Apocalyptic Reincarnation: Start with a 30-million Bonus

”I’ve been in there before, but the helicopters parked out in the open are very likely all scrapped. The ones parked indoors or underground might still have a chance.” Third Uncle thought for a moment and said.

”Let’s go over and take a look first.”

”Alright.”

As they talked, without realizing it they had already walked to the edge of the Mountain Pond reservoir.

The reservoir had already been built, and after these days of spring water from the mountain gathering, there was already more than a meter of water in it.

The water level was low, but the source was pure, crystal clear, and they could still see fish swimming back and forth in the water.

These fish had all been transferred from the storage pond at the foot of the mountain and the fish pond in the cave.

You can’t put all your eggs in one basket.

In a situation like this, there were Zombies in rivers and lakes, and the fish in them were basically out of luck.

And they didn’t dare eat the fish outside either, since they had no idea whether they’d been contaminated by Zombies.

Only the fish in the base had never been polluted, which made them rather precious.

So they were divided and raised in three different places. That way, if something went wrong in one place, they wouldn’t be wiped out in one go.

”This Mountain Pond reservoir looks a lot nicer after being fixed up, only the lake water’s a bit low.” Third Uncle stretched lazily, stared ahead, and said to Li Yu.

Li Yu sat on the grass by the lake, pulled up a foxtail grass from the ground, stuck it in his mouth, and chewed on it slowly.

”Two good rains will be enough to fill it.”

After Li Yu spoke, he fell straight back, lying on the grass.

Looking up at the blue sky and white clouds, the four o’clock afternoon sun was still a bit fierce.

Li Yu simply took off his shirt to sun his back.

Yesterday he’d seen Hua Qian sunning his back over there and asked what the benefit was. Hua Qian had answered with a grin: yang energy entering the body.

....

Li Yu was a man of action, and Third Uncle’s personality wasn’t the fussy type either.

Once the two of them had agreed, they decided to set out tomorrow. As for the choice of personnel going over there, after discussing it they reached a consensus.

Fully loaded, the helicopter could carry more than twenty people, but if they were coming back from Gui City, they’d be bringing aviation kerosene.

And if they found helicopters, they’d also need aviation kerosene; otherwise there’d be no way to bring them back.

So they limited it to ten people, and used all the remaining space to load aviation kerosene.

Besides Li Yu and Third Uncle, among these ten were Old Qin, Ant, Jackals, as well as Luo, Xiao Ding, Xiao Liu and the others.

All of them could pilot helicopters, which made things a lot safer.

At least if they found a chopper, there’d be people who could fly it back.

....

Five in the evening.

Old Bi and his group came back.

Before Old Bi even reported in, people from Satellite City No. 1 in the north spotted them and then informed Big Camphor Tree Base.

The last time Old Bi and his team had been at Big Camphor Tree Base was more than two months ago.

A lot had happened in those two months.

The seas had turned to mulberry fields; many things had changed.

On the way, everything Old Bi and the others saw around them felt unfamiliar.

All of that was caused by the super typhoon. Luckily, they’d joined Big Camphor Tree Base and survived that violent storm.

”Old Bi’s back, let’s go take a look at that old bastard.” Luo said to Lao Yi with a grin.

Back when they left Furong Mountain, Luo, Old Bi and Lao Yi had led their teams to follow Xiao Shi and join Big Camphor Tree Base together. Their relationship was very good.

Lao Yi stuck his shovel into the dirt, rubbed his hands and said, ”Go, go, go, haven’t seen that old guy in almost two months.”

”Where’s Ju Tianrui? Where did he go?” Luo asked in puzzlement.

”On patrol, probably about to come back too.”

The two of them arrived at Weng City and saw tanker trucks and cargo trucks parked densely all over, loaded with large barrels of oil.

”Old Bi!” Luo looked around but didn’t see Old Bi.

So he shouted into the crowd.

Swish!

A lot of people turned to look over.

Uncle and Li Yuan and the others were over there handing over with Old Bi’s team, registering the oil and other supplies.

”What are you yelling for?” Old Bi saw his two old friends not far away, and the wrinkles on his face folded into a smile like a blooming flower.

”Holy shit, that’s Old Bi?” Luo stared at Old Bi in surprise.

Old Bi was one meter seventy-five, weighed over one-sixty jin, looked solid, the type with skin tight over muscle.

Even after Doomsday he hadn’t really slimmed down.

But after a two‑month trip to Oil City, Luo and the others almost didn’t recognize him.

”How much weight did you lose, for fuck’s sake?” Luo walked over, clicking his tongue in wonder.

”Thirty jin.” Old Bi said with a bitter smile.

Couldn’t be helped, the pressure over there was too great. Really tough training.

Managing a whole city on his own, responsible for everyone in it; big and small matters all needed his attention. A life destined to worry.

Even more crucial was that terrifying typhoon; it had put Old Bi under immense psychological pressure.

When they heard Old Bi say he’d lost a full thirty jin, the goofy grin on Luo’s face also faded.

Old Bi had had it rough.

Patting Old Bi on the shoulder, Luo went on, ”It’s fine, we’ll send you over again next time, lose a bit more.”

He’d originally thought Luo and Lao Yi would at least feel sorry for him a little.

He hadn’t expected that to be what he got instead.

”Screw you.....”

”Hahahahahaha.”

......

Old Bi’s return, fully loaded with oil and lithium battery raw materials and equipment, solved a huge problem for the base in terms of energy.

With several hundred tons of oil, at least the tanks and infantry fighting vehicles in the base wouldn’t just be empty shells.
