Chapter 314: Steven’s Request

When Ash found Pikachu, he was surprised to discover that Steven, that rock fanatic, was also there, but May was nowhere to be seen.

However, their situation was not looking good; a group of Aron had surrounded them.

”Pika-pi!” Pikachu shouted excitedly upon seeing Ash.

Steven turned his head and said, ”Ash, you didn’t even tell me you were coming to Granite Cave.”

”Steven, didn’t you text me saying you were here?” Ash said, feeling speechless.

”Is that so? I heard from my dad that you came to Dewford Island, so I sent you a message to let you know where I was.” Steven looked innocent.

”Forget it. What’s going on? Why did you provoke so many Aron?” Ash asked, looking at the others.

”We don’t know either. It was Jessie who brought that group of Aron here,” Brock explained.

”What do you mean I brought them here? It was clearly that little girl’s fault! She knew these creatures were alive...” Jessie went into full defensive mode, blaming the trouble she caused on May.

Although he didn’t understand the situation, Steven looked down at his Aron and said, ”Aron, use Metal Sound.”

”Aron~”

The Aron stepped forward and made a special sound at the wild Aron.

Upon hearing this sound, the wild Aron calmed down.

Steven shouted, ”Aron, they aren’t bad people. Go back now.”

Hearing Steven’s words, the wild Aron regained their composure, turned around, and headed back the way they came.

”Oh, they left? Who exactly is that guy? He can actually control these wild Aron?” James asked, looking at Steven suspiciously.

”Hey, everyone... are you okay?”

Just then, May walked out from another small passage, accompanied by a smaller-than-average Aron.

[Pokémon: Aron] [Type: Steel + Rock] [Gender: Male] [Level: 2 (Normal Beginner)] [Ability: Heavy Metal (Weight is doubled)] [Potential: Quasi-Champion] [Moves: Tackle, Harden, Mud-Slap, Headbutt, Dragon Rush (Egg Move)]

Clearly, the Aron beside May had just hatched.

”May, what about this Aron?” Ash asked curiously.

”I’m not really sure either. After Jessie ran away, I saw a white light while looking for the exit, and then it just latched onto me...” May was also confused about this little Aron.

”A white light? That should be a phenomenon specific to when a Pokémon hatches,” Brock explained.

”Huh? So, according to you, Brock, this little guy thinks I’m its family?” May looked at the little Aron, completely bewildered.

Sensing May’s gaze, the little Aron stretched its head out and rubbed against May’s calf.

The Team Rocket Trio, who had been spying the whole time, immediately started plotting when they heard the little Aron had just hatched.

”little girl, if you don’t want that little Aron, then we’ll gladly accept it!”

”What exactly are you trying to do?” Steven looked at the Team Rocket Trio, full of confusion.

”Since you asked so sincerely...”

Before the Team Rocket Trio could finish their lines, Ash said to Steven, ”Steven, they’re just three idiots who never learn. Just blast them off.”

”Blast them off? Alright then. Aggron, it’s up to you.” Steven took out a Poké Ball.

”Aggron!” A massive creature, far larger than an ordinary Aggron, appeared before the Team Rocket Trio.

[Pokémon: Aggron (Steven)] [Type: Steel + Rock] [Gender: Male] [Level: 73 (Champion Beginner)] [Ability: Rock Head (HP does not decrease even when using moves that cause recoil damage)] [Potential: Champion] [Moves: Metal Claw, Headbutt, Head Smash, Rock Slide, Metal Sound, Hyper Beam, Iron Tail, Heavy Slam, Double-Edge, Metal Burst...]

”Aggron, use Hyper Beam.”

An orange-yellow light began to glow in Aggron’s large mouth. Seeing this, the Team Rocket Trio immediately gave up on resisting.

Boom!

”We’re blasting off again!”

The Team Rocket Trio was blasted into the sky by a Hyper Beam.

After Team Rockets were blasted off, Steven’s Aron seemed to have discovered something and quickly ran to the hole where they had flown out, searching around.

”Aron~”

Within seconds, the Aron turned its head and called out to Steven.

Steven quickly walked over and saw that the Aron had dug out a Fire Stone.

After dealing with the Team Rocket Trio, May, under Ash’s persuasion, caught the little Aron.

Afterwards, Steven took Ash and the others for a tour around Granite Cave.

”Ash, I heard from that guy Lance that even he is no match for you. Is that true?” Steven looked at Ash, very curious.

Ash flatly denied it, saying, ”That guy Lance just talks nonsense. His words have very little credibility.”

”Uh...” Steven’s expression changed slightly, revealing a hint of skepticism.

Noticing this, Ash immediately questioned him: ”Steven, you actually don’t believe me?”

”I didn’t say I didn’t believe you. I’m just surprised that Lance would try to fool me. By the way, Ash, help me identify this stone.”

Steven took out a super evolution stone and handed it over. ”I dug this up in Granite Cave a couple of days ago.”

Ash took the super evolution stone, glanced at it, and said, ”Steven, I’m afraid you’ll have to keep digging. This is an Aggron mega stone, not one for Metagross.”

Steven’s expression froze, and his face filled with disappointment. ”It’s not one again?!”

”Again?” Ash was taken aback and quickly asked, ”How many mega stones have you dug up?”

”Not many, just five or six.”

”...”

”By the way, Ash, I heard you have a way to get mega stones. Help me get one for Metagross.” Steven said suddenly.

Ash checked his point balance and hesitated for a moment. ”Uh... it’s no problem to get one for you, but I need some time.”

”As long as you can get it, I can wait as long as it takes.”

”Alright then.”
