Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 905: Chapter 11: Alien Corpse

Very quickly, three months passed.

In the Meteorite Sea, besides the players, there were also some Cybertron robots mining. These Cybertron robots stood nearly hundred meters tall, each looking like a boss with a formidable aura. However, compared to their previous full armament, they now only wielded a mechanical pickaxe and a metal drill set.

And behind them, apart from the industrial ship, the decks of the other four starships were ablaze with roaring flames, with energy furnaces burning tirelessly day and night.

The arrival of 3000 Cybertron mechanical men indeed greatly liberated productivity. At least now, there were fewer players in the mining area. More players opted for the mission of ’clearing the route’.

Unless faced with high-intensity star system wars or attacked by cosmic-level weapons, the routes themselves would not change. What changes is merely the debris on the routes.

For instance, on this 3 billion-year-old star map, there is no indication of this asteroid belt. This belt, like a vertically aligned elliptical cross-section, blocks the route completely, requiring it to be penetrated to continue navigation.

And what players are doing now is precisely penetrating the cross-section of the entire meteorite belt.

...

Currently, in the newly opened Area 2, a dozen biomechanical armor were carrying a super metal pillar with a diameter of about 4000m.

Besides the head and tail, each mechanical joint on the super metal pillar spun at an incredibly fast pace.

As the players operated, the end of the metal pillar targeted a continent-level meteorite. This meteorite spanned across the entire horizon of the players, extending endlessly in every direction. Based on the detector’s report, the meteorite was 1000km long, 800km wide, with a diameter reaching 100km, thick to the extreme.

This sized meteorite is roughly equivalent to one-fourth of a satellite.

In the vicinity, several ’mountainous’ meteorites orbited around this huge meteorite slowly.

”Are you ready?” the Stone Man asked.

”Ready,” several players answered collectively from behind.

”Brother Da, hold on!” the Stone Man glanced at the last mecha driver, Gao Dalu, who displayed a heroic expression and nodded fiercely.

Who else had the best mecha control skills anyway?

”Then let’s begin.”

With the switch pressed down, every mechanical module of the Tier 3 Civilization Architecture - Continent Plate Impact Device started spinning at high speed. Even with a mecha sporting mechanical energy reaching millions, several water tank-thick mechanical claws simultaneously fixed, yet it still seemed as if about to be swallowed by this ’Mechanical Golden Cudgel’, completely shredding the mecha and its operator.

Thankfully, it was merely an illusion.

Finally, as all mechanical clamping claws blazed red-hot, the potential energy of the Continent Plate Impact Device was sufficiently nurtured. The next moment, this super metal rod, akin to Monkey Sunx inserting the Stabilizing Needle, stirred the waters of the eight seas, pulverizing all rocks and some super rocks boasting alloy-like hardness, visible cracks akin to ocean trenches and mountain seams emerged on the continent-level rock surface, gradually being pierced through to 100km deep.

Even a hundred nuclear bombs may not achieve such an effect.

This represents the strongest ’Star-Bursting Level’ technique of this Tier 3 Civilization Architecture.

Super Attack Mode 3: Planet Drill — Under superpower influence, the impact device directly drills into the Earth’s core, detonating the star core (This attack mode has a 95.3% probability that the impact device cannot be recovered, with a 34.4% probability of causing planet-level disasters).

Ten minutes later, the entire super meteorite began to fracture, meteor showers splashed in all directions, colliding with other relatively stationary meteorites, resembling a drop of water falling into a frying pan, causing a strong chain reaction. Had there been a habitable planet, it might’ve been a mass extinction event.

”Every time I see this, it’s very striking,” commented a player sitting in a mecha, admiring the heart-stirring scene, ”The CG was crafted so meticulously, someone unaware might think it’s real.”

”Report, report, Area 2-5-141 cleared, requesting allied forces to commence recovery operations.” Stone Man called out over the intercom and quickly received an answer. On the mecha radar, a green dot advanced towards another disappearing green dot, signifying the recovery operation for the Continent Plate Impact Device, performed by another Tier 3 Civilization Equipment - Earth Element Breakthrough Machine.

”Our team reports safe.”

”Alive.”

”Not dead.”

”My prostate aches a bit.”

”I have a piece of meteorite lodged in my mecha’s rear end, can someone help me pull it out?”

”No problem.”

”I have an issue!!!” Gao Da complained sorrowfully.

Everyone turned around and discovered the mecha manipulator’s figure was out of sight, likely blown away by recoil, as a player scratched their chin thoughtfully.

”So, even Brother Da can’t withstand this thing?”

Generally speaking, the Continent Plate Impact Device is employed by securing it to the ground, its recoil enough to punch a hole through the atmosphere, while in the cosmic vacuum, there is no atmosphere, and no gravity, necessitating human corporeal force to fix its rear end, with the cost of securing being a player’s life.

So, typically, this spot is decided via lottery, fairness guaranteed.

However, Gao Da, relying on himself as an advanced mecha manipulator from Du Gao Technology, amid a round of player flattery, muddledly accepted this position, feeling confident, reckoning his 800-hand-speed mecha control skills would enable him to dodge at crucial moments.

He A-ed in, he declared GG.

”Brother Da, did your mecha pod not get blasted?” a curious player asked.

”Hmph, at the critical moment, I dodged the countershock using my mind-blowingly cool control skill, except for a minor issue—”

Gao Da glanced at the crack on the mecha’s bullet-proof glass, with oxygen getting sucked away fiercely, blood volume decreasing constantly, body quickly freezing stiff. He couldn’t help but roll his eyes, making a rude gesture to his invisible teammates.

A space zombie emerged.

Three days later, he could return online.

”Recovery complete.”

At the front of this team, roughly 500km away, lay Area 2-5-142. In the darkness, a colossal figure slowly emerged, its mechanical arms firmly clutching the smoking Continent Plate Impact Device.

Soon, this steel giant gradually opened up, hundreds of players floating out, clad in specially made aviation suits, they began repairs on the Continent Plate Impact Device.

Among all Tier 3 Civilization Weapons, this device is a rare disposable item, since once fired and the star core detonated, it is essentially destroyed by the explosion’s might, rendering its reuse impossible.

Fortunately, blasting meteorites is less spectacular than blasting a star core, plus it’s altered before use, not only widening and thickening but encased in thick alloy walls, using the Mortal Crystal Stone extracted from the asteroid belt. Before refining, this material’s hardness rivals that of alloys, capable of blocking energy beams, post-refining even tougher, missing on attacks under 100,000. Therefore, although exploding a meteorite equivalent to a quarter-satellite size, its main body remained undamaged.

Apart from the over 400 dedicated repair players, more players floated out, ignoring this Tier 3 Civilization Weapon, showcasing their divine power, drifting into the distance.

These players represented a new genre of players after the mining route, the scavenger route.

These players disclaimed themselves as ’scavenger route’ and preferred to be called exploration route players. Their primary task was to explore deeper into the meteorite belt.

According to NPCs, to penetrate the entire meteorite belt and restore route freedom, one must traverse through 5 zones, taking roughly a year.

...

Just as stirring water churns mud, sand, and shrimp, the blast work on the meteorite belt shatters nearby meteorites, while distant ones are bumped and decomposed, increasingly revealing various items in this meteorite belt, or rather, interstellar junkyard.

For instance, a player discovered a new pure energy ore named ’Isotopic Polymer’.

This ore boasted a high energy content, with an energy density tenfold that of an energy board in the same volume, meaning direct usage surpasses even the extracted energy board.

Unsurprisingly, quickly reported, collected, earning points.

Other players unearthed various peculiar damaged equipment dubbed ’Civilian Relic Analyzer’, ’Civilian Jump Interference Device’, ’Space Probe’, ’Exploration Drone’, ranging in levels from Tier 2 to Tier 3, unfortunately, all equipment is whiteboard and their damage over 90%, essentially useless, only exchangeable for a few mission points.

Besides that, through this process, players intuitively mastered skills like ’Salvage and Recovery Technology’, ’Astronomical Distance Measurement’; akin to mining stream’s ’Space Geology’, ’Advanced Ore Research’, all are lifestyle skills.

During this process, a player made a startling discovery, excavating an alien corpse.
