Reincarnated as a Mosquito, I Sucked the Reborn Empress to Tears

Chapter 210: Chapter 210: New Roach Battle Treasure 2 Appears, the Doppelganger Gets a Mecha Too

On the grand sports field.

In the Beast Taming Academy’s section, the atmosphere was even more oppressive than in the Array Academy’s section just moments before.

The Array Academy still had hope, and their Points were still high. But the Beast Taming Academy… they had no hope at all!

’What can we do?’

’Are we really going to be kicked out of Hong Kong University and demoted to a branch campus?’

’Everyone has clearly worked so hard. Is it really not enough?’

All the Beast Taming Academy students had been desperately searching for a view of their team. In the few glimpses they caught, the team members were fighting with all their might, slaying Demon Beasts to earn Points.

It wasn’t that they were lacking in any particular area; they were simply outmatched in terms of raw power.

“Where’s the Divine Locust?”

“Why haven’t we seen any footage of the Divine Locust?”

Someone muttered.

“I don’t know. Maybe we were wrong about it. Or maybe it doesn’t care about this competition at all.”

At first, all the students of the Beast Taming Academy had placed their hopes on the “Divine Locust,” believing it was the key to their academy’s resurgence!

Now, however, many of them were beginning to waver, to feel disappointed.

…

「Shadowland, Inner Ring — In the Sky」

Su Li was riding on the back of her Thousand Feather Snow Eagle, soaring swiftly over the forest as she searched for Demon Beasts.

She knew the Beast Taming Academy was severely behind, and her heart was wracked with anxiety. Her gaze was fixed on the ground below, so she failed to notice a figure plummeting down from the clouds high above her.

It was a flying Demon Beast, much smaller than the Thousand Feather Snow Eagle but far faster—a Gale Falcon!

That’s right, the Shadowland was not lacking in flying Demon Beasts. There were Gale Falcons, Thunder Pengs, Wind Owls, and more! So, even though Su Li could take to the skies on her Thousand Feather Snow Eagle, she still had to be extremely careful!

BOOM!

The Gale Falcon shot toward Su Li like a bolt of lightning! Before Su Li could even fully react and turn around, the falcon slammed into her, knocking her clean off the eagle’s back. She fell hard, crashing onto the ground below.

SKREEE!

The Thousand Feather Snow Eagle let out a long, anguished cry, both anxious and furious, and began to battle the Gale Falcon in mid-air. However, the Gale Falcon was extremely cunning. After its sneak attack, it fled, seemingly trying to lure the Thousand Feather Snow Eagle away.

The Thousand Feather Snow Eagle hesitated for a moment but ultimately circled back, landing beside Su Li to protect her.

Blood trickled from the corner of Su Li’s mouth as she struggled back to her feet.

Just then, a voice rang out:

“Well, well, if it isn’t one of Hong Kong University’s top ten School Beauties, Miss Su.”

Hearing the voice, Su Li’s expression changed. She whirled around, only to find herself surrounded by three students from the Array Academy.

“Heh heh, I’d advise you not to move. Don’t even think about running.”

“Just hand over the Inner Cores in your ring, and we might consider letting you go.”

“Otherwise, you can just wait to be eliminated!”

Watching the three of them close in, Su Li’s face filled with despair. It was three against one; she had no chance of winning. And at this point, even if she wanted her Thousand Feather Snow Eagle to carry her away, it was too late to escape.

’The Thousand Feather Snow Eagle’s Bloodline is very powerful. I’m the one holding it back,’ she thought. ’Otherwise, it would have reached the Sixth-Grade long ago!’

She clutched the ring in her hand tightly. It contained the seven Inner Cores she had fought so hard to obtain. If she handed them over, the Beast Taming Academy’s score would drop even lower!

But if she refused and was eliminated, the outcome would be even worse.

Su Li was utterly unwilling to give in, but she was helpless. An image of a certain figure flashed through her mind, but she just shook her head in resignation.

’The Divine Locust? Since the start of the competition, its coordinates and Inner Core count have been exposed several times, but the Divine Locust has never appeared. Its personal Points are still at zero.’

’I can’t be eliminated. I can only rely on myself! I have to keep earning Points for the academy!’

With that thought, Su Li wiped away her tears and, with a trembling hand, held out her Storage Ring…

“Heh heh, smart girl.”

One of the Array Academy students chuckled and stepped forward, reaching out to take Su Li’s ring.

Suddenly, his outstretched hand froze in place. An earthy yellow halo bloomed around his body.

He… “died.”

Su Li froze, stunned. She quickly turned her head and saw that the other two Array Academy students were also enveloped in the same earthy yellow halos.

’They were all eliminated? Who did that?’

Su Li had only caught a faint glimpse of a red flash of light. She scanned her surroundings again but found nothing.

She had no time to ponder it further. She quickly took the Inner Cores from the three students’ rings, then mounted her Thousand Feather Snow Eagle and flew off into the distance.

Aboard the Thousand Feather Snow Eagle, Su Li felt as though she had survived a catastrophe. Not only had she managed to keep her own Inner Cores, but she had also ended up with nine more!

“Xiaobai, who do you think that was just now?

“Could it have been the Divine Locust? But why didn’t it show itself? What… what is it doing?”

…

What was Chu Sheng doing?

Chu Sheng was, of course, up to something big!

After sweeping through the outer ring for several hours, he had collected another 100,000 Life Essence and upgraded all 32,000 Insect Beasts in his Nether Flame Insect Nest to the Third-Grade Early Stage!

[Current Insect Beast Capacity: 32,000. Current Insect Beasts Owned: 32,000]

[Of which: 32,000 are Third-Grade Early Stage Insect Beasts]

[Current Life Essence: 4,000]

It had cost 96,000 of the 100,000 Life Essence to upgrade all the Insect Beasts to the Third-Grade Early Stage, leaving him with only 4,000!

However, Chu Sheng wasn’t worried in the slightest.

Now, his 32,000 Third-Grade Early Stage Insect Beasts had formed a sizable and combat-effective force. He could lead them into the inner ring to sweep up Fourth-Grade Demon Beasts.

As long as they weren’t instantly killed, a few thousand of them against a single target could take down a Fourth-Grade Demon Beast with no problem! Not to mention, Chu Sheng could provide support at any time! A single Fourth-Grade Realm Demon Beast could yield around 4,000 Life Essence. After clearing out the Fourth-Grade, he’d move on to the Fifth-Grade!

At this rate, upgrading all 32,000 Insect Beasts to the Fourth-Grade Early Stage would be no problem at all!

Just a moment ago, while leading his Insect Beasts into the inner ring, Chu Sheng had activated his Nether Vision and happened to spot Su Li’s predicament. So, he used Instant Teleportation to get close and casually helped her out.

’Right, I haven’t shown my face at all since entering the Secret Realm, have I? That’s a bit strange. It’ll be a hassle if those patrolling teachers come looking for me.’

He just wanted to quietly develop his army of Insect Beasts in peace.

’So, what should I do? … I’ve got it!’

An idea flashed through Chu Sheng’s mind. He still had a little Life Essence left. He could totally modify and create another identical New Roach Battle Treasure, then just let that one be seen by the surveillance systems.

Besides, this newly created New Roach Battle Treasure 2.0 could be piloted by his Celestial Thunder Illusion in the future.

’Genius. I’m an absolute genius!’

No sooner said than done, Chu Sheng immediately opened the Insect Nest’s evolution workshop and began editing and modifying.

A few minutes later, an identical giant cockroach was summoned by Chu Sheng!

Go, New Roach Battle Treasure 2.0!
