Chapter 395: The Visitor from the Stratosphere (3)

”Ash, since you are both a Pokemon researcher and an excellent Trainer, I don’t know if I can ask a favor of you.”

Before Ash could ask to enter the lab to see the core of that Deoxys, Lund made a request of his own.

”Dr. Lund, you want me to help your son, Tory Lund, right?” Ash asked.

”Yes... Actually, that child, Tory Lund, used to love Pokemon, but four years ago, an accident left a shadow in his heart, causing him to be unable to get along with Pokemon.”

Speaking of what happened four years ago, Lund looked somewhat remorseful.

If he had known that the battle between Rayquaza and Deoxys would occur, he never would have taken his son to the Arctic for an expedition.

Ash pondered and said, ”Helping with this is no problem, but I’m not sure if I can cure it. After all, psychological issues still require him to overcome them himself.”

”I understand that!”

Lund understood what Ash meant, but if there was truly no other way, he wouldn’t have pinned his hopes on someone else.

”By the way, Mr. Ash, you didn’t just come here for a simple visit, did you?”

After chatting for so long, Lund finally realized he hadn’t asked Ash and the others about their purpose for coming.

”Dr. Lund, I have seen the video your research team uploaded to the League Headquarters four years ago. To be honest, the purpose of my visit this time is the Deoxys core in your laboratory. I know you have always wanted to revive this Deoxys, so I would like to contribute and help you out,” Ash said.

”Help us?” Dr. Lund looked stunned, then gave a wry smile. ”Ash, we do want to revive that Deoxys, but we have experimented hundreds of times and have come up with nothing.”

”No matter, I have a backup plan.”

After Ash finished comforting him with a smile, he changed the subject and asked, ”Dr. Lund, I think you should remember the events of four years ago very clearly, right? That battle between Rayquaza and Deoxys for unknown reasons.”

”I remember. The power of a Legendary Pokemon is too dangerous for humans,” Lund sighed.

He was at the scene of that battle and truly experienced what it meant for mortals to suffer when gods fight.

”Then I would like to ask, can the Larousse City urban defense system withstand the aftermath of such a battle?” Ash asked again.

”It can, but it requires a massive amount of energy to support it...”

Lund spoke halfway, as if he realized something, and looked at Ash to confirm, ”Ash, do you mean that if we revive that Deoxys, it might attract Rayquaza?”

”Not might, it will! And that Deoxys you saw in the Arctic before, it didn’t die; it was just severely injured and fell into a deep sleep. If that one receives the signal from the sleeping Deoxys in your lab, it will wake up to search for its companion.”

As soon as Ash finished speaking, Yuko exclaimed, ”Oh no!”

”It’s over, the experiment has started!” Lund’s expression changed drastically.

”???” Ash and the others were dumbfounded.

Come on, sir. You are the top leader of the lab, and the other is the assistant to the top leader. Can your underlings operate it themselves while you aren’t there? Are you really that careless?

Under a certain ice sheet in the Arctic, the Deoxys that had been asleep for four years sensed the signal sent by its companion, reformed its body, and broke through the ice.

It flew into the air and released their unique method of information exchange—auroras!

A strange purple aurora appeared over the Arctic sky. Until the aurora vanished, this Deoxys did not receive a response from its companion. It recalled the direction from which it had just received the signal, and after determining the location, it headed full speed toward Larousse City.

Meanwhile, Ash and the others chose to leave the Deoxys in the lab alone for the time being. After all, the battle of a Legendary Pokemon was too dangerous; at the very least, they had to wait until Larousse City was prepared for an emergency before proceeding with the final revival process.

Led by Miss Yuko, Ash and the others found Dr. Lund’s son, Tory Lund, in a botanical garden.

When May saw the familiar brat, she exclaimed in surprise, ”Huh, so he is Dr. Lund’s son!”

”May, have you met Tory Lund?” Yuko looked at May in confusion.

”Yes, I ran into him with Ash in the elevator. He really does have a resistance to Pokemon,” May said.

She had also been afraid of Pokemon before she became a Trainer, but she hadn’t been as terrified as Tory Lund. So, May had quite a deep impression of him.

Yuko nodded and then looked at Tory Lund to greet him, ”Tory Lund, your father asked me to introduce you to some friends.”

”Huh?” Tory Lund looked puzzled.

However, when he saw Pikachu and Eevee again, he still involuntarily took two steps back.

Just as Ash was about to speak, his Deoxys appeared on its own again.

”This is... Deoxys?!” Yuko looked at Ash in shock. She finally understood why Ash was so confident that he could revive the Deoxys in the lab; it turned out he had a living one in his possession.

Ash did not explain to Yuko, but looked at Deoxys and asked, ”You sensed it too, right?”

Deoxys nodded, then raised a finger and pointed behind Tory Lund. The next second, a nearly transparent diamond-shaped ball of light floated out from behind Tory Lund.

”Tory Lund, what is this?” Yuko felt like her brain was mush. She didn’t understand what was happening. Why did she keep encountering strange things today?

”It... it is my friend!” Tory Lund said.

The ball of light changed shape several times, conveying some kind of information. Ash couldn’t understand this alien form of expression, but his Aura could read the general content.

His own Deoxys translated for the others, ”Friend... That’s right, he is indeed its friend!”

”Miss Yuko, this is actually the consciousness of the Deoxys in the laboratory. It’s just that it lacks energy, and because you have been experimenting on it, it was forced into a semi-dormant state, making the energy accumulation process slow. Tory Lund’s psychological condition has actually improved, but it just lacked some real guidance,” Ash explained.

”It... is the Deoxys that Dad has been researching?!” Tory Lund was extremely shocked.

Yuko: ”That’s great!”
