Chapter 338: The Wishing Star of Seven Nights (Finale)

After arresting Butler, Ash began organizing the evidence of Butler’s crimes, while Brock had already contacted Officer Jenny by phone.

At sunrise.

Officer Jenny, who was closest to Faunce, hurried over in a police car to take Butler away for trial, while Ash handed the instruments Butler had created to Devon Corporation for disposal.

Ash explained Butler’s five major crimes to Officer Jenny: first, illegally imprisoning and forcing the legendary Pokemon Jirachi of Faunce; second, illegally seizing the legendary Pokemon of an Alliance Inspector; third, attempting to destroy the ecological environment of Faunce; fourth, using Pokemon to commit evil deeds; and fifth, Butler’s previous service to Team Magma.

These crimes, combined with the evidence recorded by Ash’s Jirachi, were enough to keep Butler in prison for the rest of his life.

As for Dian, Ash kept his promise and shifted all the blame onto Butler.

After seeing Officer Jenny off, Ash’s group returned to Jirachi’s resting place.

”Ash, the stars are calling me.”

The wild Jirachi stared at the comet in the sky, its body slowly flying upward.

Ash tightened his hat, ”Yes, go ahead, Jirachi!”

Jirachi nodded, then floated into mid-air. The True Eye on its stomach slowly opened, and a blue beam shot from the True Eye toward the comet in the sky.

”Ash, is Jirachi fulfilling its duty now?” May asked, looking at Ash with some reluctance.

Ash nodded, ”Yes, Jirachi is going to use its True Eye to absorb energy from the comet bit by bit and infuse it into the land of Faunce; this is its mission.”

Just as he finished speaking, the comet in the sky fed energy back to Jirachi.

After Jirachi’s True Eye absorbed the comet’s energy, its entire body was enveloped in colorful light, and then the colorful energy slowly infused into the earth, causing the ley lines of Faunce to light up with ripples of radiance.

The whole process lasted nearly two hours.

After the wild Jirachi completed its mission, it flew back in front of Ash’s group.

”Ash, I like you so much, and I like everyone so much. You have all been so good to me. We will always be good friends...” The wild Jirachi’s voice transmitted into the hearts of Ash’s group.

Ash reached out and pulled it into his arms, ”Yes, we will always be friends. Jirachi, are you going to return to your slumber now?”

”Yes...”

Jirachi nodded dejectedly, then flew in front of May and asked, ”May, are you willing to hear my wish?”

”Jirachi’s wish?” May was stunned.

”Yes, because I am about to sleep, I want to hear a song...”

Jirachi’s voice was full of sleepiness.

Ash’s Jirachi suddenly spoke up, ”Perhaps, you don’t have to sleep for a long time~”

The wild Jirachi looked at him and asked, ”Really?”

”Yes... just to stay awake for a while, I can still help... but I need Ash’s help!”

”Are you thinking of using Psychic Wish?”

Ash knew what it wanted to do. Ever since his Jirachi received the divine blessing of the deity Lugia, and its Doom Desire evolved into Psychic Wish, it had rarely used it, and Ash himself didn’t know the specific effects of this move.

His Jirachi nodded, ”Yes, yes, Ash, it can still mobilize the comet’s energy. I think we can use the comet’s energy to delay its slumber.”

Ash pondered for a moment, ”Hmm... okay, you want to try.”

”Then let’s begin!”

Ash’s Jirachi grabbed the wild Jirachi’s hand and floated back into mid-air.

The two Jirachi floated in the middle of the cave, and the wild Jirachi fired a beam again to draw the comet’s energy.

Just in case, Ash also used his own Psychic power to protect the two Jirachi.

After Ash’s Jirachi redirected the comet’s energy, the Psychic Eye on its stomach entered a charging state. The comet’s energy was extremely vast, so the Psychic Eye finished charging in less than ten seconds.

Immediately after, Ash’s Jirachi activated the Psychic Wish move. The light of Psychic Wish shone on the wild Jirachi, and the wild Jirachi felt its sleepiness gradually fading.

A minute later, the light of Psychic Wish dissipated, and Ash’s Jirachi flew to the top of Ash’s head, looking a bit exhausted, ”Ash, it’s done!”

”Ash, I don’t seem to need to sleep for the time being!”

The wild Jirachi flew back to Ash’s group with an excited look on its face.

”Congratulations, Jirachi!” Ash’s group congratulated it.

”Yes, yes, Ash, can I go on a journey with you?”

The wild Jirachi looked at Ash’s group with eager eyes.

Ash naturally wouldn’t refuse this request, ”Of course you can!”

”That’s great, thank you, Ash!”

The wild Jirachi threw itself into Ash’s arms again.

And so, another legendary Pokemon was added to Ash’s group.

After finishing the business with Jirachi, Ash’s group continued their journey toward Fallarbor Town.

Because the Jirachi matter had delayed them for several days, the group hurried along and finally arrived in Fallarbor Town on the night two days before the Grand Festival.

On the day of registration for the Grand Festival.

”Ash, why? Why aren’t you signing up for the competition?”

May was very surprised to learn that Ash was not participating.

”Yeah, Ash, why is that?” Brock also felt very surprised by this.

He had thought Ash would strike while the iron was hot and use Jigglypuff to win another Ribbon.

”It’s nothing, really. It’s just that Jigglypuff hasn’t been in the best condition lately, and the Grand Festivals and Gym battles have been too frequent recently. I need to adjust properly to avoid any mistakes in the upcoming Gym matches.”

”Because I plan to challenge the Gym Leader’s main lineup next.”

Ash had already come up with his excuses.

Anyway, there was no way he would participate in the Akiba Contest; if he did, May might not even be able to collect enough Ribbons.

”But that’s such a pity, I wanted to see Jigglypuff’s performance!”

May said with some regret.

She had heard Jigglypuff’s singing voice; it was truly beautiful, and Jigglypuff’s cute appearance was also very much to her taste.

”There will be plenty of opportunities in the future. In the meantime, May, you need to do your best.”

”Yes, I will strive to take first place!”
