Chapter 316: Chapter 316: Unexpected Separation

Chapter 316: Unexpected Separation

”Wahahaha, that old man was absolutely right, there are so many Mudkip!”

The Team Rocket Trio piloted their robot, using a fishing net to capture the baby Mudkip.

During the capture, the Team Rocket Trio wasn’t paying attention and accidentally broke the dam built upstream of the river.

”Damn Team Rockets!” May glared fiercely at the robot.

”Pikachu, you rescue the Mudkip first, then destroy the robot. Don’t use Thunderbolt until the outer shell is broken.”

Ash knew that the robot the Team Rocket Trio built surely had functions to counter Pikachu’s electric moves.

”Pika!”

Pikachu nodded, then flew towards the robot at full speed.

”Sharpedo, Milotic, Totodile, come out!”

Ash released all of his water-type Pokemon. Since the dam was destroyed, the river’s current had accelerated significantly, and he needed Pokemon to meet the baby Mudkip that Pikachu was rescuing.

After removing the Transformation Stone carried by Totodile, Totodile transformed into the appearance of Feraligatr under May’s surprised gaze.

”You guys go and assist Pikachu. Don’t let a single Mudkip get washed away. Please.”

The three Pokemon nodded.

Then they swam towards the robot.

”Ash, your Totodile...”

”He had already evolved into Feraligatr a long time ago. It was only because he was wearing this stone that he took on the appearance of Totodile. He wore it specifically for the Grand Festival,” Ash explained.

Pikachu’s movements were fast. With one Iron Tail, he destroyed the cage on the back of the Team Rocket robot. After seeing the cage destroyed, Milotic and the others immediately took action to bring the baby Mudkip that had fallen into the river back to the shore.

Brock’s Lotad and that large Mudkip also joined the rescue efforts. After the last baby Mudkip was rescued, Pikachu released another Iron Tail to pierce through the robot’s outer shell.

Under a terrifying bolt of lightning, the Team Rocket Trio turned into a shooting star and retreated once again.

After safely rescuing all the Mudkip, Ash and the others planned to leave this Mudkip breeding base.

However, that wild large Mudkip, seeing Brock about to leave, seemed to have made a decision and followed quickly behind.

Seeing this scene, Numata also understood that this Mudkip had found its ideal home, so he stepped forward, picked up the Mudkip, and called out to stop Ash and the others, personally handing the Mudkip to Brock.

After saying goodbye to Numata, Ash’s group continued to walk upstream along the river, eventually arriving at a cave to explore.

”Yay! Today’s special training is finally over. Brock, I’ll leave breakfast to you later. I want a big meal!” May shouted excitedly while holding Silcoon.

Hearing this, Brock patted his chest and said, ”Leave breakfast to me, no problem!”

”Great!”

May didn’t stay excited for long before Ash stepped out to pour cold water on her, saying, ”May, don’t get excited yet. Based on your performance just now, it’s still very difficult to defeat Brawly. So, you can’t slack off yet. Also, your Silcoon is about to evolve into Beautifly, so you need to start planning for the first round of the Grand Festival.”

May stiffened slightly and nodded helplessly, ”I know!”

”Speaking of the Grand Festival, May, you must have been planning the content for the first round during this time, right?” Brock asked, looking at May with confusion.

”Yes, isn’t the first round of the Grand Festival about showing off the beauty and coolness of the Pokemon? Especially when they come out of the Poké Ball... So the action I planned is like this...”

May ran forward two steps, then, like dancing ballet, spun around a few times before pulling out a Poké Ball.

Seeing May’s actions, Ash couldn’t help but cover his face and said, ”Uh... May, the Hoenn Grand Festival doesn’t allow releasing two Pokemon at once. And your actions are completely showing off yourself; the spotlight of the Pokemon has been completely stolen by you.”

”Ah, is that so?”

May immediately felt embarrassed.

Then, she accidentally stepped on a sleeping Loudred.

The Loudred felt its ear hurt, then let out a roar.

The huge noise gave Ash and the others a big scare.

May’s hand slipped, and the Silcoon in her arms slipped out, rolling deep into the cave.

Ash noticed this situation, but before he could act, the Loudred roared again.

The attack was almost point-blank, causing Ash to stiffen, and he missed his chance.

Seeing this, the Pokémon hurriedly chased after the Silcoon.

”Pikachu, take care of them. We will find you soon.”

Ash could only convey the message to Pikachu through Aura.

After venting its pain, the Loudred left using Dig.

Pikachu and the others, who had chased into the depths of the cave, found Silcoon on the bank of an underground river.

Due to having short arms, Pikachu tried to reach for it, but was always just a little bit short.

Corphish couldn’t stand it anymore. Regardless of the fact that it didn’t have hands, it extended its big pincers to clamp the Silcoon up, but accidentally, along with Pikachu, fell into the underground river with the Silcoon.

The remaining Pokémon also jumped down one after another upon seeing this.

Following the river, Pikachu and the group of Pokémon were washed from a waterfall into the dense forest below.

Ash’s group searched the cave briefly. Apart from finding some traces of Pikachu and the others by the underground river, they didn’t find anything else.

This made them realize that Pikachu and the others had followed the river to find an exit.

Consequently, the three of them used the map on the Pokemon Navigator to find the forest where Pikachu and the others had fallen.

On the other side of the cave.

The Team Rocket Trio was also on the way to find Ash and the others.

Jessie wondered, ”It’s really strange. The Ash and the others clearly entered this cave!”

”That’s right. According to past experience, we should have caught up by now.” James was also clearly confused.

”Oh my, stop talking about that. Could it be that we’re lost!”

Meowth discovered something terrifying.

”Sure enough, I have a vague feeling about that too.”

”Me too.”

Jessie and James both chimed in.

”You all noticed it, so why didn’t you tell me sooner, Meowth!”

Meowth was speechless.

So his judgment was correct all along!

Just as the trio was shirking responsibility, the Wobbuffet very accidentally stood on a Loudred.

Its dream was ruined, and the Loudred was immediately annoyed. It opened its mouth and roared at the trio.

The shrill sound made the trio explode on the spot.

...

In the forest.

Corphish, whose stomach was nearly flat from hunger, wanted to try a bite even when seeing poisonous mushrooms.

But it was stopped in time by Pikachu.

As a newly joined wild Pokemon, Mudkip pointed out a pile of edible berries one by one.

Hearing Mudkip’s words, Corphish quickly came to a fruit tree and began to feast. Eating too quickly, it was caught off guard and choked on a berry.

Grovyle shook its head helplessly upon seeing this, then gave Corphish’s back a hit, knocking the berry out.

The scene of the Pokémon playing was spotted by a certain sharp-nosed wild Pokémon in the tree.

This sharp-nosed Pokémon reached out and plucked a leaf, placed it to its mouth, and played a tune that could confuse the mind.

Upon hearing the tune, Pikachu and the other Pokémon unconsciously began to circle around a rock.
