Apocalyptic Reincarnation: Start with a 30-million Bonus

From the military map, the ground distance from Big Camphor Tree Base to Gui City is over 900 kilometers, with a straight line distance of about 700 kilometers.

The helicopter they are piloting can reach the destination without refueling mid-route.

After takeoff, the helicopter didn’t stop in Xin City and flew directly towards the helicopter base in Huaxi District of Gui City.

Inside the helicopter, Luo and the others put on their combat uniforms and were checking their magazines and firearms.

This time, they didn’t carry too many heavy weapons, only equipped with automatic rifles and an allocation of 500 rounds of bullets per person.

Additionally, they brought along five rocket launchers, which are lightweight and practical; they almost always carry them on helicopter missions.

In the helicopter, Li Yu was examining the map, comparing the civilian map with the data on the military map, noticing significant differences.

The civilian map showed only one location without specific content.

The military map, however, had much more detailed content.

Before long.

An hour later, they left Gansheng and entered Xiang Province, with Gui Province coming up next.

The helicopter maintained an altitude of over 1,000 meters, traveling at a constant speed of 260 kilometers per hour.

At this altitude, it is actually relatively safe.

In some pre-Doomsday movies, there often seemed to be scenes where someone on the ground would shoot a rocket launcher at the sky and take down a helicopter.

This is actually false. Not to mention that the helicopter keeps moving at over 200 kilometers per hour, and from 2-3 kilometers away, a helicopter in the sky looks almost like a dot.

Unless the helicopter actually lands and is just a few hundred meters away, then it indeed could be hit.

But being hit does not necessarily mean it will crash, as the helicopter’s glass is bulletproof. Usually, ground attacks won’t bring it down unless anti-aircraft rapid-fire cannons or similar equipment designed for aerial targets are used.

Another hour passed, and they left Xiang Province’s territory and entered Gui Province.

Everyone on the aircraft was on high alert, preparing for the search mission after reaching the destination.

Third Uncle was explaining the details of the operation to everyone in the helicopter and assigning tasks.

Just then, Jackals suddenly spoke on the intercom: ”Captain, we’ve spotted survivors below.”

After hearing this, Third Uncle stopped talking and leaned against the window to look down.

A convoy, loaded with all sorts of things, followed by many people, was slowly moving along the road.

Third Uncle glanced briefly, pondered, and then looked away.

The chance of encountering other survivors during Doomsday is quite low, but seeing them from a helicopter in the air is reasonable.

Seeing is just seeing; after all, one is in the air, and the other is on the ground, making conflict unlikely.

So Third Uncle didn’t pay further attention, and the others did the same, giving a quick glance and then looking away.

Third Uncle continued to finish the things he hadn’t mentioned earlier.

Unexpectedly, over ten minutes later, Old Qin also spotted a group of survivors. Although this group was smaller than the previous one, it still had dozens of people.

After seeing these survivors, especially noticing that they seemed to be relocating, Li Yu felt a bit puzzled.

Survivor groups in the Doomsday are usually quite cautious around outsiders, minimizing interactions, and rarely appearing so conspicuously.

”They look like they are relocating?” Old Qin said.

Jackals added, ”I have the same feeling. If it’s a search for supplies, it doesn’t look like it—who would bring so many belongings when scavenging for supplies?

They give me the impression that it’s as if someone is driving them.”

The word ”driving” from Jackals abruptly made everyone serious.

Driving?

That surely means they’ve encountered something threatening their lives, otherwise, who would risk such a conspicuous journey on the road from afar?

What if they encounter highway robbers?

Everyone was a bit curious; these consecutive encounters with survivor groups gave them a bad feeling.

But they couldn’t just go down and ask; it was too dangerous.

Being too close to the ground, what if someone in hiding takes a shot?

So they continued straight, hoping to reach the rescue base and find the helicopter to return to the Big Camphor Tree Base quickly.

However, their unease grew when after another half-hour of flight, they encountered even more survivor teams, at least four or five in total.

The smaller group had only seven or eight people, while the larger ones had over a hundred.

These teams looked as if they were fleeing, catching Li Yu’s attention.

He immediately ordered everyone to maintain the highest alert level and instructed Jackals to raise the helicopter to 2,500 meters.

Usually, they rarely saw other survivors, but today they encountered them one after another, which definitely wasn’t a good sign.

The helicopter flew for another ten minutes, and they finally arrived over the rescue base.

Overlooking the entire rescue base, there were only two or three helicopters on the ground, all appearing to have crashed and been wrecked.

Through the telescope, those helicopters’ surfaces were all burnt black.
