Reincarnated as a Mosquito, I Sucked the Reborn Empress to Tears

Chapter 218: Chapter 218: A Sudden Anomaly: Only the Empress and the Divine Locust?

It was too close, too fast.

No one had time to react, not even the chief referee himself.

He never imagined a student would launch a sneak attack on him!

Staring at the arm plunged into his heart, the chief referee’s face was a mask of disbelief. The bodies of Spiritual Cultivators were inherently fragile. Caught so completely off guard, he hadn’t even managed to activate his Spiritual Shield.

SPLURT…

The chief referee violently spat out a mouthful of black blood, and then his aura erupted!

BOOM!

The Filipino exchange student who had launched the attack was instantly sent flying, slamming hard onto the ground.

A few teachers quickly moved to restrain the student, while others rushed to the chief referee’s side to support him.

“Teacher Li, are you okay?”

To prevent student injuries, the site was equipped with an emergency medical kit and various Healing Elixirs. They quickly fed an elixir to the chief referee and began emergency treatment on his wound.

Teacher Li looked at the blood dripping onto the ground, his face twisted in agony.

“It’s poisoned.”

“I’ve been poisoned!”

COUGH! COUGH! COUGH!

As he spoke, Teacher Li coughed up more blood, but he immediately insisted,

“Don’t worry about me, I won’t die!”

“First, get the students out of the Secret Realm. Something strange is going on here!”

…

But bad news never comes alone.

A moment later, a teacher’s panicked voice cried out,

“This is bad!”

“The spatial Energy of the Wormhole at the Secret Realm Exit seems to be affected by something! It’s completely unstable. Forcing our way through would be extremely dangerous.”

“We… we’re trapped for now?”

Trapped?

At this, the students, who were still reeling from the attack on their teacher, began to panic.

“What’s going on?”

“What the hell is happening? Who doesn’t want us to leave!”

“What’s the deal? Isn’t the competition over?”

“Is someone trying to get us? Right, it’s those foreigners! I saw a few of the specially invited students skulking around earlier. They have to be behind this!”

Hearing the students, Teacher Li’s expression darkened. He gave a decisive order:

“Restrain all of the specially invited students. Find out what the hell is going on.”

“All students, don’t panic. Everything will be fine!”

At Teacher Li’s command, several teachers exchanged a look and immediately moved toward the specially invited students.

A few of the invited students immediately panicked.

“Wait, this has nothing to do with us! We didn’t do anything, you can’t just grab us!”

Just then, however, several other exchange students from the Philippines suddenly broke from the group and sprinted away!

“Stop!”

A teacher roared and started to give chase, but then he suddenly cried out in agony, clutching his head as he collapsed to his knees.

At the same time, the other teachers suffered the same fate, all collapsing to the ground with faces contorted in pain.

“Teacher!”

Several students immediately rushed up to support the teachers.

The rest of the students were thrown into a state of utter terror.

“What in the world is happening? I… I don’t want to die.”

“All the teachers are down, and we can’t get out. It’s over!”

“I… I don’t want to just wait here to die! This place is cursed!”

After all, the academy tournament wasn’t supposed to be a true life-or-death struggle.

But now, faced with a genuine life-or-death crisis, many students were starting to lose control.

One student decided to make a break for the Secret Realm Exit… but just then, a figure flashed over and knocked him unconscious.

It was Gu Yuexi.

Gu Yuexi frowned at the scene before her and barked a cold order:

“All of you, shut up! Stay where you are and don’t move.”

She then swiftly moved to one of the teachers, examined him, and announced:

“It’s Divinity-Eroding Powder.”

“Don’t use your Mental Power!”

’Divinity-Eroding Powder?’

The teachers and some students present had heard of this poison. It was specifically designed to target Spiritual Cultivators. After being poisoned, using a large amount of Mental Power would immediately trigger a piercing spiritual pain and a splitting headache.

The more Mental Power one used, the more intense the stabbing pain became!

One of the teachers, his face pale, had recovered slightly. He propped himself up and forced out the words:

“It was the water!”

“After returning to the waiting area, almost every teacher drank some water. It had to have been the water.”

“As I feared, any student who drank the water is likely poisoned as well… All students, do not use your Mental Power for now…”

Yet, the moment he finished speaking, several students let out cries of agony, having clearly been unable to resist testing their Mental Power.

Now, more and more students were falling into a panic.

Gu Yuexi’s expression was impassive as she scanned her surroundings.

A total of twelve teachers had entered the Secret Realm to film and maintain order. Now, every single one of them was poisoned.

The situation was now painfully clear.

Those invited students who fled must have poisoned the water at some point. They also used some unknown method to cause a spatial disturbance at the Secret Realm Exit, rendering it temporarily unusable.

The purpose, naturally, was to trap everyone inside the Secret Realm.

’But that’s just the surface-level objective. What’s the real motive?’

’What’s the point of trapping all these students here? Or… could it be that the mastermind’s true target is me?’

Gu Yuexi’s mind raced. ’It’s probably not aimed at me or that Dead Cockroach. So what could it be?’

As she analyzed the situation, disaster struck again.

Inside the Secret Realm, everyone suddenly felt a slight tremor in the ground.

Moreover, a strange, violent aura seemed to be emanating from deep within the core region.

“Wh-what’s going on?”

This new development further amplified the crowd’s terror.

As time passed, the ground’s tremors grew more violent… and that heart-pounding, frenzied aura intensified, drawing ever closer.

It felt as if some terrifying entity was on its way.

At this moment, all the teachers in the waiting area were poisoned and had lost their ability to fight.

The same was true for most of the students, and even those who hadn’t been poisoned were consumed by panic.

Gu Yuexi hesitated for a moment, then spoke:

“All of you wait here. I’m going to check it out.”

“Dead Cockroach, you coming with me?”

Chu Sheng shot Gu Yuexi a look. Too lazy to reply, he just let out a HISS and flew onto her shoulder.

In fact, he had already secretly dispatched a few Insect Beasts to investigate. But since Gu Yuexi was going herself, he figured he might as well accompany her personally.

Seeing Gu Yuexi about to head into danger, several teachers looked like they wanted to stop her but held their tongues. They understood the situation. Only Gu Yuexi and the cockroach still had any combat strength.

Right now, they were their only hope.

In the end, they could only acquiesce. A teacher tossed a portable camera to her.

“Take this.”

“If there’s danger, don’t be reckless. Come back immediately. We can wait for rescue.”

Gu Yuexi nodded. Then, with Chu Sheng on her shoulder, she leaped into the air, becoming a blur as she shot into the depths of the Secret Realm.
