Apocalyptic Reincarnation: Start with a 30-million Bonus

Li Yu heard Third Uncle’s plan and thought it was feasible, so he said, ”Okay, I’ll tell you what Old Dong needs later..”

”Alright.” Third Uncle put down the military radio headset.

Unknowingly, the helicopter had already arrived above Oil City.

The Jackals saw five or six machine guns below aimed in their direction, but only after recognizing the familiar helicopter, did they change direction.

Buzz——

The helicopter landed on a designated helipad.

Third Uncle stepped out of the helicopter, returning from Jinling, and the time had already reached the afternoon.

The afternoon sun was not as glaring.

”Where’s Old Bi? Have him come over.” Third Uncle said to Xiao Jun after getting off the helicopter.

”He’s over at the Oil Well, I’ll call him.” Xiao Jun replied.

He took out the walkie-talkie to contact Old Bi, but Old Bi did not respond immediately. Xiao Jun turned to Third Uncle and said, ”Captain, please wait a moment, I’ll go find him.”

”Alright.” Third Uncle nodded.

After speaking, Xiao Jun immediately ran towards the Oil Well.

Soon, Xiao Jun reached the Oil Well area. The Oil Well was underground, and the noise from the oil machinery was loud. After reaching there, Xiao Jun shouted towards the pipeline, ”Old Bi, Old Bi, the Captain is looking for you.”

Passing by, he saw Zuo Ruxue and quickly pulled her aside, asking, ”Ruxue, have you seen Old Bi?”

Zuo Ruxue pointed to the end of the pipeline and said, ”Go to the end, I just saw him in the power distribution room, you can find him there.”

Before she finished speaking, Xiao Jun ran in that direction.

”Old Bi, Old Bi, Old Bi...” Xiao Jun called out as he ran.

The power distribution room was noisy, and Old Bi was busy inside, not hearing Xiao Jun’s voice.

But soon, Xiao Jun saw Old Bi and, standing behind him, shouted, ”Old Bi, why didn’t you respond when I called you?”

”What, I didn’t hear it, what’s up? I’ll be done here soon, give me two minutes.”

Xiao Jun helplessly said, ”You, the Captain and others have returned and specifically asked for you, hurry up, leave this to me.”

”The Captain is looking for me? What’s going on?” Old Bi stood up immediately after hearing Third Uncle was looking for him, and then looked at Xiao Jun with some suspicion, asking, ”Do you know how to handle this?”

”Of course, you hurry up, this is a small task, very simple, just quickly head up.” Xiao Jun took off his gloves and pushed him out.

Old Bi came out of the power distribution room and hurried upstairs, full of questions in his head about what the Captain wanted with him.

Soon.

After Old Bi went up, Third Uncle saw him and waved at him.

”Captain, you wanted to see me?” Old Bi rubbed his greasy hands and asked.

”Yes, how many barrels of oil do we have now? How many tons in total?” Third Uncle asked him.

Old Bi wanted to take out a notebook from his pocket, but his hands were dirty and he feared dirtying the notebook, so he rubbed his hands against the sand a few times, then took it out and flipped through a few pages, looking at the numbers.

He said to Third Uncle, ”There are a total of 2500 barrels, using four tanker trucks, that’s a total of 550 tons.”

Third Uncle was quite pleased to hear this number.

”Has oil production increased recently?” Third Uncle asked with some curiosity.

Old Bi smiled and said, ”Yes, production has increased. Captain, are you asking because...”

Third Uncle glanced at him and said, ”Prepare to return to Big Camphor Tree Base, we must load all the crude oil onto the trucks today and set off tomorrow morning. Oh, by the way, remember to bring some empty trucks along, they will be useful then.”

Hearing this, Old Bi was confused.

”Wha-, what about Oil City? By the way, did you find those people who were secretly surveilling Oil City yesterday?” Old Bi asked.

Although he really wanted to return to Big Camphor Tree Base, especially after going through a typhoon here.

He had been here for almost two months.

But after hearing the news from Xiao Jun yesterday, his desire to return suddenly diminished a lot.

He did want to go back, but having been involved in construction here for so long, he understood the strategic significance of Oil City to Big Camphor Tree Base.

He realized that he must stay to defend it.

But now, Third Uncle was saying to get ready to transport the crude oil back, which confused him a bit.

Third Uncle glanced at him and said, ”Don’t worry, Xiao Jun and the others have forty people, plus Zuo Ruxue’s twenty-something people, and these hundred or so cooperative personnel.

With heavy artillery and mortars, there shouldn’t be any major issues.”

Then Third Uncle told him about what he saw regarding Jinling City today and added:

”Oil production takes time, and the hundreds of tons of oil produced now must be transported back quickly, otherwise storing them here is not safe. So hurry up and have the brothers prepare, make sure it’s ready tonight, and tomorrow you’ll lead the team back to Big Camphor Tree Base.”

”Alright, I understand, Captain.” Old Bi finally understood.

Whether or not Oil City gets sieged, the oil produced during this time must definitely be transported back to Big Camphor Tree Base.

”Go quickly, it will take quite some time to mobilize so much oil.” Third Uncle said to Old Bi.

Old Bi nodded, then picked up the walkie-talkie and started notifying the brothers.

He felt it somewhat surreal that when he wanted to leave, he was asked not to move.

When he didn’t want to leave, he was told to go.

Old Bi was a bit dazed, but he had a strong point, which was he always complied with orders, regardless of whether they seemed reasonable; executing them was the key.

Zuo Ruxue emerged from the pipeline below and saw Old Bi and others packing their things. He also learned from Xiao Jun that people outside Oil City were monitoring them.

He thought Old Bi would stay a bit longer, unexpectedly, he had to leave now.

Step, step, step——

Third Uncle saw Zuo Ruxue, he recalled the woman a little.

Previously, during an outside mission, he had contact with her team.

”Zuo Ruxue.” Third Uncle called to her from behind.

Zuo Ruxue was startled, hearing someone call her from behind.

She was just watching Old Bi and the others load vehicles, engrossed.

”C-Captain.” Zuo Ruxue turned around and saw Third Uncle, immediately responding.

”Yes, I have instructed Old Bi to lead the team back to Big Camphor Tree Base. The crude oil must be transported back. How familiar are you with things here?”

Zuo Ruxue nodded lightly and said, ”Quite well, we have mastered the refining technology and expanded production.”

Third Uncle looked at her and said, ”Good, I leave things here to you and Xiao Jun. You must stay vigilant, and drone surveillance must be done round the clock. If you spot strangers, respond immediately. Also, report any situation to Big Camphor Tree Base immediately, understood?”

”Understood,” Zuo Ruxue replied earnestly.

”Okay, take some people over to help Old Bi, I guess they need manpower.” Third Uncle said.

”Alright.” Zuo Ruxue said without hesitation and then took her leave.

Third Uncle returned next to the helicopter, the Jackals had refueled it with aviation kerosene and loaded several big barrels onto it.

”Guys, we won’t return tonight, we’ll sleep here, and tomorrow we’ll head to New City Lithium Battery Company.” Third Uncle told the Jackals.

Everyone nodded, acknowledging, and then each found a place to rest.

The Jackals took this break time to chat with Xiao Jun.

.....

At Big Camphor Tree Base, Li Yu pulled out a military map, flipping through it.

After tasting the benefits brought by the helicopter, he felt somewhat troubled looking at ground transportation methods.

The road damage was severe; repairing them completely was not something Big Camphor Tree Base could afford.

Moreover, if a natural disaster breaks out, repairing is pointless as well.

These pothole-covered roads wouldn’t get any better, only harder to traverse.

But the helicopter’s convenience and rapid mobility made Li Yu very satisfied.

However, in the Doomsday, there weren’t many helicopters available, and with torrential rains and typhoons, and extreme temperatures, even usable cars were dwindling.

”Airport? It’s scrapped, I checked with Third Uncle on the way to Chen City last time, where could there still possibly be intact armed helicopters...”

Li Yu spread the military map on the room floor, examining it closely with a magnifying glass.
