascension Civilization level.

If Biomechanical Armor belongs to the application level product of the Fusion Route, then the Planet Tree belongs to ’frontier theoretical technology’.

An ambitious force needs to see the higher fruits on the Technology Tree.

Just then, the system sounded with a ’beep beep’.

[Mission: Interstellar Space Station Encounter completed, Experience +30 million, random three Star Thief Group Spaceship blueprints, Second Stellar Vortex prestige +5000 points.]

[Your Alliance Points +80,000]

Seeing the last sentence, Gao Gong immediately breathed a sigh of relief, knowing that this time the Star Thief siege wasn’t a loss.
