Pokemon: Reborn As Ash, I'll Conquer Every League

Chapter 376: Chapter 376: Town

Chapter 376: Town

After capturing the Whiscash, Ash’s group continued their journey toward Viridian City.

While passing by a Pokémon Center, Ash transferred the Whiscash to Misty and instructed her that if the Whiscash refused to submit, she should give it a good beating. Only after it was completely tamed should she send it to Professor Oak for research.

Misty took the matter quite seriously, and that very evening, Ash received a video of the Whiscash being beaten up by Mega Gyarados and Psyduck.

Judging by the fact that the fish looked half a circle chubbier after being beaten, the Whiscash seemed very satisfied with these two ”loving” beatings.

After arranging the Whiscash’s destination, Ash encountered someone who had traveled back from the future to rewrite their destiny in a foggy mountainous area.

Today, the group arrived at a town called Changshou Town.

”We have arrived at Changshou Town!” Brock said.

”We have been walking for several days, so let’s head to the Pokémon Center to settle down and get some rest,” Ash suggested.

Just as May was about to speak, she suddenly noticed a poster on the wall nearby, ”Huh? Ash, look... a promotional poster for the Grand Festival!”

”This is... the Grand Festival Changshou Tournament!” Ash said with some excitement.

”It’s the day after tomorrow!” Brock said.

May said excitedly, ”Then let’s stay in Changshou Town for two days!”

”That works too.”

Ash nodded. If he recalled correctly, May did not win this Grand Festival, so it would be perfect if he participated and grabbed another Ribbon.

”But... what does this R1 mean?”

Brock fell into deep thought as he looked at the prominent R1 on the poster.

”The meaning is simple. The Changshou Tournament adopts the Grand Festival rules, and the entry restriction is that participants must be Coordinators who have obtained at least one Ribbon.”

”Also, the rules of the competition have changed; you must use two different Pokemon for the two performance rounds,” Ash explained.

”One Ribbon? Two Pokemon?”

Brock said, ”Then May does indeed meet the entry requirements.”

May let out a long sigh of relief; fortunately, she had one Ribbon, otherwise, this trip would have been for nothing.

”Anyway, let’s go to the Pokémon Center to register for the tournament first.”

Soon, the group arrived at the Pokémon Center in Changshou Town.

At this moment, the Pokémon Center was already crowded with many Coordinators who had come to compete.

And here, Ash’s group encountered Drew again.

Drew, as if he had expected it, greeted them, ”You really came after all!”

”Drew, did you also come to participate in the Changshou Tournament?” May asked.

”Although the tournament is small in scale, adopting the Grand Festival rules provides a great practice opportunity for those aiming for the Grand Festival. Of course, this is unimportant to someone who is a half-baked amateur!”

Drew’s words made May feel very unhappy, ”Who are you calling a half-baked amateur!”

She had participated in so many Grand Festivals, and when had she not made it to the finals?

It was only because of that freak Ash that she hadn’t taken first place. Compared to some people who weren’t even her match, why did he have the right to say such things? She, May, was very unconvinced!

”If I recall correctly, May, you only have one Ribbon, right? And that was only because Mr. Ash didn’t sign up, allowing you to pick it up by luck. I, on the other hand, have already collected four Ribbons!”

Drew, seemingly intent on annoying others to death, displayed the results of his journey.

Looking at the four Ribbons Drew displayed, May found herself at a loss for words to retort.

Suddenly, a group of young women excitedly surrounded Drew.

”Drew, I am your loyal fan!”

”Me too, look, I even have your merchandise photos...”

”...”

Listening to these people fawning over him and asking for autographs, Drew felt very awkward.

Just as Ash and his group were watching the show, a young woman wearing a Ribbon as a pendant came up to Ash and asked, ”Um... excuse me, are you Mr. Ash from Pallet Town?”

”Uh... well, I think you have the wrong...”

Just as Ash was about to deny it, the group of young women surrounding Drew, like great white sharks smelling blood, instantly swarmed over.

”This Pikachu... and Eevee!”

”It’s him!”

”You are Mr. Ash from Pallet Town!”

”Mr. Ash is not only a Trainer who conquered the Kanto and Johto regional leagues, but also a genius Coordinator who has been undefeated since his debut in the Grand Festival!”

”Oh, this Miss May from Petalburg City is not bad either, having only narrowly lost to Mr. Ash, and she is also the daughter of Mr. Norman of the Petalburg Gym...”

Ash and May were surrounded by the group of young women who were fussing over them. Ash didn’t even know how many autographs he had signed before this fantastic journey—something Cao Cao would have dreamed of—finally ended.

The young woman who first discovered their identities asked the two, ”Mr. Ash, Miss May, are you here to participate in the Changshou Tournament the day after tomorrow? By the way, my name is Tsukiko.”

Ash and May nodded.

”Great! Everyone, listen up, I get to participate in the tournament with Mr. Ash and Miss May!” Tsukiko said excitedly.

”That’s wonderful, Tsukiko!”

”That’s right, Tsukiko, this tournament might just go down in PMDM history!”

”Good luck, Tsukiko!”

The group of young women congratulated her, unconsciously chanting slogans while performing strange cheerleader moves.

”By the way, what is PMDM?” May asked curiously.

”It’s an abbreviation for the Pokemon-loving Moms Group,” Tsukiko explained.

”I see!”

Brock exclaimed in realization.

Ash glanced at him and thought to himself, ”Damn, you squinty-eyed guy actually didn’t act up this time; that’s absolutely absurd!”

...

On the streets of Changshou Town, the tailing Team Rocket Trio also noticed the Changshou Tournament poster on the wall.

”The Pokémon Contest Changshou Tournament—how can we not participate in this! No matter what, I must get a Grand Festival Ribbon this time!”

Jessie was completely fired up.

James glanced at the requirements on the poster and asked in surprise, ”You want to participate? But...”

Under Jessie’s forceful demand, the trio arrived at the tournament registration point. ℯℯ𝘭.

After understanding the registration requirements, Jessie was stunned. She didn’t have a single Ribbon.

”I told you so...”

James had long expected this outcome.

Meowth grabbed James’s mouth and whispered, ”Jessie is in a foul mood, keep your voice down, James...”

Looking at the fuming Jessie, James instantly swallowed the words he wanted to say.
