Chapter 333: The Wishing Star of Seven Nights (1)

The young man first placed the wooden box on the ground, then pulled a red cloth from his bosom. With a tug and a pull, the red cloth transformed into a magic wand, and he tapped the wooden box with it.

From inside the box, red, bouncy balls emerged, bouncing off in another direction. Immediately after, a beautiful woman in a red dress, holding two red fans, batted the bouncing balls toward the empty space beside her.

These balls formed a large circle, then burst open one after another, turning into wooden crates.

The crates shifted, and in the blink of an eye, they formed a stage. Not only that, but several iron frames extended upward from where the crates were located. After some reconfiguration, a special, large tent appeared before Ash and his friends.

Watching the entire process of the tent being set up, Ash was left speechless.

”With such good skills, couldn’t you just live a normal life? Why did you have to get mixed up with Team Magma? Most importantly, even after being dumped by Team Magma, you’re still obsessing over that so-called Groudon. What an idiot with a screw loose.”

”The most critical thing is that it can’t fly; it’s just sleeping. You treat it like it’s dead and try to resurrect it. That Jirachi is also unlucky; it slept for a thousand years and finally woke up for seven days to have some fun, but instead, it gets put through all this trouble.”

”I can only say that some people, for the sake of their so-called ideals, will do anything, no matter how outrageous, even if it endangers the entire world.”

Anyway, as for Butler, Ash was determined to catch him. Regardless of whether he eventually resurrected the Earth Demon or not, just the fact that he previously worked under Team Magma made him worth catching.

The morning sun spilled over the land, and the stage for the Millennium Comet Festival was officially completed. As a special rail-laying vehicle finished installing the tracks, a train full of tourists slowly pulled in.

The arrival of the tourists also announced the start of this festival.

Jirachi, perched on top of Ash’s head, suddenly said, ”Ash, I feel a power just like mine!”

”Yeah, I sensed it too,” Ash replied with a smile.

”A power just like Jirachi’s, doesn’t that mean...” May looked at Ash excitedly.

She had heard the story of Jirachi from Ash, and she was quite fond of this kind of Pokemon; if she had the chance, she would like to catch one too.

”There is indeed another Jirachi nearby, but it’s different from mine. That one is the legendary Pokemon that only wakes up once every thousand years.”

Since Butler’s so-called magic show hadn’t started yet, Ash and his friends weren’t in a hurry to find that guy, and instead went to play around the festival amusement park.

As for the Team Rocket Trio, due to funding issues, they were once again working part-time jobs, dressed up as clowns to promote Butler’s so-called magic show.

This so-called magic show was actually specially organized by Butler to find someone capable of waking the sleeping Jirachi.

Brock picked up a flyer. ”Ash, May, look, there’s a magic show.”

”A magic show? Really? Let me see...” May excitedly took the flyer and flipped through it. ”The location seems to be the large inflatable tent that was set up last! It looks really interesting. Ash, let’s go together, shall we?”

Ash nodded: ”Okay.”

The group soon arrived at the stage Butler had prepared, and they saw a large number of tourists lining up to enter outside the tent.

Seeing this scene, Ash wanted to laugh even more. This Butler was even stupider than the Team Rocket Trio. He had already become a well-known figure by performing magic, and he even had a girlfriend who never left his side, yet he still insisted on doing evil.

The opening act of the magic show was Butler tapping a white top hat with his magic wand, from which several Swablu flew out.

Afterward, Butler picked up the hat, and a Kirlia slowly appeared before everyone. Then, after Butler handed the top hat to a Mightyena, Kirlia stood inside a special box.

Butler locked the box, covered the box and the table with a red cloth, and finally even set the red cloth on fire.

As soon as the flames ignited, a ’bang’ was heard, and a burst of pink smoke enveloped the table. Then, the woman in the red dress, whom Ash and his friends had seen before, appeared before everyone holding a deep purple crystal.

The woman held the crystal in her hand above her head, and the crystal suddenly lit up with a dazzling white light.

Jirachi pointed at the crystal in the woman’s hand and said to Ash, ”Ash, I heard it... it’s that stone... it’s right there.”

”Calm down, Jirachi. I heard its call too, but now is not the time to approach it.”

The moment that stone appeared, Ash heard that Jirachi calling out to him.

”But I heard that it’s very lonely, it longs for friends...” Ash’s Jirachi said, its mood somewhat low.

Ash patted Jirachi on the head and said, ”Be patient for a while; you’ll be able to see it later.”

”Okay...” Jirachi nodded obediently.

”Thank you all for coming today to watch the Great Magician Butler’s magic show. I am the Great Magician Butler, and this is my assistant, Leanne...”

After Butler finished speaking, he intended to invite someone on stage to Assist in completing the final performance. As it happened, the lucky audience member chosen was that lecherous guy, Brock...

After the performance ended, Ash first put Jirachi into its Pokemon Ball, then took May and Brock to find Butler and told him about hearing a strange sound coming from the crystal.

Butler, who had originally felt disappointed, heard Ash’s words and his eyes lit up instantly. He immediately began to introduce the legend of Jirachi to Ash and his friends.

”It is said that Jirachi is a Pokemon that only wakes up once every thousand years to help people fulfill their wishes. Now, it is sleeping inside this...”

Butler held the crystal and explained it to Ash and his friends devoutly.

If it weren’t for the fact that Ash had seen the original work and knew that this guy had bad intentions, he would have almost been deceived by his hypocritical face.

May and Brock listened to Butler’s explanation, looked at the crystal, and then looked at Ash. They clearly remembered Ash saying that Jirachi could not directly help people fulfill wishes, and that so-called wishing was actually just transporting other people’s things over.

What made them even more confused was that Ash did not refute him, and Ash’s Jirachi had also been put away. Their intuition told them that there must be some hidden story behind this.

”Ash, since you said you heard Jirachi’s voice, then you must be the partner Jirachi chose. So, Ash, please, you must be Jirachi’s partner.”

Butler solemnly shoved the crystal into Ash’s hand.

”No problem, but how can I wake Jirachi up?” Ash feigned a naive and ignorant appearance.

”Jirachi only comes out to move on the ground during the seven days when the Millennium Comet appears. The person it chooses as a partner is a pure-hearted boy capable of protecting it. Since you said you heard Jirachi’s call, Ash, if you carry this crystal, when the comet appears tonight, Jirachi will naturally appear.”

At this point, Butler had no choice but to try anything, so he just started bluffing Ash.

”I see, then I understand!”
