Chapter 320: Evolution, Beautifly

”Go, Seviper!” Jessie said.

”In your dreams! Torchic, it’s up to you!”

May sent out her Torchic to face Seviper.

Since Torchic was close to evolving, Ash didn’t intend to steal the kill.

”Torchic, use Ember.”

Torchic opened its mouth and unleashed a scorching Ember attack, causing Seviper to jump around in pain from the heat.

”If that’s the case, go, my Silcoon!” Jessie said, pulling out her Cascoon.

”That’s not a Silcoon, that’s a Cascoon!” Professor Birch corrected.

”Cascoon? Don’t talk nonsense! I’ve looked at it many times, she is clearly a Silcoon!”

Jessie retorted confidently. She would never admit she was wrong; if there was a mistake, it was the world’s fault.

Her attitude left James and Meowth feeling utterly helpless.

Indeed, Professor Birch was a famous Pokemon researcher in the Hoenn region, so it was truly baffling to see Jessie so brazenly display her own ignorance.

”Let me show you what a real Silcoon looks like.”

May sent out her Silcoon.

Seeing May’s Silcoon, Jessie said casually, ”It doesn’t look any different!”

”No, if you look closely at the eyes, you’ll know. The ones with round eyes are Cascoon, and yours is light pink, which is also a characteristic of Cascoon...” Professor Birch explained.

”Right, the ones with round, bright, and cute eyes are Silcoon, and it will become a super beautiful Beautifly. Silcoon, use Impact!” Jessie insisted, convinced she was right.

”Silcoon, use Impact!” May also shouted.

Silcoon and Cascoon slammed into each other.

The next second, May’s Silcoon began to glow with the light of evolution.

In less than ten seconds, a Beautifly appeared before everyone, while Jessie’s Cascoon showed no reaction.

”The... the little girl’s Silcoon evolved into a Beautifly, but why hasn’t my Silcoon evolved yet!” Jessie said, feeling like she was going crazy.

”Jessie, yours is a Cascoon!” James still wanted to correct her.

”She still hasn’t figured it out, Meowth.”

”Damn it! If that’s how it is, I’m going to tear little girl’s Beautifly to pieces.” Jessie said viciously. ”Silcoon, use String Shot!”

”Torchic, use Ember.”

”Torchic~”

Torchic unleashed a barrage at Jessie’s Cascoon.

The Ember attack was quite effective, burning away all the silk just sprayed by Cascoon.

”Then, Beautifly, use Hurricane!”

May directly ordered Beautifly to whip up a violent gust of wind, blowing the Team Rocket Trio away.

As soon as the trio disappeared, her Torchic also began to glow with the light of evolution. Under the light, Torchic’s size rapidly increased...

A few seconds later, a Combusken appeared before everyone.

”May, congratulations, both Torchic and Silcoon have evolved.” Ash congratulated her.

”This is all thanks to your guidance, Ash.” May said.

”Hmm, the color and luster of your Beautifly are excellent, and Combusken’s fur and leg muscles are also very good.” Professor Birch praised.

”Thank you for the compliment, Doctor.”

May looked up at Beautifly and said, ”Beautifly, let’s enter the Pokémon Contest together.”

”Mangmang~”

Beautifly nodded slightly in response.

”May, Beautifly can also participate in the Gym Challenge.” Ash reminded her.

Beautifly fighting a Fighting-type Gym would almost certainly win if it took it seriously, given the type advantage.

Next, the group began to look for suitable trees for the Seedot to inhabit.

Meanwhile, the blown-away Team Rocket Trio launched a new battle plan.

The content of this battle plan was very simple: Jessie wanted her Cascoon to evolve.

And evolution required a large amount of experience points.

So they started a battle experience accumulation plan. The first to suffer was naturally Meowth, followed by James’s Cacnea.

Unfortunately, Jessie’s Cascoon lacked too much experience. After beating up Meowth and Cacnea, there was still no sign of evolution.

In the end, the only solution Jessie could think of was to challenge Ash and the others again.

Meanwhile, Ash’s group had arrived at another forest.

Professor Birch found a sturdy tree and attached the Seedot to the underside of a branch.

The Seedot seemed to like this new home, and their faces regained their vitality.

”It seems this place is very suitable for the Seedot to live!”

Just after settling the Seedot, the Team Rocket Trio made a comeback.

”In order to let my Silcoon evolve into a Beautifly, little girl, I’ve come to challenge you to a duel!” Jessie said.

”Oh my, Miss, that is a Cascoon!” Professor Birch scratched his head and corrected her.

Jessie didn’t care about that. ”Go, my Silcoon!”

”Beautifly, use Hurricane!” May said.

Beautifly flapped its wings to generate a violent gust of wind, blowing Cascoon straight back.

”Come on, Silcoon, you have to become a beautiful Beautifly...” Jessie was still obsessed with the idea.

After several clashes, Jessie’s Cascoon finally began to glow with the light of evolution under Beautifly’s Hurricane.

”That’s... it’s evolving! Great, my Beautifly...”

Jessie stared expectantly at the Cascoon evolving in mid-air.

To prevent Jessie from having her heart broken, James and Meowth initiated emergency measures. As soon as Dustox finished evolving, James covered it with a rag, and Meowth strapped on two crudely made butterfly wings to pretend to be Beautifly.

This scene left Ash and the others speechless.

But the performance of these two guys made Jessie, who was standing nearby, furious.

Obviously, these two guys had misjudged Jessie’s aesthetic sense. When Jessie saw Dustox, she exclaimed how cute it was and kept belittling Beautifly.

Hearing this, May said angrily, ”Beautifly, use Hurricane to blow those three away!”
